Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [337]; this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, there are many conditions that show changes, in the general physical forces of the body, from that we have had here before. While not all of these are as serious as we have had them here, there are some conditions that have been of long standing - or the impulse and tendency for those conditions to cause distress, that were in the greater part relieved - that, under strain - and not wholly neglected, but from the stopping or the not carrying on towards those things that were suggested - have made for returns of specific conditions in a more aggravated form and manner.
3. These are indicated, as we find, in those conditions that exist in the present relative to the appendicial and caecum area in colon, and the general conditions of the body as related to the nerve conditions - that produce the nerve exhaustion by irritation of those conditions that hinder the proper eliminations, and cause such irritations as to produce the using up of vitality and energy in the system.
4. As we would find then, under the existent conditions, there would be faster and more reaction for betterment in the conditions of the body were there the removing through operation those conditions where various portions are affected; that is, the caecum or appendicial area, and the thinned walls of the abdominal regions, and these corrected through operative measures. For, conditions in the blood supply now are nearer to those balances where there may be brought the nearer coordination for the proper coagulation to take place in system from such measures - see? While there were so many disorders existent that showed the condition of the blood supply to be such as to prevent proper coagulation, the operative measures would have been bad. Under the strains the conditions have become specific
337-21 Page 2
and more serious, and are the aggravating CAUSES of the conditions that have disturbed the body. Then, as we find, the operative forces would be better.
5. For those conditions where there has been the attempt to scatter or to produce absorption of the abrasions, or the tendencies for the conditions to accumulate in the epidermis [the fatty tumor] itself or in specific centers themselves, we would - during the period when the operative measures are taken - prepare the following:
6. To 2 ounces of pure mutton tallow, re-rendered (that means purified, see?), melted - and as it is melted, or during the period when it is heated to that point where it is liquid, we would add (not when it's boiling, but when it is at least the temperature of 110 to 120) in this order the following: Spirits of Turpentine..................30 minims, Spirits of Camphor.....................60 minims, Oil of Sassafras.......................15 minims. Stir this together well. Massage this, or with this, over and around these portions of the abrasions that give distress; and we will absorb and remove those hindering conditions.
7. We would be mindful that the diet is kept in that way and manner where not too much fats of any nature are taken, but citrus fruits - cereals, milks (preferably, though, the dried milk or malted milk, or the like) - and when these are taken they will carry sufficient of the fats or oils for the body. None of those properties that come from the nut oils, or the like, though vegetable oils may be taken in dressings and in those things that come naturally from the vegetable diet. Quantities of GREEN vegetables are well for body, also. When meats are taken (which should be rather in moderation at all times), either mutton or fowl would be better; these, however, should never be fried but rather roasted, broiled, or the like. Fish in small quantities at times may be taken, preferably boiled or broiled - NOT fried. There may be taken, of course, cereal drinks - or coffee in moderation may be taken at times.
8. These, as we find, of course, would follow the diet that would be naturally prescribed under the operative measures or periods; that is, the above outline for diet would follow in the recuperative period.
9. Keep in the open as much as possible. There will be necessitated, of course, a period of rest following such measures, for recuperation.
10. Cleanse the system - not by purging, but rather by the
337-21 Page 3
hydrotherapy methods - before the operative measures are resorted to; but the operation would be the better.
11. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) Has the body been ruptured? (A) It has been, rather as we have given before. There is the tendency, because of the weakened conditions in the abdominal walls, for the folds of the walls to separate. In weakened conditions, or strained conditions of any kind, these follow in their natural cycle of change - and have shown tendencies in this direction, by the condition in the groin and lower abdominal portion of system.
13. (Q) What is the condition of the appendix? (A) Rather congestion, without too great or an excessive amount - at present - of inflammation; but this tends to make for those periods of nausea that occur, and with any undue exercise would cause serious conditions.
14. (Q) Is Dr. Graussman best suited to perform the operation? (A) Efficient and capable, and - as we find - would understand and comprehend the needs of the body at the present time.
15. (Q) What is the condition of the fatty tumor? (A) As indicated by those things given for the portions of the body where these troubles arise in the system, this is at the present time showing tendencies of taking of the general condition of a depleted system. Hence the use of those things that have been indicated.
16. (Q) What has caused the pain in the left eye recently? (A) This, as we find, is more from reflex conditions of poisons and accumulations in the system, and the effect changes from one portion to another by strain, cold or the like - and is a reflex condition. With the correction of other conditions of the more serious nature, such would disappear.
17. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) These we would follow, and we would give that - as soon as there can be the proper cleansing, or preparation - the operative measures would be better. We would do that.
