Time of Reading ... Ave., 4:05 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Tenn. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: [348], yes. We have the body here; this we have had before.

2. As we find, there are those disturbing conditions that need careful consideration.

3. First, for a long period there have been those inclinations for a diathetic [diathesis, catarrhal?] condition - or a diarrhea, or an overactivity of the lymph circulation through the alimentary canal.

4. This tends to weaken the system, naturally prevents a gaining of vitality as a stored energy.

5. Then, with the poisons that accumulate, and that are added by the condition of the teeth - which should have local condition - there is produced an indigestion, and an overflow of the gastric juices in this particular condition.

6. All of these conditions, then, must be taken into consideration.

7. First, then, we would have the teeth - the mouth conditions - corrected.

8. Begin with a small piece of Alum Root (dried) to be put in the mouth and chewed - a little piece of this the size of an English pea - put in the mouth about half to three-quarters of an hour after each meal, and gradually chewed - and the juice swallowed. This will gradually correct the condition through the digestive system.

9. We would find the taking of a digestant preferable to that of soda. Those properties prepared by the American Ferment Company, as we find, would be well - the Alcaroid; about a quarter teaspoonful in a whole glass of water (first dissolved in a small quantity, then the whole glass added, then another glass taken afterwards), about fifteen to twenty minutes after each meal.

10. Then if there is the consideration of the diet - which is very good, though do not take too much starches - we would find the condition being corrected.

11. Occasionally - not regularly, but occasionally - a thorough manipulation osteopathically would be most beneficial.

12. Do that.

13. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) What causes the tightness of muscles, and how may this be corrected? (A) This is a combination of reactions from the overflow of the gastric juices or the lymph through the intestinal system; and is a part of the general debilitation, which will be aided and assisted by the properties from the Alum Root, you see; as well as the help that will come from a better assimilation by the digestive forces from the use of the Alcaroid that will aid in digesting the foods taken. Also the rubs will assist in allaying the tickling sensation that produces the inclination for a cough through the sympathetic system. Hence the manipulations when given (once a week, once in ten days, something of that nature, and these specifically in the cervical and the upper dorsal, only correcting gently the lumbar axis) will make for an equilibrium in the system. Do this.
