Time of Reading 4:05 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [308]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, in the main the general conditions are improved; though there is not perfect regularity in the eliminating channels of the body nor of the functioning organs as related to the glandular system.

4. There has not been sufficient of those corrective measures needed to change much from those things that have been indicated.

5. We would keep those precautions as to the regularity of eliminations, as well as the hours of activity, and - through these seasons - sufficient of the body corrections by the violet ray - or sun, sand, water and pines. These, with just sufficient of the Tonicine to keep corrective measures in those directions, should bring nearer to normal conditions for the body.

6. DO NOT take carbonated drinks to any excess.

7. DO eat ice cream and ices in sufficient quantities.

8. Malted milks, or malt mixed with milks, for this body, are preferable to the raw or cow's milk.

9. DO take Yeast tablets regularly. There should be taken at least two or three each day; preferably early in the morning and late in the evening. These will aid in bringing normalcy for developments and for better weight.

10. Do not worry as to whether you are fat or thin. Worry rather as to whether you use your body, mentally and physically, as an expression of thy ideal.

11. Have those periods for relaxation, for work, for recuperation - mentally, physically, spiritually. If these are set as rules of the mind AND the body, they will aid in keeping the better normal balance.

12. The body is good in its development, in its ability, in

its expectancy. Use all of thy virtues as creative influences in the lives of others, as well as to the appreciation of those blessings, those mercies which have been and are thy experience.

13. Do these, and we will keep the best physical, mental and spiritual forces for this body.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) Are my teeth in good condition? (A) These are better, though precautions should be taken as to them. We would use a good dentifrice that requires the massaging of the gums as well as for better preserving of the teeth. There is none better than an equal combination of soda and salt. Occasionally, however, use Ipana as a gum massage.

16. (Q) Any treatment necessary for the upper front tooth? (A) This is not in as good shape as yet as it should be. We would keep those activities for correction.

17. (Q) Would it be better if I changed from Dr. [C.B.] Gifford to another dentist recommended by you? (A) Not necessarily.

18. (Q) Is it still necessary to take sitz baths? (A) Not necessary! We just suggested them for the good of the body! If you don't want to take them, don't do it - but they would be well for the body! [See 308-7 Reports, Par. R4 indicating she did not know what a sitz bath was!]

19. (Q) What causes the ends of my hair to split and prescribe treatment necessary to correct this condition? (A) Lack of the proper activity of the thyroid gland. This is to be changed by NOT burning the hair, not taking too much of the oil out of the body, but by taking occasionally a little Atomidine - not too much, if the body is close to or upon the seashore regularly. But three days in succession during one week out of the month, take one drop in half a glass of water before the morning meal. Don't take it the rest of the time.

20. (Q) Would the massages given by Kinney's Beauty Salon in the Flatiron Bldg. aid in correcting the poor circulation in my body? (A) They would aid in correcting the poor circulation, but not any more than regular exercises and massages that would be given by self - if chosen to do them! Take the rolling exercise, and the C A T crawl, and stretching exercises morning and evening - you'll have a good circulation! It'll help many of those troubles! But don't do it once and then say "Well, I'm too tired this time," or "I'll put if off this time," but do it regularly!

308-8 Page 3

The rolling exercise is to put the head between the knees and let someone roll you over two or three times, see? The crawling exercise is to lie on the floor and crawl and stretch just as a cat would. But do it regularly if it is begun, or don't do it at all.

21. (Q) Should I take the Tonicine in the same dosage? (A) Keep in the same dosage as indicated, or sufficient only to keep regularity. But the stretching exercises as just indicated will aid in these directions also.

22. (Q) Anything I can do to take away knot on my ankle? (A) Massage with just Castor Oil, morning and evening.

23. (Q) What laxative should I take? (A) The diet and exercise, rather than any properties. If these are necessary, a combination of a vegetable or senna base is preferable. But do not rely upon these. Depend more upon exercise, and fruits and raw vegetables.

24. (Q) Which would be best for me to do: Go back to Montreat and try to finish in two years and then to William & Mary at Williamsburg, or go to Granby St. High for half a term, then to William & Mary extension in Norfolk for two years, and then to Williamsburg? (A) Are you asking for the BEST, or that you innately wish to do? As we find, going to the High, then to the Extension will be more in keeping with the desire. For the outlook eventually, go to Montreat. Choose yourself.

25. (Q) What hobby should I pursue? (A) Any that would pertain to calisthenics, athletics, or activities in the open. Horseback riding, golf, walking, swimming or the like.

26. (Q) What studies could I take up at school to fit me for activities pertaining to body, body-mind, body-relationships to individuals, to groups, to masses, as indicated in my Life Reading? [308-3] (A) The study of psychology in all of its forms.
