Time of Reading 6:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Check Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: We have the body here - this we have had before, [304] we are speaking of. Now, we find there are changes in the physical forces of the body at present from that as we last had here. In MANY respects (though let it not be thought that the conditions are entirely eliminated), however, the body is in a BETTER condition, if the suggestions as may be given are followed out closely, to become nearer NORMAL than it has been for many, many days - in fact, YEARS.
2. The conditions, then, are at that stage that, were the equilibrium and the katabolism established nominally, the body would then function from a more nominal, normal, equalized force, see? These conditions, then, are existent at the present time:
3. As has been given in the various suggestions as made for this body, there are those conditions existent that - with the condition of the PHYSICAL being - these may not expect to be made YOUNG again; yet there are many of the life-giving, or PRODUCING, or sustaining elements in the general functioning, so ordered under present conditions that - if the bug is entirely eliminated (and it is under subjugation), the equilibrium, the coordination, and the katabolism established, we will find the body functioning in a more normal force, as has been seen.
4. This condition, then is that as is seen:
5. The liver, having been congested, and the pressure having been produced from such congestion on the lungs - that are already in a state of NEEDING all oxygen as they may obtain under normal conditions - these produce pressure about the heart forces, that - were SOME to examine the body, they would have told him he even had heart trouble; yet the condition is and was a purely reflex, as was seen in how that with the establishing even of a small part of a normal activity through the small intestines - and the hepatic circulation - the RELIEF in the body came almost in the
304-16 Page 2
moment the pressure was removed [osteopathically - by Thos. B. House, M.D., D.O.] from those ganglions in the 4th, 5th and 6th DORSAL plexus, and in the 11th, 12th, 10th dorsal plexus, see? Also the pressure, the strain as has been produced on the kidneys and the organs of the lower hepatic circulation, RELIEVED.
6. Now, what is the condition of a pressure on ANY organism - suddenly relieved - producing in a body? That of an unequalized, uncoordinating - and, as is termed - the katabolism, the metabolism, are unbalanced. Hence the tendency of the body to feel as if there were continued pulsations in various portions of the body, a weakening as of fatigue, as of running, or over-excitement, and the resultant forces of a pressure to the brain centers as governed by these, that cause an uneasiness.
7. Then, how to bring about - with the present conditions - that of the proper coordination, the proper katabolism, establishing the proper cooperation of the system, as existent:
8. With the continued for at least twenty to twenty-three more [osteopathic] manipulations (and later ADJUSTMENTS), we will find these will assist in keeping this balance; yet will continue to produce a feeling of pulsation in and about the lower portion of the diaphragm and the fullness at times to the head, and SOME dizziness, see?
9. Now these may be expected - but should gradually disappear, especially if the body will keep the upper intestines in such a condition as that these are not allowed to produce fermentation, or that of recrustation, in and about any of those portions of the turns in same, where either the liver end, the spleen end, or of the kidneys, are brought into such repression as to cause ANY of these to over function.
10. These may be done by the proper diet, by the proper exercise, and let this be more BELOW the diaphragm then above. That above necessary, of course, occasionally. That BELOW the diaphragm the more necessary to create this equilibrium, from the conditions as are being established in the body under the present conditions - [304] we are speaking of.
11. In the diet, then, we will find, as seen - these should be a mixed diet - but little of sweets. Vegetables, green and cooked. The starches in small quantities. As it were, try self out. One time they may disagree, the next time they will AGREE - provided the equilibrium is kept in eliminations through the small intestines and the pancreas is not given an overtaxing to do; for, nominally in the
304-16 Page 3
body, it is above the normal size - though not diabetic, no. In the activities of the various characters of food values, then: These should consist of meats, in moderation - lamb, wild game, beef (preferably the juices of same) - soups that are strengthening and that carry both the green and the cooked vegetables. Beans, green beans - lentils, spinach, celery, lettuce, potatoes in small quantities. No peas. Nothing that grows in pods. Those of fish in small quantities, preferably those of sea fish than fresh water fish. This for the salines necessary in system.
12. Keep sufficient of the oils as has been given, to prevent the system producing retraction in re-infection from those conditions as have been and are being removed. Well were small quantities of olive oil added with the pure oil, or Russian Oil, now - for food value to the live tissue. Do not take sufficient of either oil to become rancid in the system.
13. Well, too, that stimulants for the system be taken, in the form of those of HEPATICS - as is seen in small quantities of senna, podophyllin, or even better still of ambrosia weed. These should be taken occasionally, that the system itself may be brought to a normal equilibrium and not pressure on one portion at the expense of the other.
14. Keep in the open as much as possible, especially in sunlight. Well that the body act, or be active in same - but not in that exercising of arms, or of lower limbs even - to the extent to fatigue the body. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) Does the body need to take any more oil at present? (A) Until the system has been cleansed of those crustations in the intestines. Well that lubricants be taken.
16. (Q) What character of bug is it that is annoying this system at the present? (A) That called "flu", or incrustation.
17. (Q) What is the shape of this bug? (A) That as of what may be termed the mello (?) [meloe?] bug, or the crustacean bug, or the scarab.
18. (Q) Should the oil the body has taken be followed by soda? (A) Not necessarily, if the olive oil is begun in the next twenty-four to thirty-six hours in its stead, and the equalization through manipulation continued.
19. (Q) How much olive oil should be taken as a dose, combined with the mineral oil? (A) Take the olive oil about twice each day, about half teaspoonful pure olive oil - preferably we would say, nine and three. Take teaspoonful of the Russian Oil before each meal, provided the others are taken - but take sufficient of the oil at PRESENT, to cleanse the system - continuously.

Just so it does not react or regurgitate in the system. But enliven the liver and its active juices. Long time since there has been full response in the gall ducts in this body. Those of the properties to prevent the coughing or irritation [horehound, etc.], as has been given [in 304-7], will be well to be kept WHEN NECESSARY - but do not overtax this portion of the body by too MUCH of same, see? for they act in the form of a hypnotic, and ARE TO BE USED to produce that NECESSARY retraction that equalization may be a normal thing, not a pressure in one part without respect to another. The exercise in the lower limbs should consist rather of, when lying flat, swinging the lower part of the body gently from side to side. Lying prone, face down, turn the feet back as far as possible. THESE, and such, are the character of exercise that bring into play the muscles of the abdomen that are being RELEASED in a manner by the manipulations in the dorsal region, as will be seen.
20. (Q) Any other special exercise? (A) Take those for the upper portion of the body occasionally - arms, limbs - stooping and such, but NOT to the expense one of the other. The LOWER portion should be exercised of evening, the upper of morning - and NOT the upper of evening and the lower of morning.
21. That is all the questions.
22. With the adherence to these conditions, we will find the body will gain strength, and gain a normal equilibrium.
23. Do not OVERDO self as soon as it begins to feel better, by taxation, by inhalation of dust, or of ANY properties that will tax the bronchials or lungs. Do not get the feet wet - save to bathe them - of course bathe them - but don't get them wet outside. Do not get the head damp. Do not remain where drafts or cold will produce quick congestion, especially while these changes are taking place. Many years will be added to this life THROUGH the ADHERING to these suggestions.
24. This is Hill. [See 304-16, Par. R1.]
25. We are through with this reading.
