1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [357].
2. Now, as we find, there are conditions of specific natures that disturb the better physical functioning of the body.
3. There are also the effects that have caused, and do cause, disturbances. Often have the effects been thought to be causes rather than the effects.
4. In one respect there is a condition here that is very unusual. That which produces the unusual condition is that the drugs or medicines do not have the same effect at all times; neither do they affect the body in a way or manner that is usually expected, or that has been set as the result.
5. As to the specifics, we find there are lesions that exist in the pelvic area, that have caused - and do cause, through the effects that are created in the system - the greater disturbance.
6. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [357] we are speaking of, present in this room:
7. First, we find the BLOOD SUPPLY is below normal in quantity and quality; for there is a much more profuse internal circulation than there is arterial and capillary circulation. This, we shall see, is produced more by the effect the pressures in portions of the system have upon the organs in circulation.
8. Then, the character of the blood supply is disturbed by the inability of the system, under the existent conditions, to assimilate from that taken as the restoratives for vitality and circulation. Hence a form of indigestion disturbs the body throughout, and produces an anemia of a character that is - or may be termed - of a flitful nature; that is, there are periods when the red blood supply in action finds almost normal numbers, yet deficient in the character of the plasm and urea that is carried in the circulation.
357-1 Page 2
9. There are times when the numbers in the lymph and white corpuscle are said to be even above normal, and the efficiency in the leucocyte or the warriors of the system has remained in greater quantity than is usually indicated in existent disturbances.
10. As to the NERVE SYSTEM, and systems, here - as indicated - are many of the causes, as well as effects that are produced in the body.
11. From the nature of those conditions in the pelvis, these making for pressures on the organs of genitation make for a disturbance that takes the form of inflammation without creating a great amount of pus or accumulated refuse forces in specific spots or centers, yet sufficient to use up the vitality of an arterial circulation through the digestive area.
12. Hence those conditions that disturb the activity of eliminations through alimentary canal are effective in the system, producing also that tired heavy feeling in the extremities, the character of the headaches, and the nausea that is indicated at given periods. And these arise, as seen, at times when they are the least expected - but if notice is taken it will be found that these occur when there is the reaction from an unusual activity in mental reactions, or excitements, or any conditions that affect the nerve system as related to the activities of the organs of digestion; for digestion is very slow, from the very nature or position of the adhesions and lesions that disturb the body. Hence we find these conditions of the drawing in the stomach have made for such a condition as to even tilt or pull the organ itself to a position where it is not only too small but the position prevents the natural movements of the activity in digestion, or curdlization in the body.
13. This pressure being reflex is an effect, not a cause, and while it will require a little patience and time, with the removing of the lesions and adhesions in the lower portion, or pelvic and pelvis area, this will allow of itself the reactions and the strengthening of the muscular forces as to bring about a much better position even of the organs of digestion.
14. As to the ORGANS of the body:
15. Brain forces are very good. The reactions from the impulses are near normal, and these aid - and will aid more - in bringing nearer normalcy to the body, if they are exercised in making for the system those proper adjustments and incentives for the system to function normally.
16. As to the organs of the sensory system: From a depleted blood supply, and the very nature of a slow arterial
357-1 Page 3
circulation, we find that there are periods when all organs of the sensory forces, or system, are more or less involved; as are the conditions at times in the auditory forces, or hearing. Not that it is impaired, but that there are buzzings at times, or a feeling of a fullness about the ear. At times when the body attempts to speak it is necessary to swallow once or twice, occasionally, before this may be accomplished in the manner desired. Not a disturbance, but the very nature of the effect upon the auditory or responsive forces of the sympathetic nerve system. Odors affect the body very decidedly at times; at others not so noticeable or so active as to become the disturbing influences.
17. In throat, bronchi and lungs: From the nature of the circulatory system, and from the position of the stomach itself, there are times when the lungs themselves appear to be involved in the condition. [Incipient tuberculosis? See 357-9 on 10/19/37.] The atmospheric pressures make for a feeling of unpleasantness, without specific pains except occasionally. These are productions of lack of oxidization through the shortness of the breath, or the very activity of the lungs themselves; but not an organic disturbance - and don't let this disturb the body at times when these depressions or this tiredness overcome the whole system, for no disturbance is there that is of a nature that may not respond easily to a clarified circulation.
18. In heart's action: This makes for a condition that there is no organic disturbance, yet a slow pulsation, and a low blood pressure at times. The metabolism and katabolism, then, are disturbed; but not a cause. The position of the stomach itself, as indicated, makes for an addition to the disturbance in digestion, yet - as indicated - when there is the relief from the pressures in the lower lumbar and in the sacral areas, where impulses from the nerve forces or ganglia and the impulses for a better circulation are brought about, there will be a material strengthening of the muscular forces to produce not only a better position but a better digestion and better reaction, naturally, through the spleen, pancreas and liver.
19. The conditions, then, that we find to be met, are the removal of the pressures caused by adhesions in the pelvic and sacral area [dysmenorrhea?], that disturb the eliminations through this area, disturb the position of the organs of the pelvis and their activity; and at the same time clarify the blood supply in such a way and manner, as to correct the fuels for activity in assimilation, thus bringing about a nearer normal reaction for this body, [357]

we are speaking of.
