This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of February, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [379], Active Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

R E A D I N G

Time of Reading 11:30 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

2. Considerable improvements as we find are indicated throughout the system. And if better resistances are builded and more strength, and the proper precautions taken as to not overtaxing self physically, or in the exercising in such ways or manners as to make for the taking of more cold or congestion, the body should continue to be on the improve.

3. As we find, we would leave off now the Bromo-Quinine and also the Chill Tonic, or the attenuating influence from same.

4. But on the morrow we would take the Castoria. However, to the small-sized bottle, add half a teaspoonful of the Syrup of Senna (pouring out half a teaspoonful from the bottle, taking it if so desired). Then shake it WELL together. We need more Senna as an active force for this body in the present. This we would take in about four to five doses through the day, see? that is, the small-sized bottle of Castoria with the Senna added as indicated.

5. For the strengthening of the body we would take the Beef Juice, a teaspoonful three, four, five times a day - but sip it. This small quantity at a time is much preferable to a tablespoonful or to large swallows of same. Take with same the whole wheat crackers. Do not have fatty particles in the jar when preparing same; only the lean round steak preferably. Season to suit the taste. [See directions for preparing under 5374-1, Par. R3.]

6. Keep the feet warm. Do not be too active for a day or two.

7. And as we find, with the proper precautions, the body should be much nearer normal.

8. Of course, we would take some rubs. We would be mindful that the cough and those attending conditions as arise are cared for, not merely with soothing syrups but as we find a combination of the white of an egg, beaten very stiff (not

the yolk), a few drops of honey, then the juice of a whole lemon stirred into same, would be rather helpful. Do not take too much at a time, but this is to allay the ringing in the head or ears, this feeling of a little fullness in the throat; and we will find the conditions will be improved.

9. The massages have been and are very good. We would continue with these of evening especially, with oil rubs; that is, Olive Oil along the spine and especially along the lumbar and sacral areas.

10. We would find that the cleansing of the colon with the enemas (salt and soda, equal portions - about a level teaspoonful of each to two quarts of water for this body) will be beneficial, but dissolved very thoroughly. And use in the last water; that is, after the salt and soda have been taken (rinse, of course, the Fountain Syringe, and then put) a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline in the last quart of water used. Have the water the temperature of the body; not guessed at, but temperature of the body - ninety-eight.

11. Ready for questions.

12. (Q) What may be in the diet other than beef juice? (A) Any of those foods that are body-building. Citrus fruit juices at times, whole cracked wheat at other times; a little fish, fowl or lamb. Any of these, but the Beef Juices are taken as the strengthening properties, for they have a great deal of strength in same for the body - if taken properly! For the Beef Juice assimilates if taken in small quantities, while if taken in quantities as to act upon or by gastric juices it becomes an astringent.

13. (Q) How much longer should I remain in bed? (A) Oh, you can get up right away if you feel strong enough - but don't go to plodding about too much!

14. (Q) Any other advice at this time? (A) Do these. Take the precautions in the manner indicated, and every day or two have the rubs, and be mindful that there is a clearing of the head, see? For it will be helpful to take the head and neck exercises, but very gently in the beginning.
