Time of Reading 10:40 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [379]; this we have had before.

2. Now, as we find, there are many changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here.

3. While many conditions show a great improvement from the general effect, the functioning organs that were disturbed had so set or adjusted themselves to the general physical condition as to bring rather a constitutional effect; or the system having adjusted itself - and the changes, with the applications that were suggested, brought for the time being some relief, yet the tendencies are for the organs in a disturbed manner to react to the old conditions, or old environment, much as would be for an individual that had taken on some habit that had become detrimental to the body and then find self, with recuperative forces added, gradually falling again into old ways, as it were.

4. As we have indicated, the condition in the liver - and the effect same had upon the hepatic circulation - is the greater destructive force to be met in the general system. And the tendencies for the ducts of the liver to form secretions, and make for distresses that make for a heavier activity in the hepatic circulation, and disturbing the digestive forces of the body, produce these returning conditions that have disturbed - and that do disturb the body at times.

5. While much that might be given in the present would be along the line of that which has been outlined for the body, rather in THIS way and manner would the suggestion be for the corrective influences in the system now; for the organs of assimilation and elimination (that do not wholly coordinate as yet) must all be taken into consideration.

6. Hence, as we would find, this carried in rather a persistent way and manner would be more effective toward bringing about the normal forces for the body.

7. First we would, at least two or three times each week, have the deep manipulations from the electrically driven vibrator, using - in the greater part of the treatment - the cup applicator, that tends to make for a stimulation of the superficial circulation. This we would give over the whole of the cerebrospinal system, particularly in the area of the brachial plexus and the lumbar plexus; or from the 1st dorsal to the 5th or 6th dorsal, in the whole of the lumbar area - but particularly across the 4th lumbar center and the sacral plexus.

8. We would, at least two or three times each week, take - after the evening meal - about half a teaspoonful of AL-CAROID in two to three glasses of water (of course, dissolved in a very small quantity of water, the glass filled and taken - glass of water, of course; and then another glass of water taken also, that there may be formed an active force in the gastric forces of the stomach itself, that makes for an assimilation in the cardiac portion of the stomach proper), so that there will be less of the acid as the basis as it passes into the pylorus, or the duodenum and the pyloric end of the stomach itself.

9. Also we would use, about once each week, the Castor Oil packs OVER the liver area, especially over the lacteal ducts and the gall ducts; that there may be the reaction for the functioning of the organs in this area of the system.

10. When there is the heaviness across the lower portion of the back, or just below the kidney area and over the organs of the pelvis area, we would apply the saturated solution of Epsom Salts.

11. We would add to each half pound (of salts, see, before it is dissolved) about ten to fifteen drops of turpentine. Then heat this, to be sure, so that it makes for the relaxing of the area and produces - with the addition of the turp - an active force in the adrenal and the bladder, and the kidneys themselves.

12. We will find also that a massage would be very beneficial, of any form that is easier for the lower limbs from the hips downward. Rub FROM the body, not toward the body; much in the manner of the neuropathic application, or following the nerve centers from their ganglia in the sacral and lumbar area to the feet and ankles. For this massage it would be very helpful to use a combination of equal parts of Russian White Oil and Rub Alcohol, with one third quantity added of Witchhazel. This will stimulate the circulation in this portion of the system.

13. Once or twice each week there should be a thorough massage of the head and neck, even into the hair and scalp,

379-2 Page 3

with equal portions of Witchhazel (of course, we are adding now to the Witchhazel as the base); or, to one ounce of Witchhazel, add one quarter ounce of sweet oil (not plain Olive Oil, but olive oil that's been acted on, see?) and one half ounce of rub alcohol. Let this be massaged over the shoulders, the neck, the face, the head, the scalp; and it will be well for the body.

14. In the matter of the diets: It is well that these be not too heavy, but should be rather the foods that produce weight, as well as those easily assimilated. Not too much sugars, but those that are well balanced in carbohydrates, proteins and starches. These from vegetables and fruits, and all the active forces for the system. Not too much acid, to be sure. No condiments in any of the foods, but keep the body well building.

