Time of Reading 3:15 to 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [298].
2. Now, as we find, the conditions in the present are rather problematical, and should there be the recurrence of the third stroke little may be expected to be done to prevent the disturbance reaching those proportions where separation may come about.
3. Then, from the very nature of the conditions, the seriousness in the present situation, the surroundings that make for hindrances in doing those very things that we find would be the better, we would add this - which should not be found to be objectionable to any that has the welfare of the individual in mind:
4. We would use this as a combination or compound, as a massage for the whole cerebrospinal system; especially to the locomotary centers - that is, the brachial plexus, the lumbar and sacral plexus; massaging this thoroughly into these specific places or centers, as well as over the extremities (arms and limbs.)
5. To 1/2 gallon of regular gasoline, add in the order given (dissolving that necessary for dissolving): Camphor Gum (dissolve this)............1/2 ounce, Oil of Cedar.............................1 ounce, Oil of Mustard.........................1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras.......................1/2 ounce.
6. The last item (sassafras) does not mix well with the others; so the whole solution should be shaken well together before it is poured out for use, for it separates.
7. In the massaging, it would be well that this be done - preferably - in the evenings. While this will make some glow or superficial circulation more active, this - to be sure - is much or greatly desired for such a condition.
8. With those stimulations for the heart's action, for the sustaining of the general circulation, for the sustaining of
298-1 Page 2
vitality through the diet and the attendant conditions, as we find, this should not only bring about a staying off of further attacks but gradually - through the continued use of same from time to time - dissolve and maintain a more equalized and a better coordinated nerve and blood supply through the activities the compound gives to the superficial circulation, particularly. The penetrating qualities of the solution will also stimulate better muscular and cartilaginious activities throughout the whole system, and bring about bettered conditions.
9. After this has been used, and there are resuscitating measures begun in the next fifteen days (should this be used and stay the condition) we would give further instructions.
10. The condition, as seen, is not that wholly which has made for a settling or a drying in the brain center itself. Rather in those centers and ganglia where impulses, as well as circulation, become impaired.
11. Do that. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) What is causing this trouble? (A) As given, stroke - paresis. Do as we have outlined, and we would begin at once with this. There should not be any hindrances from at least giving this, with that being administered, a fair trial.
13. We are through for the present. Copy to Mr. [2056] - (Phoned ingredients for massage & mailed " " File reading special delivery - GD)
