Time of Reading 11:25 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [298]; this we have had before.

2. Now, as we find, the physical conditions show considerable improvement from that as we have had here before. While there are still those reactions in the muscular and tendon forces of the extremities, especially in the limbs (right limb), these - as we see - are effects of the poisons from poor elimination and toxic forces; as well as that affecting the circulation in the lymph, lower portion of digestion, and the pressures are in such a way and manner as to affect directly the circulation as related to the nerve impulses to the locomotaries - and their tributary to the extremities, especially.

3. Then, there needs to be applied with those manipulative and corrective measures certain conditions or elements that will aid in ELIMINATING the poisons from the system.

4. We also find that these poisons, with their reactions to the cerebrospinal and sympathetic system, make for those conditions in the mental activity; in that the temperamental conditions become magnified in the physical forces of the body. These also must be taken into consideration.

5. Then, in meeting the needs, as we find in the present, we would continue - to be sure - the manipulations and corrective forces in the cerebrospinal system.

6. We would discontinue not altogether, but the often reaction, the rub which contains the stimuli for the superficial circulation. We would give this now about once to three times each week, or twice a week for the present - unless the conditions return which make those tendencies for the too sudden reaction to brain. Say Thursdays and Tuesday, see?

7. When there are those contractions - as under knee, in ankle, in foot, we would apply to those portions so

contracted, as well as to those centers from which that portion of the muscular forces receive their impulse in the cerebrospinal system (which will be across the lumbar region), a saturated solution of Epsom Salts. (When the pains are severe, it would be well that the portions so affected be massaged or painted with that which will act as an opiate to the system, see?) This will make for the relaxing quickly of any congested portions, but there must be the manipulations and corrections - especially while there is the inability of a great deal of activity by the body; though, whenever the body desires to be out or to be moved about, or to be carried for rides or the like, it should be kept out as much as is well for the general condition; that is, change of scene, change of environ, change of surroundings will be well for the body, as this creates not only the quieting of the general nervous system but gives the body other things to think of than self and self's condition. See?

8. For the eliminations we would use high enemas, or colonic irrigations occasionally. In the first three quarts or gallon of water we would use a tablespoonful of plain salt and two tablespoonsful of baking soda, as an intestinal antiseptic and cleanser. In the last waters (which would be used for rinsing the colon) we would use, in the gallon and a half of water as much as two tablespoonsful of Glyco-Thymoline - as an intestinal antiseptic that will reduce inflammation and prevent acid forming, and will CLEANSE the system. These we would give at least twice a week until three or four have been given, see?

9. Be mindful that the diet (which has been outlined) is wholesome and well-balanced, that it is tended towards the alkalin rather than the acid forming.

10. As indicated by the body's desire for food, or the requirements of same, there are elements lacking in system; but with the cleansing of the system first (that is, the colon, especially), and those tendencies for the food reactions to be alkalin, we would soon adjust the general conditions for the body.

11. Now: The rubs twice a week. We would change the other periods to the saturated solution of Epsom Salts packs, for the contraction in the muscular forces, directly to the portions affected; also to the centers from which those portions of the body receive their impulse. As it comes at times in the calf of the leg, under the knee, we would apply these packs there and also to the lumbar and sacral area (in the spine) from which those portions of the limbs receive their impulse. See? Then we would cleanse the system with

the high enemas, using those antiseptics and washes that have been indicated; using the food values in the ratio or manner outlined.

12. As we find, with these followed in this direction, the conditions should continue to be on the improve.

13. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) What will relieve the tenderness of the skin on the back? (A) Olive oil and tincture of myrrh. Heat the oil to add the myrrh, equal parts. Just GENTLY massage this; do not rub.

15. (Q) Any advice as to how often, or regarding, the osteopathic treatments? (A) These would be according to the needs of the body. The general treatment will be found in the present, except the adjustments in the lumbar and sacral area, to be more in the cervical and upper dorsal than other portions of the body, to keep a normal equilibrium of the blood and nerve energies from the central nervous system.

16. (Q) Would a change of location for the body be advisable? If so, where? (A) After there have been some better conditions for the body, where it is not so severe in the change of the atmospheric pressures; or to a dryer, more sandy or sunshine, would be well for the body.

17. (Q) Would a change of nurses be advisable? (A) The nurse is very good in the present conditions; just needs a little more patience, a little more persistence.

18. (Q) What is condition of heart at present? (A) This is very good, considering the general reactions throughout the system.

19. (Q) The blood supply? (A) As indicated, there are poisons being carried in the blood system; hence the cleansing that we have advised.

20. (Q) Has treatment taken any effect to prevent another stroke? (A) We have outlined the conditions, as to what is occuring! Follow these along the lines as we have given!

21. (Q) Is it advisable to show patient the reading? (A) Advisable that there be the sympathetic reaction with same. Hence it would be well to be explained to the patient.

22. (Q) Should Mr. [257] visit her and explain parts of reading? (A) If she desires that he should!

23. (Q) Please advise husband, [2056], as to what he can further do to help body recover. (A) Carry on with those ways in which there is kept for the body and its surroundings the best mental and physical attitudes about the body.
