1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [348], present in this room. You will give any physical suggestions that would be helpful to this body at the present time, and answer the questions which we will ask you regarding all phases of the body's life, especially concerning employment and proper location and contact for same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [348], and those conditions, those associations, as surround same. There may be much advice. That as desired is activity. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) What line of business should body engage in to be most successful? (A) This, as we find, under the existent conditions, is not to be WHOLLY adhered to - for that which is most desired by the body under existent conditions will require some time, some association, and some connections TO be attained, or gained. As to the line, or in those channels which the body would make the greater success for SELF, as we find, would be in hotel management, or in those of apartmental, or such. These, under the existent conditions [in Va. Beach] - when changes are made - These, as we find, are in the greater measures contracted for, as in the present time. Hence will require some patience, some acceptance of those conditions or surroundings which may not be altogether satisfying, but will the body [if the body will] make such connections, such associations, as will ENABLE the body - in the changes as may be made in the next three to six months - will make for the BETTER line for the body in its advancement in those connections. Then, it may be possible that the acceptance of minor positions - or even of associations in other connections - may be necessary for the body to attain, or to gain that as is desired - but make contacts, make associations - for, as seen, in DIFFERENT positions or conditions in the country, different periods are the beginning of years, and contracts are made - or agreements

are reached - in those periods, unless changes arise. Most of these, as we find, run in chains - or in the directions where they become interchangeable in the activities of such managerial conditions, see?

4. (Q) What steps should be taken to secure the proper position for this body? (A) Just as outlined. Make those contacts in the various centers where the body would desire to make such contacts. Do not be TOO much of a just accepting anything, but do not be too much of a chooser, but know that that which IS accepted is in line WITH that place, position, connection, association, as desired.

5. (Q) Is it advisable for body to go to New York for an interview, and what special firm should he see there? (A) Be advisable, and there are many contacts to be made through various channels. While many have been filled, these will lead to SATISFACTORY connections and associations in some of the lines or channels.

6. (Q) Is there a better place than New York for this body? (A) That's for the BODY to choose! For the environmental conditions, for the climactic conditions, for those that have to do most with the associations and relations - these the BODY should make.

7. (Q) Would it be advisable to follow up correspondence the body had with Chas. P. Becker of Cincinnati, relative to position at the Phelphs? (A) Sure, follow up! Then if it offers that as is desired - a change here, however, would not be made before the 15th or 16th of January - and there will be a change.

8. (Q) Can this body gain help from [Mr. [257]], a friend, in New York City? (A) He may through the connections and ASSOCIATIONS, rather than from the body himself.

9. (Q) What apartment hotel in New York could give this body a position as manager, and how can it be best approached? (A) That's to be sought. To give one what would be is to overshadow that which is to be sought. Seek if ye would find. Knock if it would be opened. So fit, so prepare, so connect self - in associations and relations - as to be the CHOOSER; not be as one driven in to accept or to take whatever may be presented!

10. (Q) How can Mrs. [340] [his wife] assist this body in his work? (A) Keep her mouth shut, and keep quiet! Don't worry, or nag.

11. (Q) Any advice regarding the physical condition of the body? (A) Much may be given in that connection. Best be given in

348-7 Page 3

the physical, rather than from an association of individuals.

12. (Q) Any other advice that will be of benefit to the body at this time? (A) Know in self that as is desired. Know that, in the various contacts as may be made, there is that one, two, three, with which - and associated with which - the body may be able to serve in such a manner as to be helpful to many, and at he same time gain for self that success in the material things of life, as will bring for that contentment - if the mental forces are kept in accord WITH that as is desired. Let desire be not of material things alone. We are through. Copy to Self " " Wife Two copies to Ass'n office but one given to Mr. [257]
