Time of Reading ... St., 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [311], present in this room, regarding information which has been given through these sources, and his material and mental affairs. You will answer the questions which he will ask regarding these, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [311], present in this room. Also information that has been given through these channels as respecting conditions and affairs, mental, physical and spiritual, of this entity, this body.

3. As we find respecting the information, there have - in the last few months - come many circumstances and conditions that have brought worriment, disappointment, anxiety; yet these in many respects have been in line with information that has been given; yet do not seem at times compatible with circumstances, or the material conditions that have existed through experiences of the body in some directions. There has been given also in the information through these channels that, that which the body desired sincerely might be builded by the attributes of the development of the body, would the body attune self to force such issues; and continued then to warn the body as to the manner of using or abusing influences that the body might wield in certain directions. No wonder, then, confusion has come at times! There have been many experiences of an unusual nature to the body since last information was given, as respecting the own mental and imaginative welfare; yet, as we find, much of the circumstances and the conditions as pertain to developments or changes for the body, in material, and in mental and spiritual welfare, REMAIN much in the position as has been outlined for the body.

4. Well that there be taken into consideration by the body, mentally, physically, materially, those experiences that have brought even the disturbances to the body, and the body recognize same as a force to be dealt with. While the mental and material balance has for the time appeared not to

311-8 Page 2

keep paralleled with those as the body has at times been led to expect, but expectancy and the ability to use are different things!

5. For the moment, then, Demetrius would philosophize on the situations - for the moment:

6. He that expects and puts his trust and faith in the Lord shall not be disappointed. He that would be double-minded may expect to be disturbed in the mental visions that are brought in the experience of such an one from time to time. The LAW is perfect. The flesh is weak. The spirit is willing. In making each compatible, then, an exercising of the prerogative that makes for the differentiation between an automaton and a living example is made manifest. He that has been faithful over a few things may be made ruler over many. Faint not because of disappointment. Rather use even failures as stepping-stones for gaining the greater vision of the light. The light that makes the path straight. Walk, then, in the light that is set by self as the ideal. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Ye will be enjoined one to the other. Keep thine counsel in many things. Be a good listener, and an EXCELLENT worker.

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Will the ... Railroad pull through this depression without going into receivership? (A) This, as we find, as has been indicated, depends a great deal upon the attitude of individuals as respecting the necessity of bringing about changes that would be necessary for the perfecting of consolidations that still seem imminent, that there may be received the proper recognition and consideration in those general conditions that must be stabilized before there will be any return of the definite and solid nature towards that of normalcy. As conditions exist in the present in the MINDS of individuals (that may change with a whim, or a wind, yet), these in the present - by the one - determined that it must pass through receivership. In ones that are still higher, that it is not necessary - especially so long as it is able to meet in a measure, their own overhead. While there has been a considerable falling off from anything near normalcy, when compared with the general conditions in the country - especially that portion of same which this particular system serves - is more favorable than some of those that in part serve the same or joining districts. As we would see from the present conditions (though, to be sure, this may be altered tomorrow), it would weather the storm.

9. (Q) Are the Van Sweringen interests going to take over

311-8 Page 3

the Norfolk Southern and will it be accomplished this year? (A) As we find indicated, this will eventually come to pass. Is it perfected in the present adjustments for these interests, will happen this year - in the middle or latter portion of same. As we find, there have been considerable discussions as to just which lines would be indicated in the outlet to this particular region. There have been negotiations for this to be included, and there have also been negotiations that this should furnish rather a trunk or an outlet eventually to another system, to which it is the greater indebted in the present. As to whether this will outweight that as will offer the system another outlet to the greater commercial center - of Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, Akron, and the like - to the sea in this direction - for eventually this port, [Norfolk, Va.] which is supplied by this special line, must become not only one to be reckoned with but one that is to surpass most of the others, on account of its adjustments for the various outlets to the centers of an ever growing country. When we take many of conditions that are to come about, that are of entirely different nature, this becomes a different story. This is, as given, as set in the MINDS of individuals who control the interest of Norfolk Southern.

10. (Q) Have negotiations been started yet for absorption of the Norfolk Southern by the Chesapeake & Ohio, and are Norfolk Southern officials aware of same? (A) This has been indicated, that there has been the approach. There are two reasons why, as given, that it should not be absorbed in this direction, to the one where it should. One, of course, being the difference between those of the Virginian and the ... [R.R.] in the supplying of the various sections, and while there may be the possibility that it will - rather, as we find, would it be the other than this; for to that trunk line giving an outlet and supplying for many directions, as we find, would be better. Negotiations, or indications, that it has been suggested - yes; we find it rather that it would weather through and be retained possibly by the other interests; though, as given, this may CHANGE!

11. (Q) How much longer will this general depression last and when will we begin to see a definite improvement? (A) In the Spring of '33 will be the real definite improvements. There will be periods, to be sure, of much better - and periods of 'all gone to pot!' - but the definite periods, as we find in the present, would be in the Spring of '33.