15. In the matter of the activities of the body: The MENTAL activities are well. DO NOT exercise too much standing ON THE FEET! This becomes VERY detrimental to all the activities in the system!

16. Keep in the open air. Rest. Think well. DO well. And the body will be rid of all these conditions.

17. Ready for questions.

18. (Q) What is the best posture to take the packs? (A) Lying prone.

19. (Q) Are tea and coffee injurious? (A) An excess is. Do not drink coffee or tea with milk or cream.

20. (Q) What should the body do for proper eliminations? (A) The exercise and massage will be helpful. It would be well that high enemas be taken occasionally to alleviate not only the poisons, but to produce for the system a better peristaltic movement; for the inflammation and the character of the activity of the ducts of the liver tend to DRY secretions throughout the intestinal system. In using the high enema, to two quarts of water add a level teaspoonful of salt and a heaping teaspoonful of baking soda. In the rinse water, or last water injections, we would add the Petrolagar; necessary that it be stirred in the tepid water. This will aid in reducing the tendency for inflammation, reduce the acidity, and be helpful to those tendencies for the accumulations in the whole lower portion of the intestinal tract for hemorrhoid formations.

21. (Q) How much Petrolagar? (A) Heaping teaspoonful to the quart of water.

22. (Q) What is the cause and cure of pain in back? etc.?

379-2 Page 4

(A) This has been touched on; one is the pressure, the other the accumulations of poisons that affect the ganglia in this particular portion.

23. (Q) Does condition of colon cause itching of rectum? (A) As we have just outlined; hence the enemas and the character of the injections for this condition.

24. (Q) What make of electrical vibrator is recommended? (A) Either the Westinghouse, General Electric or Hamilton. Sufficiently heavy, to be sure, that the deep manipulations may be given.

25. (Q) How much water should body drink daily? (A) At least nine to ten glasses each day.

26. (Q) To what color or colors does the body best vibrate? (A) Mauve, old rose and a shade of violet.

27. (Q) To what note of musical scale? (A) C.

28. (Q) Please give remedy for callous places on feet? (A) When there are the applications that have been outlined for the lower limbs, from the lumbar to the feet, these will naturally be improved. For specific conditions, use this: To a tablespoonful of Olive oil add a teaspoonful of Tincture of Myrrh and three drops of Oil of Sassafras. Use this to massage into the bottom of the feet or over callous places in feet, massaging also the ankle, the heel, and through the instep - WELL; only using sufficient that will be absorbed in the system each time. This may be done each day, or - should it produce tenderness, then only use every other or every third day. Occasionally, once a week or such matter, dampen baking soda with spirits of camphor and apply to callous places direct. This will tend to produce soreness the first application or so. Then they'll sluff off! Be well that this, of course, be bound - or a cloth tied over same to keep it on when applied. Apply it, of course, only at night.

29. (Q) Are teeth affected, or affecting the condition? (A) The conditions affect the teeth, (and they need some local attention) as also does the disorder from the stomach or colon - or an unbalanced condition in elimination, where there is the affecting of the respiratory system or excesses of poisons thrown off through the breathing. In making applications for the specific conditions, these

379-2 Page 5

need local attention; and use that compound Ipsab for gums - and a gargle; and when used as a gargle reduce by the addition of water, see?

30. (Q) About what proportion? (A) Half.

31. (Q) In my other reading, what was meant by, "activities of the body externally"? (A) Standing on feet too much!

32. (Q) Would eye exercises be beneficial? (A) After the general condition is improved, then these may be given, but to use these as conditions are being changed - in specific applications as for the massage of the head, shoulders and neck, and to use eye exercise with same would be to strain or direct to one portion of the sensory system that which would not be as beneficial as when used when general condition was improved.

33. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) Follow these suggestions for the general physical improvement of the body.
