Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [338]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, while there are some changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here, there would be a better reaction if those suggestions that were indicated heretofore had been followed more closely.
3. While the reactions from those disturbances for the balancing of the elements in the assimilating forces of the body have made for changes, these have been changed somewhat by not only the change in the environment but the change in the mental attitude towards conditions and towards surroundings. And these naturally have their beneficial effects.
4. But those tendencies for the system to become surcharged make for periods when the activities to the nervous system produce the headaches, the general tired feeling, the poor eliminations as arise, the lack of the lymph circulation through the whole of the alimentary canal as well as in the activities to the extremities of the body.
5. These we find would be materially aided if there were less of those congested portions that have formed into some minor lesions, some deeper lesions, along the cerebrospinal system. If these were relaxed in the manner as has been indicated, [osteopathically] this would add very materially to the reactions that would become most beneficial to the general physical forces of the body.
6. If these were followed, then, we would find many of those disturbing forces disappearing, that have been at times reactionary; these would gradually lose their effect. For the change would make for those vibratory forces from the circulation to the assimilations, and with the keeping of the diets and the activities in nominalcy would bring normal forces for the body.
7. That we would do.

8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) What can I do to help the condition of my eyes as I have severe headaches the day after I read? (A) This is another of those indications where the needs are for the deep manipulations in those specific areas as make for the associations of activities in the circulatory forces from those influences of the assimilating system. The reactions from the upper dorsal and throughout the cervical area from this character of treatment would relieve these pressures most perceptibly. We may get some stimulation also with the use of the violet ray in connection with the manipulative forces, but do not use same WITHOUT having the manipulative forces - for it would only make for a temporary reaction that would make for an aggravation of the condition later on. So, we would take two deep manipulative treatments each week for say three weeks; with special reference to the congested forces in the 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 1st dorsal and through the cervical area. Then once a week apply (by self) the violet ray (hand machine), using the double eye applicator. Do not use too long nor at too great a speed; but close the eyes, turn OFF the ray, and with it attached place the appliance or the anode or applicator over the eye and then GRADUALLY turn on - and only sufficient for the FEELING of the effect of these vibrations upon the eyes themselves. Then the next morning after these vibrations have been used (and the applicator would not remain on longer than a minute, you see), cleanse the eyes with a weak solution of an antiseptic nature that may make for the clearing of the eyes themselves. The eyewash as Murine is very good, or the Acids [Boracic Acid?] that are of a mild form are very good, or the Lavoris - though we would use it only half strength. These we find would be most helpful.
10. (Q) How many hours is it logical to work without injuring my eyes or health? (A) The character of the employment of mind and of activities of the body makes for quite a variation in these; that is, the length of time would depend upon that character of work or concentration, you see. In the activities for THIS body, that make for the greatest of its experiences in the interpretations of its own deeper emotions [art work],
338-5 Page 3
there should be two to three hours of work in the morning, then two to three to four hours in the afternoon.
11. (Q) Please outline a method which I can reduce my weight. [GD's note: [338] was noticeably overweight.] (A) Use the Radio-Active Appliance and also take those exercises that are termed the setting-up exercises. The exercises would be in this manner: Of an evening, use more of those from the waist down; of morning those from the waist up. Of evening when resting, after the activity of the day - not just before retiring, but rest for an hour before taking up any recreational activity as of reading or entertainment of other natures, and during this hour of rest use the Radio- Active Appliance for coordinating the vibrations of the system. With these we will find we will not only make for the proper reduction in the weight but make for a balance throughout the activities that there will be more pep, more "ginger" as it were in all the activities of the body. In the diets keep close to those that have been indicated. Be cautious of the combinations, rather than the characters of foods, see? Do not have citrus fruits or the acid fruits WITH starches at the same meal. Do not have too much of proteins with the acids, for there is a variation in the character of the reactions in the system; that is, between the hydrochloric and the lacteals. The hydrochloric becomes necessary in proteins, see? As do the alkalin for starches. Yet when these are combined improperly, there is the lack or the excess of one or the other in the system, thus producing an unbalancing and making for excesses in the activities of glandular forces in many ways and manners. Hence these are a portion of the considerations in keeping proper balance in weight, proper balance in activity and in eliminations.
12. (Q) How can I overcome the nervous habit I have, of picking at my face? (A) If there is created the proper balance in the circulatory forces, the nervous tensions are removed. Do not consider that the lesion which causes much of the nervous pressure (that exists in the lumbar area and the 9th dorsal) does not affect the locomotories or the cardiac plexus [See 338-5, Par. R3; ltr. of 8/11/37 in re heart attack] and the activities of the nerve forces towards the face. For the nervous system is as one system of electrical energies or forces through the system. With these balances
338-5 Page 4
created by the removal of the pressures, and especially as in the assistance from the violet ray to the optic centers for coordinating those activities by the removal of pressures in the upper dorsal and cervical that take the nervous reactions to the face and head, and then with the Radio- Active vibrations, we will find the habit may be easily eliminated.
13. (Q) What will be the span of my life here, so that I may plan accordingly? (A) One can make that almost what one wishes! It is true that with each atom as it is separated in conception there is given a vibratory force that has its extenuation in the general activities through a system, or the span set. Some individuals hold that the day of demise is set with the day of birth, yet if this were so men would become only an automaton. But will and the purpose or desire, with the activities in its relationships to what has been the promise - "Honor - that thy days may be long in the land which the Lord, thy God, giveth thee," make for the setting of the time. Then, as individuals purpose and make the activities of the life and the experience become more and more helpful, more and more beneficial to others, that promise becomes effectual in the experience. As has been indicated, the natural span in the present indications is threescore and ten, yet there may be added to this individual entity some other score and ten, through the effectual activity by the individual purposes in its relationships to Creative Forces.
14. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) Much might be given the entity in the relationships to its activities and its physical body, and the mental activities in its relationships to its fellow man. But as has been indicated, if these are kept in a CONSTRUCTIVE manner, so that not only being good is sufficient but being good FOR SOMETHING is held in the inner self, then much more pleasant and enjoyable and harmonious may become all the periods of opportunity in the relationships to others; becoming a thing of beauty and a joy forever.
