1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the improvement of same. You will also answer any questions regarding same I might ask you.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before, you see. [JT's note: This refers to [318]'s mother's physical reading, 780-5.]
3. Now, the development of the body (for the body is developing now in the physical plane, we see), of the physical forces in the body, is being in that way and manner of being hindered in the proper functioning of the digestion and assimilating forces in the body, produced, as is seen, by too much of certain elements and too little of others in the nourishment obtained from the mother, see? in the feeding.
4. The condition, then, should be overcome by supplying to the body through that of a mechanical preparation of food, to supply that lacking in the food taken from nursing the mother, until the body, (the physical force of the mother) is builded by the diet and by the general physical condition to that position to where the nutriment that will agree with the forces of the system will be developed, see?
5. Then, we would add the properties of those found in Mellin's food, as prepared for the infant in that stage of its development, adding a little lime water (half teaspoonful to the bottle, see?) and giving one drop of Glyco-Thymoline as the disinfectant to the intestinal system from that too strong astringent that is taken in the system and that causes so much of the gas and the disturbance in the body at present, see?
6. Then, to build the body of the mother [See 780-5, Par. R6] to those properties that will give the proper nourishment (for this will be of the greatest assistance to the developing forces of the child proper, see? from the mother), give those properties in the system that cleanses the system of astringents, see? Taking such solutions as
318-1 Page 2
that of plain Phosphate of Soda, to which is added - that is, teaspoonful to a full glass of water each morning, until the system is thoroughly cleansed - adding in this five to ten drops Syrup of Sarsaparilla; with every third dose taken one drop Rectified Oil of Turp, see? This will cleanse the system of the mother, see?
7. The diet [for the mother, [780]] should be those of the tuberous nature in vegetables, and GREEN vegetables. Much of the lettuce and celery and potatoes. Not too much meats. Plenty of milk and chocolate and of those fat giving, though do not have too much of the astringent foods, see?
8. Then, in the course of the changes in the condition in the infant, TRY the nursing from time to time. Not ANY while the properties are being taken to cleanse the system, see? Do that, and we will find we will bring the conditions normal for this body [780] and for the developing child, [318], see?
9. Feed at the regular intervals. Change or modify the food as is necessary to make agree with the conditions, see? Giving the medicinal properties that change the conditions in the intestinal tract, as is necessary; that is, the lime water and the Glyco, see? for we do not want sour stomach, neither do we want to produce too much of that condition where the assimilation is not of a normal nature. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) How often should the Glyco-Thymoline be given? (A) Just as given, was given when it is necessary, once to twice - perhaps sometimes necessary THREE times each day, see? given before feeding.
11. (Q) Should the baby not nurse the mother while this food is being given? (A) While the mother is taking the medicinal properties only should the baby not nurse at times, see? See, baby may be given from food and back from mother. TRY the conditions, see? for sometimes will agree and at others won't.
12. (Q) Would it be better for the baby to nurse the mother one feeding and have the Mellin's food the next feeding, or half of each? (A) Half of each, as long as the baby will nurse, WHEN the mother is in the condition to. See, the mother should bring about the conditions of self as soon as possible, see? Not nurse at all during the time the medicinal properties are taken, which should take at least two to three days.
13. (Q) What special way should the Mellin's food be prepared for the baby at this time? (A) In accordance with those instructions as are given as
318-1 Page 3
to how the modifications are to be made for the various conditions, see? This is necessary of modification, as well as the medicinal properties, to produce the condition in system so modification will act with the conditions existent, see? More milk, less Mellin's food (when the laxness, see?). More of Mellin's food to produce laxness in system, see? for when there's too much laxness not enough assimilation. When too much of the tautness or astringent condition not enough proper assimilation and too many toxins left in system, see?
14. (Q) Would it be better to boil the milk that is used with the Mellin's food? (A) Boil or heat, as is given, you see. Still keep up those conditions for the child in its development as is set for that condition in eye and that about the umbilicus, see? We are through for the present.