311-8 Page 4

12. (Q) What parts of the country will first show signs of a revival in business? (A) The southern and southwestern will be the better for some commercial interests. Those of other interests, as the Railroads, must be considered as adjustments are made in not only the relative valuations in stocks and bonds, and the like, these must come from the motive and steel interests. Hence will be spotted in eastern and western Pennsylvania, Ohio, and the MIDDLE West, with a considerable change in the far western portion of the country. This in the immediate vicinity, as indicated from the port as supplied by those that come to this particular port, will gradually be on the advance; for the safety, with the surety of not only shipping, but of the interests as will be represented in the foreign lands.

13. (Q) From answer given me in my reading of Feb. 27th [311-7] I judge I will definitely make some business change in 1932. Is this correct? (A) As has been indicated, we find will be correct - and, as was given, as to just the manner of making the change, whether as the same lines with promotions or demotions, or whether into entirely different fields - yet with a touch, or the use of the present knowledge, depends a great deal upon that chosen by the body in those periods when there comes those opportunities for these changes.

14. (Q) What are the two lines of association with [943] that are of interest to me? [See 311-7, Par. 9-A on 2/27/32.] (A) These have been, as we find, more or less of a spasmodic interest. At times reaching that where there might be an entire change in the associations that would pertain to those things that were MADE, or were contacted for. Then there are those interests as require more in the MENTAL world of associations. These have been rather of the spasmodic interest. They had both better be more of the concrete nature before definite changes were made, for there are offered in mental change through those associations of fields that have long been of greater interest, that which - if chosen - would be much the improvement. While those in the commercial nature, or more of that direction, do not offer - in the immediate years - a great development, under the existent conditions.

15. (Q) Please explain further answer to question eleven in reading given me Feb. 27th. [See 311-7, Par. 11-A.] (A) Well this, as has just been given, opens the way for the understanding or elucidation to own self on these questions - see?

16. (Q) What are the necessary developments and when will

311-8 Page 5

they come about to make the changes mentioned? (A) When conditions are more stabilized, or the interest of self has been changed sufficient to warrant that there be the exploration of self into these other fields - see?

17. (Q) Would it be incorrect for me to request information regarding buying or selling stocks listed on the N.Y. Stock Exchange? (A) Not incorrect; but the information - unless there is an understanding first gained - may bring rather that of disastrous conditions to the body. Once understood - their relative relations understood - the body would be a very good one to deal in such, and keep the head - but understand the law, or do not attempt same!

18. (Q) Please explain this more fully. (A) The abilities of the body in the direction of being one that would deal in such commodities and keep his head, without becoming panicky, is evident - but to use such information through psychic sources as to deal in same, unless the LAW of same - see - both that as pertains to numbers, names, and those of stocks and the like - is understood, be very inadvisable!

19. (Q) How soon will the changes in the earth's activity begin to be apparent? (A) When there is the first breaking up of some conditions in the South Sea (that's South Pacific, to be sure), and those as apparent in the sinking or rising of that that's almost opposite same, or in the Mediterranean, and the Aetna area, then we may know it has begun. [See 5752-3 in re creation, etc.]

20. (Q) How long before this will begin? (A) The indications are that some of these have already begun, yet others would say these are only temporary. We would say they have begun. '36 will see the greater changes apparent, to be sure.

21. (Q) Will there be any physical changes in the earth's surface in North America? If so, what sections will be affected, and how? (A) All over the country we will find many physical changes of a minor or greater degree. The greater change, as we will find, in America, will be the North Atlantic Seaboard. Watch New York! Connecticut, and the like.

22. (Q) When will this be? (A) In this period. As to just when -

23. (Q) What, if any, changes will take place around Norfolk area, Va? (A) No MATERIAL, that would be effective to the area, other than would eventually become more beneficial - in a port, and the like.

311-8 Page 6

24. (Q) Is the Rosicrucian Order, Amorc, fully aware of the impending changes in the earth's activities, and is it taking proper steps to meet these conditions? (A) This, to be sure, would involve many of those that are secrets, or for many of only initiates for this particular order. There is being a concerted effort to warn those of that particular trend of thought in the direction, though the period as is mostly given, as we find, BEGINS then and goes on - rather than being the period of the greater change, as is being taught by these - see? Some of these, it's best not to give, for we would involve others; for some here are not initiates!

25. (Q) Give the names of the Railroads, besides C & O and Virginia, that are interested in acquiring the ... [R.R.]. (A) Southern, Pennsylvania - as already owns or controls, and those that would be included in the New York Central combine. This is all jumbled together, as has been indicated - or as is known by the body - and those that have been interested in same - but the general is that it must either be through the control of those of the Van Sweringen lines, or the C & O and its subsidiaries, or remain in control - and which would let an outlet for the Pennsylvania.
