R E A D I N G
Time of Reading Va. Beach School for Boys, 3:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Virginia Beach, Va.
1. GC: You will have before you the bodies and enquiring minds of [317] and [267], present in this room, who come seeking advice and counsel as to the future welfare and development of the Virginia Beach School for Boys. You will give any suggestion, advice or counsel that will be of benefit to them at this time in carrying on, and you will answer the questions they will ask regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the bodies, the enquiring minds, [317] and [267] - present in this room; also those conditions and problems that confront them at this time concerning the carrying on of the school for boys.
3. In considering the conditions as confront them at this time, there should not be any doubt in the minds of these as concerning the carrying on of that being undertaken; for those efforts, those abilities in each, in ministering, in counseling with, in carrying on such an undertaking, have been received in the hearts, the minds, the consciousness, of many.
4. As to, then, the manner and way that such is to be accomplished, becomes the problem at the present time. There, then, are channels, are individuals, are groups, to whom the bodies SHOULD appeal at the present time; not so much for the financial backing as for the moral, and the active service of individuals in gaining, and in gaining from these, those aids in assisting these to gain that help THROUGH THEIR ministering to the needs of individuals seeking such a place, a school, a surrounding, and the abilities of such for the instruction of, the guidance of, such as these.
5. Then, through [165], through Mrs. [459] and her ASSOCIATES - who HAVE made, who ARE making, a specialty study in such lines, such conditions; through Mr. [322], through Mr. [378], through Kohler [?], and such - these, by the solicitation of [317], will come to the assistance IN a way AS to make not ONLY the coming sessions, but there may

be a DEFINITE working out of larger possibilities, bettered facilities, and - as we find - in the coming seasons, that as would be worth while for all.
6. In appealing, let it be known - not as connection WITH, but as an AFFILIATION with - the sources THROUGH whom [EC] each have sought counsel, and who will heed and harken to the call in the present conditions. Do that.
7. Well were it that these be done at once, and that an arrangement be made for a getting together of one or more of these who are interested, ESPECIALLY in the associates of Mrs. [459] - who works with BOYS, and with those in the way and manner for their mental, physical, and SPIRITUAL development. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Should these be seen or approached by letter? (A) As has been given, the first approach will be by correspondence; later there would be arrangements for a personal consultation, a personal APPLICATION of what the OUTCOMES are to be. These individuals as given, to be sure, have their own problems, but MANY of their problems are in placing children, boys, of their own constituencies, or associations, in JUST such an environ or institution. This will work well for the summer school, too, later; for it may be made a large PERMANENT camp.
9. (Q) What should be done to secure a greater income for the current year? (A) Get more pupils. Get more solicitations through those who will be more PAYING members!
10. (Q) Can the school be built up through obtaining scholarships? (A) Obtaining scholarships, and also as will be through THESE channels, as we find - there will be built up SPONSORSHIPS! which is even better than scholarships, in this particular CHARACTER of institution, as will be found. Do not take no for answers from these, for these will have their work set before them, and each will see there is an insight, there IS a duty that each must perform for the present needs and necessities, and that these are not as gifts in the present - but as for services, as for abilities, as for facilities, as for places, and the like. Do that.
11. (Q) Where should be the permanent location of the school, and what steps should be taken to this end? (A) As WE find, as these conditions are set in motion, there will be the abilities for approach to those WHO have been somewhat interested, yet somewhat lax - or lacking - in interest shown, on account of the seeming indifference in

certain quarters, or other quarters; yet this begun in a manner that interests are shown by those who have given much time, much thought, for the selecting of, the developing of, such channels, such institutions for such trainings, will bring again that active interest in the undertaking. Much of that near the same place on which it is now located may be made PERMANENT quarters, with the facilities for handling same in a much more satisfactory way and manner.
12. (Q) To whom can we turn for immediate financial aid? (A) Through these same channels may there be had at least that necessary for the immediate financial aid, as the approach to some of these will bring an approach to others in the same associations and connections who will desire to do something in the immediate. Through Miss [1742].
13. (Q) Shall we consider the offer of [...] of the Bird Neck Realty Corporation to accept a lot on condition we erect a house on it? (A) With these connections established, with these associations that will bring about a different environ, as we find, for the bodies [317] and [267], we will find that this would be very well, to accept a little bit LATER. Do not jeopardize self by allowing same to be put in a position where it may be taken away before there are the possibilities of carrying same all through - see?
14. (Q) Is [...], agent of the Bird Neck Realty Corporation, a man to whom we can trust our best interests? (A) So long as it's to his own interests, yes! When there is a question as to whether it is taking advantage OF, or that there would be others but, you see, with this CHARACTER of connection, there will be an establishing of an association and a connection that to the REALTY corporation will be an asset! Hence will be one that will be ready to help, even where it has been lukewarm heretofore!
15. (Q) Would it be well to re-open negotiations with [...]? (A) Hard man to deal with! Unscrupulous in some directions!
16. (Q) What can be done to make the Virginia Beach School for Boys of greater service to the boys now enrolled? (A) When there is that feeling of an EASING of the minds of those that are interested in, and who minister TO the needs of, those already enrolled, there will be greater service, by the application of those principles - for the PRINCIPLES are right! Hence it has been heard of, and received favorable comment and favor. When these are loosed, as it were, the abilities, without being extravagant in ANY manner, will come TO those so ministering. Be not of little faith. Know that the ministry of others is LENDING to Him,
