1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [378], in his office at ..., New York City, together with his associates of the Louis Dejonge Co., and the information they are seeking regarding the improvement of the cascine sizing used at their Staten Island factory in making top-sized leather papers.
Please give the formula of a solution that can be used with or in place of the cascine sizing now being used, that will make the paper as water-proof, as pliable and as non-inflammable as possible; taking into consideration the following needs:
A solution that can be brushed on to the paper as is the cascine with the machinery now in the Staten Island factory.
A solution that does not contain chemicals that are so inflammable that they would increase the fire insurance rates as would the use of the collodion suggested in the last reading.
You will answer questions regarding this.
2. EC: (Going over in detail the suggestion of the needs, desires, wants and requirements.)
3. We do not find in the present any change that we would make, in the present. These may be sought further. In the present we do not find any change to make.
4. (Q) Is there any suggestion that would aid the chemist in experimentation for this? (A) We may seek through these channels through which such information may come. In the present we have none.
5. (Q) When should we seek again for this? (A) When it may be found, which may be when called for. There's none present in the present.