20. In the beginning, then, we would first - when there are the periods of acute pain in the pelvis and sacral area - apply (but this would only be done when necessary, see) a saturated solution of Epsom Salts packs, first massaging the body or the area with equal portions of Tincture of Myrrh and Olive Oil, heating the oil and adding the myrrh, only making a small quantity at a time - just sufficient that the body may absorb same. Then apply the saturated solution of the Epsom Salts, on heavy cloths or packs, and as hot as the body can well stand. This will not only remove or relieve the pain, but will assist in relaxing the system sufficiently that the circulation - both in the nerve and blood supply - may have effect upon the organs of the system that are disturbed, producing that condition wherein the applications - that may be used daily - may effect the absorption and elimination of the disturbing forces produced by adhesions and lesions in the soft tissue and organs of this portion of the system.
21. Each evening, then, we would apply this: Take a small quantity of cocoa butter - an ounce of same. To this we would add Oil of Cedar 10 minims, Oil of Sassafras 5 minims. Massage this thoroughly together, see, or mix or stir. Then use a small quantity to massage the whole cerebrospinal system, especially over the area of the 8th and 9th dorsal, and the sacral and lumbar area - see?
22. Follow this with a vibration from the electrically driven vibrator, see?
23. During the first three to five weeks, keep the area about the stomach bandaged. When the body arises of mornings put this on. It would be best made of just a cloth, that is fitted comfortably to the body, see? This will assist in preventing the pressure from the effects that have come by the dropping of the stomach itself.
24. We would also be mindful of the diet, and the kind of water, and the character of laxatives taken to keep the alimentary canal working with that which would be applied for correction of the body - see?
25. So, we would give this as an outline for the diet, though it may be changed to meet the needs and tastes of the body - but the character of foods should be rather on this order:
26. Mornings - fresh fruits, with coddled egg (only using the yolk) and toast or browned bread, although whole wheat, or rough, or corn cakes, see?
27. Or citrus fruits may be taken with the other ingredients, instead of the fresh fruits; occasionally
357-1 Page 5
adding a little crisp bacon, not a great deal but sufficient to change the tone of the gastric forces of the digestive system.
28. Or breakfast foods. Especially may there be taken whole wheat or puffed wheat, or puffed rice. Any of these may be taken with a little sugar and plenty of cream and milk.
29. Do not take these together; that is, neither the fruits or the citrus fruit juices taken at the same meal, nor the breakfast foods with citrus fruit juices at the same meal - see?
30. Noons - preferably whole green vegetables. These may be made into a salad, or the like; such vegetables as fresh carrots, spinach, lettuce, celery, tomatoes, beans or peas that have been cooked of course just a little.
31. Or there may be made whole fruit salad. But only fresh fruits should be used.
32. And do not mix the fruits and the vegetables together, see?
33. Salad dressing may be used, or mayonnaise, or just oils. Not a great quantity of salt, just enough to make it palatable.
34. Evenings - cooked vegetables, two above ground to one below ground. There may be included also a little fish, fowl and liver (broiled), but no red or heavy meat.
35. Also it would be very beneficial for the body to take small quantities of beef juices (but don't eat the beef or meat); make the beef juices from the fresh beef and take a small quantity before retiring at night - but at least fifteen to twenty minutes before resting or lying down.
36. At this period also there may be taken a little wine, or any that will add to the character of the digestive fluids for the system.
37. As for laxatives:
38. It would be well occasionally to take those properties found in the compound called AL-CAROID; either after the evening meal or just before breaking the fast of mornings. Not a large quantity, neither should it be taken oftener than once a week or such matter.
39. Also we would take Milk of Magnesia and Milk of Bismuth, one taken one day and the other the next day. Do not take them both on the same day.
40. Occasionally it would be well to take Charcoal Tablets, opposite - possibly - the days when AL-CAROID is taken; this will assist in removing toxic forces from the system.
41. Do these. Ready for questions.
42. (Q) How much Magnesia and Bismuth should be taken at a dose? (A) Two teaspoonsful of each. Best that these be, of
357-1 Page 6
course, stirred in a glass of water before being taken.
43. (Q) What causes my equilibrium being off? (A) This has all been described all the way through!
44. (Q) Would you advise me to return to work on the first of the month, or should I get my leave extended? (A) If getting the leave extended will assist the body in following these suggestions for two to three weeks, then you can return to work with twice as much pep and vigor!
45. (Q) What causes the blurred vision? (A) This is produced from the same condition that has been described, that affects the sensory system. Too great an internal circulation, not sufficient arterial, lymph and capillary circulation to take away drosses, see? With the stimulation, you see, that we have prescribed for the whole cerebrospinal system, we will FEED - You see, this is the effect of that given: The compound of the cocoa butter with the oils, massaged into the cerebrospinal system from the base of the brain to the end of the spine, specifically from the 8th and 9th dorsal to lower portion of the spine, FEEDS the nerve impulses and increases the capillary and arterial circulation! This will aid in removing all these conditions from the system. The extra amount of activities for eliminating through the alimentary canal is to carry off the extra amount of drosses that are being absorbed, both from the pelvis area and from the general condition along the system. If we will do these, we will bring the body - in three to five weeks (but, of course, precautions should be taken even after) - to near normalcy. Keep in the sunshine a great deal; this is helpful to the body. Also sand rubs, sand packs, would be well. This increases capillary circulation. Wet the body in salt water, cover in dry sand for twenty minutes - it's a good treatment!
