Time of Reading 3:20 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body & enquiring mind, in regard to her physical and mental well-being. Questions)

1. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [349]; this we have had before.

2. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) What is my physical health generally at present time? (A) The general physical conditions of the body are much improved from those that we last had here.

However, there are still those existent conditions that make for disturbances in the general system, that have not be wholly eliminated, from those conditions that have existed some time back.

While in the present they do not present such disturbing conditions, unless these are eliminated there may be expected not only disturbances in the general nerve system (arising from impingements that still exist in some centers), but these will become of such natures as to more and more disturb the functioning of organs of the system; and we have shown how - as given - that there has not been established the full equilibrium between the eliminating channels of the physical body.

As we find, then, these are conditions in general at present:

Along the cerebrospinal system there are still those specific centers that tend to make for disturbances of this nature; those impingements that exist in a reflex manner in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area; those that make for a general disturbance in the digestive system, causing a nervous indigestion - so that the body at times is irritable, the body expresses these irritabilities through those reactions that are incapable - without proper physical functioning - to be other than irritating in their effect

349-13 Page 2

upon the physical forces, as related to the mental activities of the body.

Not that the body isn't quick enough in its mental reactions, but rather inclined (from the pressure) to be supersensitive as to reactions; and under such conditions foods taken, no matter of what nature, tend to form too much of an overflow of the gastric juices, producing hydrochloric acid of too great a quantity in the digestive system, making gas through the whole system - an acid condition. An acid condition makes the blemishes that appear on portions of the body at times, tending to form sort of a rash or spots, and at other times a disturbance throughout the digestive system.

Also there is that tendency for the body at times to become, as it were, suddenly very tired, very much fagged, very much worn - as it were - in its physical and mental reactions.

These, as we have given, are effects; not causes.

Hence, as we have given, the character of corrections should be in line with that which has been outlined for the body.

Rest, with some reactions of a nature that will make for the corrections in this portion of the system; that is, the upper dorsal and cervical area.

4. (Q) What diet? (A) For this body, as we find, it should be rather a well balanced diet, tending - though - towards the alkalin. Hence these would be rather those foods NOT to eat:

Meats, or any condiments, that are highly seasoned - see? No onions (raw), radishes or things of that nature. These cooked, or prepared in other ways, may be taken. Very little or no sweets. Very little candies of any kind, unless those that are of the saccharin; NOT those of the corn starch, corn syrup or sugar cane products. The sugars taken should preferably be beet sugar, even when taken in small quantities as for coffee, tea or the like - see?

Use a well balanced vegetable diet. Or, this would be as a sample - though, to be sure, it may be changed; and we do not mean that ONLY these may be taken, but be mindful that those given NOT to take are NOT taken!

Mornings - citrous fruit juices; or cereals with fresh fruits, with a little cream - but little or no sugar, unless

349-13 Page 3

it is the beet sugar.

Coddled egg, with little cakes or brown toast.

Noons - preferably a whole green vegetable salad; or soup, the basis of which would be barley thickening and not rice or corn.

Evenings - a general vegetable diet, with little meats. When meats are taken, only fowl, fish or lamb.

5. (Q) Why am I sill so nervous and all on edge? upset in the office, etc? (A) Just as we have given. The tendency for pressures in the physical system to make inclinations in that direction.

Then the unstableness of self as to what is to be accomplished by the body, in its relation with either the office or other influences.

In this connection, as we have given, first the body should analyze self - as to its desires, and that it (the body) hopes and desires to accomplish in this experience; not considering for self alone, for when considered in this light (no matter what the results are, or the position obtained) it becomes as a tinkling cymbal; it may blaze for a while, yet this will soon fade - and loneliness will be the result, with being forced to look into self and find self not satisfied.

For, desire that builds only for aggrandizing of that which will bring for self only fame, or position, or even power - without a purposefulness in same that may be accomplished for another, is but as hollow; and leaves one broken.

Look about self. Count those that have abilities in certain directions, who outwardly now - in their declining years - WOULD do good if there were the opportunity; yet these falter, stumble; they blame others for themselves not having a "break", for not having the opportunity. What was the basis of that desire, that impelled?

What has brought in SELF the moments of the greatest pleasure, doing that self would be exalted or that another might receive some notice, some benefit?

That self is not always appreciated is a symptom of self-exaltation, and is bad.

349-13 Page 4

For, good - as virtue - must be its own reward.

For, good IS - as God IS - and IS a law unto itself.

No one may BUY goodness. No one may sell goodness. Goodness - as godliness - is LIVED, and is first the basis of thought in an individual's inner self ; and goodness does not beget self-indulgences in self in ANY direction, but is that which another - a body a soul - appreciates in whatsoever sphere of activity it may be contacted.

Hence, find self in shaping self's destinies; not fates, but destinies - for "the fates are kind" to those who love goodness for Goodness' sake, and not for payment's sake or that self may be exalted.

6. (Q) Am I doing myself, [257] and the [257] Corp., any good by continuing to work for them, feeling the way I do? (A) This depends upon the attitude of self.

Considered from the purely MATERIAL standpoint, yes.

Considered from the mental attitude of self, no.

Considered from the basis - as we find - of the thought in self, yes.

Then, we have two to one.

What, then, should the body DO about the situation?

Look about self. There is, as we have given, the possibility, the probability, that the body - with its development, from the mental poise, the mental attitude of the body - may enter into the field of endeavor which is as a teaching to others, through the activities of the body is ACTING - or in becoming, for the time being, and exemplification of a character - a thought - to impress some truth, some lesson, upon the mind of others.

The entity, then, may become a success in this field, in one or another ways and manners; yet at the present - when all conditions are considered, first the body-physical, second the body-temperamental, under both physical and general economic conditions over the country - it would be to self suicidal to enter wholeheartedly, or dependently, free of other associations or connections - upon such a field of activity.

349-13 Page 5

Then, it would be necessary that either a middle road be chosen - wherein this, for the present, may not be cast wholly out of self's experience - or this be forgotten entirely, and cast self in a wholehearted manner into the work of the organization in which the body finds self in the present associated and identified. What would be the future in either of these?

In the first, to cast self loose - by breaking wholly with the association - would be disappointments, breaking of illusionments, and the general undoing, with a return to the same character of work or activity in a new surrounding that would make for further and further discouragements - at least for the time being.

With the present associations there may be the holding TO that, which may for the present be used as rather the tendency for the activities of self; not as a habit, not being wholly dependent upon it, but rather as a hobby, a DEFINITE hobby.

And, after full and sincere analysis of self, should self find that the opportunities, the calls from within demand that self be given (considering it in the light of what has been given, as to how to analyze self) - and the call comes, then harken!

7. We are through for the present.
