Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [357]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, the conditions in the present are rather the acute conditions, and inflammation through the soft tissue and in portions of the lung and the head - arising from cold and congestion.

3. And we have a very much congested condition through the digestive system, or the activities of the liver and the whole of the hepatic circulation.

4. While those administrations that have been given have been somewhat beneficial, they have sort of allayed and hindred but not removed the disturbance, as we find.

5. We would in the present, especially late this evening, and the night, begin with small doses often of Calcidin. Dissolve about three grains in an ounce of water. Keep this warm, and about every thirty minutes take a sip - until there is a good reaction from the activity of the iodine in the system. Keep this covered, of course, and take about every twenty to thirty minutes, half a teaspoonful. Stir this up, of course, each time. Keep warm, not boiling nor like that but sit where it will keep warm.

6. Through the evening we would take a least TWO CRC Pills. [Calomel, Rhubarb and Colocynth?] Get about six or eight of these. Take one almost immediately, take the other tonight about nine or ten o'clock; and then in the morning take another - this after the morning meal. Continue these in this manner until the six or eight are taken.

7. And let the meals be rather of citrus fruits, juices of any nature; gruels or liquids and semi-liquids. Do not take too much of gruel - that is, as the cereal - at the same time that citrus fruit juices are taken. Better orange juice with a little lemon in same, and the grapefruit juice - the fresh fruit squeezed being preferable.

8. We would also keep a hot cloth to the side of the face where disturbances have been. Just keep the cloth hot is

better than using anything on it. Of course, if desired, the Mutton Suet may be used - it's not bad, but this will tend - with these conditions - to make it very sore and much easier to take cold.

9. Use also an antiphlogistine plaster over especially the right lung.

10. But these eliminations must be aroused.

11. Well, too, just before retiring that the feet be put in hot mustard water; about a teaspoonful to three or four or five or six gallons of water, and bathe to the knees and rub down thoroughly. And when through apply the equal combination of Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Camphor to the soles of the feet - and keep feet warm.

12. Use also any of the conditions for clearing the throat; as Vick's drops, or - more preferably - a combination of fumes from Oil of Eucalyptus, Compound Tincture of Benzoin, Oil of Turp and Rectified Creosote. Get about an ounce of each. Then prepare for use in this manner:

13. To about a quart of water put about these quantities: Oil of Eucalyptus.................10 drops, Rectified Creosote.................2 drops, Compound Tincture of Benzoin......10 drops, Oil of Turp........................3 drops. Let the steam from this, as in a croup cup of the like, or under a sheet, be inhaled by the body - both through the nostrils and in the mouth - or as ordinary breathing. Repeat this if necessary for the relief of the conditions.

14. These as we find should bring better conditions.

15. As we find, it is a very severe condition - through congestion; but if these suggestions are adhered to - keeping the body quiet - we should within forty-eight hours be free from much of the disturbance.

16. Ready for questions.

17. (Q) Have recent osteopathic administrations been successful? (A) Depends upon what they've been successful for! WITHOUT THESE we would have had a very bad case of PNEUMONIA - lobular!

18. (Q) Should I drink wine or grape juice? (A) Drink grape juice at these times, but very little of wine until there is strength regained and the congestion has been removed.

19. (Q) Any further advice? (A) Do these things for the body, as we find in the present. Or if the body would so DESIRE, it might go entirely upon

fresh grape juice and grapes as a diet for the next forty-eight hours. But in THAT case we would eat a LOT of 'em! Ordinarily - wine may be taken as a food in the late afternoon, or before dinner. This should be at least half an hour to an hour, though, before the meal; and as a food, not as a drink.

20. We are through for the present. Copy to Self - Phoned also " " Ass'n file
