Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [303], present in this room, and her family, together with her present problems and responsibilities, both financial and domestic. You will go into these thoroughly and give her such advice at this time that will direct her in adjusting these conditions, in such a manner as will be beneficial both to her and to her family. You will answer the questions which she submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [303], present in this room; those conditions in the mental and in the material, those in the physical and in the social, and the family relations in the life.

3. In these connections (as everyone should), these should not be considered as problems; rather with that attitude knowing that from the spiritual there arises those influences which will enable every soul to meet every circumstance, and the problems are in HIS hands; doing that which the conscience and that as the ideal of the self PROMPTS in the material or physical activity.

4. True, there are those things that appear hard to be understood, as to why this, that or the other experience is burdening the mental activities of the self when there is the attempt on the part of self to lead and to direct and to carry on in the better way possible, seeking at every turn, at every experience, to use all of those influences that are necessary to keep the mental attitude in the proper direction, or keep self in the proper frame of mind. Yet the material things, the material relationships, the home life, the home itself, all become threatened under the existent conditions. These appear indeed as problems, and oft the body finds self as incapable of meeting them all. Yet in Him and in those ways that come to thee in the executing and the carrying out, not merely of obligations, not merely of doing this or that, but these strengthening influences that come will be sufficient.

5. For His grace IS sufficient unto the end. He that endureth the cross shall wear the crown; not he that gives up, that cries "Enough" and is ready to quit, but they that press on even when there apparently is no way out.

6. There will come those strengthening influences in the material, there will come the change in the desires, in the activities of those about thee to make for greater blessings.

7. And as ye hold to that which ye have purposed in thine heart to do, then leave the rest with him and fear not to trust; and be not unmindful or doubtful that those things that are of the material-material are His also. For "The silver and the gold is mine, saith the Lord. I will repay to those that are faithful unto the end." The darker shadows are just before the dawn. Hold to that thou hast in thine experience, and ye shall find harmony and peace and understanding coming in all the associations, both those in the material relationships and those in the life in the home, and in the relationships to others; all will find in the experiences and expressions of same that which will make thee cry the more and the more, "Blessed is the name of the Lord!"

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) What are the first steps I should take to meet my pressing financial difficulties? (A) As we find, there are channels that are even almost unknown to the body that are being opened up in this direction. But in those relationships about the home, and those surroundings and those things there, these - as we find - through those regular channels that have been opened and are opening for the body - may be met in the ways that will be shown thee.

10. (Q) How may I arrange to make the necessary repairs to the house? [See 303-4, Par. 16-A on 1/4/34.] (A) All of these may be taken care of through the change of the loan to the new organizations for the repairs of same, or for those changes that are necessary. These, as we find, would be better through the Home Loan organization for repairs and for the perfecting of the whole change necessary.

11. (Q) Please advise me as to how I may help to adjust the domestic problem existing between my daughter, [263], and her husband. [See 303-4, Par. 9-A--13-A on 1/4/34.] (A) This, of course, to the body - and to the conditions that surround it - becomes really those experiences that WORRY. But they should not be as problems. That individuals have made and do make mistakes or errors in

their association and their activities is evidenced in the experience of each and every soul. That the self may take upon self the obligations of others does at times make for a hindering of those individuals meeting their own problems. We may assist individuals to help themselves, but to stand in the position at all times INSTEAD - does not always make for the greater development for those individuals! In meeting these, as we find, the better would be to have the more perfect understanding between the two, that have their own obligations to one another, to those conditions about them, and then abide by that which may be the activity. For that with the prayers of self and those in close accord with self will be those things that are NECESSARY for the indeed development of those that are as the principals in the circumstances and conditions, see? Get them together, then, after prayer of self. Let them KNOW they are their problems, not THINE alone but THEIR problems. Let the RESULTS of same be, then, in the hands of the divine forces that are capable of manifesting in the experiences of each.

12. (Q) If necessary should I resort to legal proceedings to force him to support the child? [[415]?] (A) This should only come after the more direct appeal to the good that is in the experience of every one. That there is good IS evidenced, though at times it may appear to be very far away. Yet it IS there; if appealed to in that manner in which it is the right of every one through not only the duties but the OPPORTUNITIES, the privileges! Then if he fails, proceed.

13. (Q) Advise me as to whether I should encourage my children, [263] and [361], to communicate further with their father in Atlanta, Ga.? (A) They each have received that within themselves that makes for the responsibilities upon their own individual activities. And these should be turned to them as their own problems. There may be advice and counsel, yes - but how? "As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." This is not merely a trite saying! It is a LIVING truth, that is known and read of all. Put thine self in the position of the other. How would thou advise? Then advise in THAT same manner; yet knowing and indicating to each that the activity is THEIR OWN responsibility. [See 303-1, Par. 11-A--15-A in re husband disappearing years ago.]

14. (Q) Should I encourage my sister, [Miss [307]], to accept work with the Federal Education? (A) We would! [See 307-1 Reports.]

303-6 Page 4

15. (Q) If so, when might she expect to go to work? (A) By the first!

16. (Q) First of what? (A) Month!

17. (Q) Present month or December? (A) It couldn't be the first of the present month, because it's passed!

18. (Q) Whom shall I contact that will be able to give my son [361] work on Saturday after school? [See his Life Rdg. 361-4 on 8/10/34.] (A) This would depend upon the character of work that is sought by the body. If in the direction of that which the body desires for its future activities, then choose in those connections that will bring into the experience of the body those things in that line of activity as would be in connection with the electrical activity forces. If just for the needs of the day, we would say rather with the D. P. organizations. [D. Pender Groceries, later became Colonial Stores.] If for those that would make for the better advancement in those activities in the social service, then in those things that appertain to those activities in the City organization of same would be the better channels.

19. (Q) Give me any spiritual advice that will help me to bring harmony in my work. (A) Let the rest in self, in body, in mind, in material, in social activities, be as one with the Lord in purpose, in aim, in desire. For these make for that peace, that harmony, that comes from knowing that each day, each hour is lived to the best of the knowledge and understanding of that thou wouldst present to thy fellows as the way of truth. This is not hard; only hard when one attempts to direct others or to say this or that must or must not be done. But rather what does thy heart and thy mind direct as being that you would have done to YOU in the same experience? Be gentle, be kind, be long-suffering, be patient; and ye will have these attributes shown thee by others.

20. (Q) Any advice to me regarding the home as a whole? (A) With the changes as we find necessary for the meeting of the conditions and the surroundings to carry on, it becomes necessary that each be a contributing factor to the caring for the needs in the material sense, but not to the detriment or to the laying aside of any of the spiritual forces or principles.

21. (Q) Any spiritual advice that will help me personally at this time? (A) Study to show thyself approved in that manner that thine own conscience does not smite thee.

22. (Q) Is there a possibility that we may learn to use the law that Jesus used in controlling those things material and spiritual to meet present needs? (A) This can be in the experience of all.
