1. GC: As suggested in information received through these channels March 23, 1932, we again present the following: (Same suggestion as before)

2. EC: Yes. As we find, the sizing as is used at present, and the machinery as is installed, and the manner of applying same, is all well; and there would be little change unless there was to be considered an entire change, or the expenditure of sums of money to MAKE such changes. But, as we find, this may be improved in the present with LITTLE change, and NO additional cost, save the experimentations as would be necessary in making runs that would indicate this variation as may be had in the applying of this in addition to the regular formulas now in use in making the caseine sizing; that is, when pigment is added for the variations in the colors, and the various textures as are to be used for these various changes or alterations, there would be added at THIS PERIOD - see? Let's get it exact - you ain't following it here closely! When the PIGMENT changes are made in the caseine sizing, see, then add small quantities of aluminium sulphate - which will penetrate, add to the staying qualities, the pliability, on the setting of the color more, and in VARIED manner this may be added so that the curl is less in the heavier papers - see? and is NOT inflammable. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Please give any suggestions that will aid the chemist in his experimentations in the preparation of this solution. (A) We have just given these, in the addition of these as given - at this period! Not that these papers are not treated with same, so that they will become a ground for the taking of colors - but this added, see? aluminium sulphate. VARY the quantities in experiment with the pigment color as is mixed in the caseine at the TIME the variation or the tints, or the tones, or LEATHER effect. This makes a more penetrating of the dye or color itself, is not inflammable, and WILL add to the pliability - see - added at this time.

378-10 Page 2

We understand it is already applied to the paper in its manufacture, so that it does partake of these variations in this activity, in its use - but added at THIS time, in varied quantities, makes it more effective and does NOT necessitate the changing of the process as is being used in ANY manner at the PRESENT time, but makes ALL of them become more effective, and will only be necessary that there be the proper consideration by the chemist as to the alterations as given by the addition of this at the time, as to the tone, color, or warmth of color, as is added. Do that. Make the tests.

4. We are through for the present.
