1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, the inflammation in the nerve forces of the body, which has been indicated, shows a great deal of irritation that in varied cycles of functioning through the system causes or produces a great deal of pain to the body.
3. These, as we find in the present, will be greatly assisted (in relieving the pain) if there is applied to those centers especially in the 4th and 5th dorsal area those applications found with bathing the portion of the body (that is, in the 3rd, 4th and 5th dorsal area) with tincture of laudanum and then applying a saturated solution of Epsom Salts as hot as the body may bear; for periods of one or one and a half hours, taken every fifteen to twenty minutes - that is, changing the cloths - WHEN the pain is severe, see?
4. Then, general manipulation over the CERVICAL area with the electrically driven vibrator, using the sponge applicator; followed immediately, when the vibrator is used (which we would use every day) with the violet ray, see? The violet ray would be applied over the cervical (not over the dorsal, or those portions that have been bathed, but the cervical area, back of head and face, or along the line of the FIFTH nerve that comes to the head - especially on the right side of head, down to - of course, LEFT side of the body - the 5th, 6th CERVICAL center, and up along the tendon portion of the muscles of the head and neck, see? There will be times when the application of the violet ray will apparently produce irritation, but with the QUIETING of the body this will be most helpful.
5. When it becomes necessary, have for the body the eighth or quarter grain of codeine. This is as mild a sedative and hypnotic as may be taken without becoming habit forming. Of course, it will be necessary for this to be prescribed by a physician.

6. Ready for questions.
7. (Q) Please tell me if I have failed to carry out the suggestions in former readings, and advise me what to do to be cured. (A) This can best be found by analyzing the activities of self, especially as related to cold, congestion, and activities of the body when feeling extra well. The body should realize that this character of disturbance has long been very baffling to the medical fraternity, from the very nature of the inflammation and its base - or its cause. The treatments that we have given are reaching to the basic forces of the condition; these are palliatives, not cure-alls by any means, for curatives must be from the renewal by the activity - or the renewals of vitality in the system.
8. (Q) My leg is giving me trouble. Please give cause and cure. (A) Reflex from the nerve forces in those portions of the system where contractions are produced, by the muscular reaction - or from tic. The aiding in this will be the general cure, or general application of the violet ray. This should be taken over ALL of the system (these specifically as given), and the whole treatment combining fifteen to twenty minutes - or especially to the LOWER portion.
9. (Q) What is the cause of my stomach hurting me? (A) Nervous contraction from the conditions generally in system. We have given the helpful conditions for it.
10. (Q) Has my home responsibilities anything to do with my inability to build up? [See 326-4, Par. R1.] (A) Has much to do, for that's just been intimated. The worry and indecisions at times, and the ACTIVITIES, cause a great deal of reaction to the nervous system; and it is a NERVE condition - INFLAMMATION of the nerve - that is causing the disorder! Follow these suggestions, as well as those for the general conditions; and the MENTAL ATTITUDE of the body as to self and its surroundings, creating for the mental forces the environs to become constructive rather than dilatory or retro-active.
