At the newspaper Time of Reading stand, S.W. cor. 11:10 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. 179th St. & the Grand Concourse, Bronx, N.Y. (Body and enquiring mind - Questions)
1. EC: Yes. Very interesting to the body to know that some things that happened around the body at the time, while waiting there for the appointment, will have some influence upon the body's future experiences in association with the individuals that are met at that time.
2. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Since I seem unable to get a theatrical job, am attempting to get a stenographic job. Is that the plan the Forces would have me carry out for the present? (A) For the present.
4. (Q) When will I get a stenographic job so I can start making money again to relieve my present financial difficulties? (A) As we shall find, as some of the associations or some of the meetings were experienced at the period when there was the attempt on the part of the body to keep the appointment on July 6th, connections will be made around August 15th. Keep up with those in those connections and those leads that have been already established, and - as we find - by that period there should be brought to the body an association and a connection that would be satisfactory. As to just what, this will be dependent - of course - upon the approaches that are to be made. But, as we find, if those things are followed along in the ways that they should be, by the latter part of this present year - or the first months of the coming year - the home should be begun to be established.
5. (Q) Do the Forces mean for me to give up forever the idea of getting into the theatre or movies? (A) As indicated, through the associations and connections with the body, those connections made by the body - that is,
349-18 Page 2
the influence of the body's associations and connections with the theatre or cinema, there may be brought not only for self but for the whole surroundings that which will be much more satisfactory. Not give up forever in preparing self, through its associations, connections, activities, and that which may be brought within it. Be more affiliated, directly or indirectly, than would ever be for self as an individual.
6. (Q) Should I continue to keep in touch with my theatrical connections? (A) Should keep in touch.
7. (Q) In reference to Dr. [4948], I have tried to carry out the Forces' suggestions but he never telephones me nor does he attempt to see me. Should I continue to make the advances even though he avoids me? (A) He does not avoid. This is only those influences and forces that have been brought to bear by outside forces. Keep these in the same way and manner that will bring, not as pushing self in - but, as indicated, it's through these channels that there may come the better associations and affiliations for self and for [4948], and in such ways, manners and measures not only for self and self's association but for the future activities that may bring much that will be most worth while in the experiences of all concerned. Keep up the good work.
8. (Q) In view of the above, why do the Forces tell me it would be well for us to marry each other? (A) For it's best!
9. (Q) What are his feelings towards me and why does he fail to keep his promises to see me? (A) As to his feelings, as we find, we would keep them much in the same way and manner, the same outlines that have been kept heretofore. Not as running after; for too oft has this been the experience of the body [4948], as may be seen where those periods - one more year must be the time when, or during the latter part of the present and early part of the next, when this body's mind [4948] will be turned more in the direction of the associations, as we would find, that would bring about the better associations and relations. His feelings towards the body? These are his; they should not be tread upon, but they are correct.
10. (Q) What should my actions and attitude be toward him? (A) Just knowing what is right, and leaving it with the influences and forces that should bring about the better associations and relations in these directions.
11. (Q) What will be the outcome of my present friendship with [2573] of ..., N.Y?
349-18 Page 3
(A) This depends, of course, upon the will and the activities of each in these directions, and in associations or connections of this kind; but, as we find, unless there is the willfulness in making for closer associations, these would come to naught.
12. (Q) How soon will he be able to find a job and be in a position to get married? (A) In thirty-eight. Find a job before then. Be able to get married in thirty-eight.
13. (Q) Would he be a good mate for me? (A) We have outlined what we find is the better. Choose for self has been given the body oft before. You have asked for that which we find from these forces, and these influences and visions that may be seen as to that which would be the better. If the body chooses to do otherwise, or follow those influences that would bring about the other associations or relationships of such a nature as to change all these, then bear the consequences! [See subsequent Reports under 349-19.]
14. (Q) What is my state of health at present time? (A) Outside of worry, very good. The influences that have disturbed the body in the repressions at times throughout the whole of the body are somewhat improved. The general activity towards those things of keeping more and more in the alkalin diet will make for much better improvement in all these directions.
15. (Q) Will the Forces please outline plan for me to carry out for the present in regard to work, and love and marriage - (A) (Interrupting) Keep in the associations and directions which will make for the abilities of the body to keep self in such an outline to be able to respond to those forces or influences that will bring about an association at those periods indicated. Follow the lines not of least resistance, neither be too forward regarding the relationship with the one indicated that would make for the better associations; but let such be the natural development of the heart, the mind, the body. These are the better, as we find, in the experience of the body, [349].
16. (Q) Is Carla Bellda the best professional name for me to use, or is Belda Marley better? (A) If chosen so. Carla Bellda is the better.
17. (Q) I seem to be so very much typed for the theatre - when will my type be in demand? (A) Always in demand whenever there is the necessity for that particular type in the staging or casting of the expressions of life in those particular fields.
18. (Q) Why will such dire things happen to me should I
349-18 Page 4
attempt a theatrical career, as I still feel that is the work I should be in? (A) If the body feels within self that nothing else would satisfy, then do it! We are through. But it must pay the price! Copy to Self " " Ass'n file
