1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before, [299]. [Life Rdg. 299-1 and pregnancy rdgs. 301-5 & 6?]
2. In the general physical conditions and developments of the body, these we find are very good - and there is normalcy in most respects in the system. There needs be some corrections in the cervical and upper dorsal, from the strains that have recently been imposed upon this portion of the system; speccifically, in the 3rd and 4th cervical, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsal. These, as we find, come from strain of a character from exterior influences.
3. As for the developments in the general physical body, these we find proceeding in a general normal manner; developing, both mentally and physically, in the direction where there may be expected the normal activities of all portions of the body.
4. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) Did fall on June 2, 1932, or any other fall, injure body internally? (A) Only the strains as indicated in the cervical and upper dorsal. Hence the fretful expressions and activities, combined with those tendencies of formations of the teeth - that IRRITATE the body.
6. (Q) Are teeth forming normally? (A) These are very good. We would find that a weakened solution of Ipsab for the gums would tend to relieve the pressure and make for normalcy in the salivary glands, as well as strengthening the tissue in mouth. This should be reduced at least half, and the gums massaged with a tuft of cotton with same. This also adds to the amount of saline, calcium and iodine, for the activity of the glands in mouth and throat.
7. (Q) How often should this be used? (A) Two or three times each week.
8. (Q) What should be done to prevent constipation?
299-2 Page 2
(A) In this, changes in the diet in a general outline would be well; giving more fruits that tend to make for the activities of the digestive and eliminating system, as of prunes, as of those of EVERY nature that make for the activities of the system.
9. (Q) Should body continue nursing? (A) It would be found that this will be a much more satisfactory way, especially through those periods when the summer or the hot weather - with the teeth - cause those activities that make for general debilitation, and may be GOVERNED much better than were there the attempt to change to those of feeding otherwise during this period. Especially through July and August. When the early portion or middle of September, or when the cool days appear, then there may be the change made with less interference of the developings of the general system. In the matter of the quantity of foods as fed the body, these may be changed from time to time - but not too much of same given. Those in the cereals that are of the cooked are much better, as well as the egg - preferably only the yolk, though occasionally there may be the whole egg, provided same is coddled or prepared so that all the properties in same act with the general forces of the system; but the yolk preferably should be prepared or used for feeding. In the cereals, those of oaten, those of the whole wheat, that carries a great deal of the gluten; especially that that carries the vitamins that make for the building of the proper amount of calcium and the like, or Vitamin D in the system, which will be found to be included in those that are well balanced in the sunshine - and keep the body in the sunshine; not so that there is injury to the body, but sufficient that all of the respiratory system and the capillary circulation is affected by the rays of the sun. At least some portion each day when same may be had. These will keep an even balance of the vitamins through the system.
10. (Q) Should body be vaccinated against diptheria or smallpox? (A) Would be better that this be not done until after there has been the formation of the teeth, for with the disturbances that are produced in the system through the hardening - or the calling on the system for the necessary elements to build this in and for system, these would work (in the form of vaccinations or serums) a hardship on the general system, making for deformities in the teeth themselves. This may be seen in many instances where those of such activities have been given the very young during
299-2 Page 3
such periods. Should there be exposures to such influences, then precautionary measures - or emergency measures - might be necessary. Under general or normal conditions, very much later in the years would be very much better for such in the system.
11. (Q) Should body have any meat juices, meat, or raw food? (A) A little meat juice is well at times; but while the nursing and those of the cereals and the egg are kept, only those of the pure meat juices would we give [See aunt's rdg. 275-27, Par. 20-A] - and not a great deal or any of raw foods, unless a little of fruits occasionally; for until there are the proper activities in the system that make for the abilities of perfect mastication, there cannot be the proper amount of activities from the salivary glands to produce perfect activity through the digestion of the system without causing fermentation, thus throwing some of the glands and the active forces in the digestive system out of balance. Limewater occasionally given will be found to aid in digestion, and aid also in the assimilation. This may be given just as a drink.
12. (Q) Is body getting enough Vitamin "D" to build strong bones and teeth? (A) There are the suggestions that there be added the sunshine, or the nude baths in sun, and some little more portions of those cereals that carry same, so that this is well balanced. It is well, with the developments that are beginning (and apparent), that a little more - not an excess - be added. Sun baths of one to two hours each day - divided up, not all at once - would be found to be helpful, as would a change in the oaten to the whole wheat and to the rye cereals which, with their perfect preparations, carry more Vitamin D in the system. As well as the lime, with the milk in nursing - these will add to the system the proper amount. We do not want to OVER balance, or to cause an extraordinary growth to any glands that would tend to make for extremes in the developing body. These added in over abundance aid, or add to, those glands that produce UNUSUAL activities in these directions.
13. (Q) How often should osteopathic treatments be given? (A) Sufficient until there is seen the full, complete and proper correction in those portions where strains have existed, in the cervical and dorsal region. This may be best judged by one so applying the manipulations.
14. That is all the questions.
