1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [369], present in this room. You will give a check-up life reading for this body, with special reference to the developments and retardments since the last reading given on the 21st day of February, 1931. You will answer the questions she will ask.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [369], present in this room - this we have had before, also the information that has been given regarding developments for this body in this experience.

3. In drawing parallels, or in making what may be called a check on developments or retardments, much might be said respecting the body's ideals and what the body has DONE about same. There have been developments for the better. While there have been periods when there were determinations, or ideas, that those things weighed upon the body-mind in such a manner as to cause or produce consternation, and determinations at times; yet each time has the body made steps forward with that of carrying on, meeting conditions as they arise in their various aspects, their various circumstance, and - as has been given - the nearer the body conforms to that which makes for aid, help, understanding, kindness, and the emoluments of those things that make for BETTERMENTS in the lives or in the minds of those the body contacts, better and greater is - and will be - the development through this experience.

4. Much has been given as respecting that the body must meet in the present. Meet, then, with that knowledge that there is ever aid at hand - will the body [if the body will] rest IN that aid, rather than in self.

5. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) What has caused the one that has meant so much to me for the past four years to fail me so completely now? (A) There are MANY conditions that enter into the relationships, but the greater interference in the present is the knowledge that self has begun to condemn self for the

369-9 Page 2

acts and the things that make for the relationships. Hence there is the more NEED that this relationship be not strained, from the body's standpoint, but rather as still in that attitude of meeting the conditions, the circumstances, AS they arise.

7. (Q) Has there been any development on his part at all during the past year? If so, what? (A) Even the act, or knowledge within self that self is not measuring up to that as is required by the body, or that is DUE the body, is a development. As to whether this will remain, or will become a retarding condition depends upon what will be done. That rests with themselves.

8. (Q) How does he feel about me now? (A) Rather that self has not acted in the manner as to merit that consideration as should be in the mind of the body.

9. (Q) If he values our association at all, how could he throw it off and forget so quickly something we have builded up together for so long? (A) That's the trouble! He DOESN'T throw it off! He DOESN'T forget! That's why that it REMAINS, and why it produces self-condemnation in self at the present! Be patient. Do not overtax self; or do not underrate self's abilities as respecting that relationship, but be strong in the might that makes for Right - rather than in any relation, any retaliation, or any deviation from that that is known in self as to be the proper attitude.

10. (Q) Is there some reason for this new attraction to this other individual from an association in a previous incarnation? If so, what? (A) Rather as the attempt in self to cover up that as is KNOWN in self to be that it is trying to meet. Not an association, not really an attraction - rather an excuse.

11. (Q) Will he ever in this appearance on earth realize what he has lost? (A) That depends upon the activities of the self as respecting that as is known, and as is felt in self, regarding the relationships with the body.

12. (Q) What is it that is so lacking in him? (A) Strength!

13. (Q) In what way have I failed - (A) Hasn't failed!

14. (Q) Why, when I have tried so hard to play fair, have I only received unfairness from him? (A) Lack of strength in self!

15. (Q) Is he as unfair as he seems? (A) As has been given, this is a pretense, an excuse for

369-9 Page 3

self, KNOWING that self has NOT been as fair as is deserving, or as is really DESIRED of self to show toward the body!

16. (Q) Please interpret from my reading the sentence in reference to the Egyptian period concerning him, "To this entity the body turned, leaned upon, meant much, yet destroyed much in the relationships with many during the experience." [369-7, Par. 5-A] (A) As the entity turned to the body, through the circumstances that arose about the surrounding conditions, and led and went right into the various associations, brought about that for self that is to be met in these same relationships as at present. Or, to make it literal: As the body is being treated in the present, so the body treated the other in that experience!

17. (Q) Before we entered the earth's plane this time had we agreed to work out something together? (A) Rather the conditions existed, and the natural consequence was to be DRAWN together for the privilege, or opportunity, OF working it out! Whether this is DONE or not is up to the individuals!

18. (Q) Have I filled my part of the contract? (A) Thus far! What's to be done later, now remains to be seen!

19. (Q) Had he live up to his end of it, how would this have turned out? (A) That's a question yet that may be! for these ever depend upon the wills, or the activities, of individuals as respecting their relationships. This SHOULD have made, however, had each remained faithful TO that as in self, or as determinations, or as to what each mean, do mean, WELL would have been the outcome! and advancement for each.

20. (Q) Should he at some time desire to carry on the association again, has he not proven that I should not even consider it? (A) That depends!

21. (Q) On what? (A) What is to be builded by each, and HOW the relationship would be renewed!

22. (Q) Can you tell me something to keep me form feeling so terribly hurt and hopeless about this association? (A) Do in self that as is KNOWN by self as the proper and correct relationships, or as ye would be done by. Knowing all the strained circumstances that have been and are being enacted in the minds, hearts, and souls of each, act TOWARD the other as ye would be acted by! Being satisfied, then, that that as is being done by self is in accord with that,

369-9 Page 4

leave the rest to the Creator of circumstances, conditions, and things, in the lives of each.

23. (Q) Can you give me some idea of how long it will be before I will meet the individual whom I will marry, if I put forth my best efforts to merit such? (A) As to whether this is today or tomorrow, in the putting forth of the efforts that bring about within self's own mental being, own PSYCHIC FORCES, or soul forces of self, will bring those CONTENTMENTS - if not wholly satisfying, contentments - that makes for a much more peaceful, much more plausible, experience for the entity. As to how soon? When there is builded such that other relationships, or changes that may have come about by the variations from associations - in the meeting of karmic forces in each experience - then there may be builded that as will bring about that contentment which makes for a life much worth while. In the ideal, then, rests that as to time, place, or the circumstances as may surround same. If there is still held that attitude of old, as it were, longing again for the fleshpots of Egypt, how CAN the heart, mind and soul, be set in a direction as to merit that of even being directed TO, or comforted by or through, those associations that would lead on to the land of promise? or that experience in the Eden of life that makes for a continuity of hope, understanding, peace, joy, harmony? Forgetting, then, the things that are behind, press onward to the mark of the Higher Calling as may be set in the IDEALS. In lending to those individuals whom a body may meet from day to day, even the little things that are as emoluments of, attributes of, the Maker, there is builded that peace and harmony, and joy, that comes in well-doing.

24. (Q) What are the prospects for the summer? (A) That would depend much upon that which has planned, or upon much that has been left to general circumstance.

25. (Q) Should I try and leave ... [home]...for the summer, or next year, or both? (A) That depends upon what has been determined, or is to be determined, in self, as to the various relationships and conditions as may surround the life. As has been seen, those prospects of leaving are well - in MANY of those changes that may come about. Accept these; but be sure - where there has been the ideal set - to remain first true to self, and thou will not be false to any!

26. (Q) Would it be advisable for [Miss [1922]] and [me] I to attend Columbia summer school for six weeks? (A) Would be well.

27. (Q) Should I try and get a position away for next winter? (A) There will be three offered! Take the second one!

28. (Q) Would teaching be better than some other new line of work? (A) Teaching would be the best, for the next year.

29. (Q) Any suggestions of where and to whom to apply? (A) Through those channels that have already been set in motion would there be these offers, as we find.

30. (Q) Any other advice or counsel for the body? (A) Build on as thou hast started. Keep thine face towards the light, and the shadows will be in the background. Turn not upon those things that would become an undoing, but press onward - upward - ever!
