In the Time of Reading State Hosp., 3:30 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Agnew, Calif. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [387].

2. Now, as we find, conditions are rather serious. While there are mental aberrations and hallucinations, there are - as we find - physical conditions that are contributory to the condition.

3. These, as we find, come from an improper coordination in the mental and physical forces, yet the distresses are more from a breakdown of the abilities for impulses for activity through the mental force to be carried out through the physical conditions of the body.

4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, Mrs. [387], we are speaking of:

5. The BLOOD SUPPLY not only shows the effect of those recent administrations to the body, in the form of hypnotics and narcotics, but there is the effect of both toxic and uremic poisonings in the system; as is shown by the abrasions and the effect of same upon the imaginative forces of the body.

6. Hence, every condition that the body hears of, sees as disfigurements or distresses in bodies under the stress of physical pain, becomes part and parcel of that the body MENTALLY has to bear.

7. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM, as may be indicated from that given, there is little of coordination normally between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal; that is indicated by the twitching, and the vibrations that are seen in the contracting of muscular forces through the various portions of the system - especially at periods.

8. As we find, then, ALL the ORGANS are involved in the present, from the reaction of the applications; as well as from the distresses in the physical body itself.

9. The applications in the present are necessary. While for the time being these may appear to create greater

387-1 Page 2

distresses, the quiet that is reduced by the sedative activity to the system will eventually become helpful.

10. And, if there is the ability to prevent the body from destructive forces of its own creative imagination - or from the excess of exposure that it impels upon itself, as the ideal of atonement within itself for those conditions, and if those properties are given that will insure the setting up of eliminations to the extent where the kidneys and the liver may - as organs - create a balance between the hepatic circulation, these applications will EVENTUALLY - in three to four weeks - become effective.

11. When we have reached a passive state of physical exhaustion, therefore, there may be the application of a MILDER sedative; and with same carry the forces that may carry into the system activities that will make for a nearer balancing of the body, provided - however - that there are not the destructive forces created by self as given.

12. When these conditions have reached, then, that state of passiveness, there may be added this - and these properties we would give through administrations from the physician in charge: To 4 ounces of simple syrup, we would add: Tincture of Valerian....................2 ounces, Elixir of Calisaya......................2 ounces, 5% solution Bromide of Potassium.......40 minims, 5% solution Iodide of Potassium........10 minims, Tincture of Stillingia................1/2 ounce, Tincture of Capsici.....................5 minims. This may be given a half teaspoonful every 4 hours. Do not begin with this until there is EXHAUSTION of the PHYSICAL energies; though it will aid materially in lessening the tendencies of the spasmodic conditions, if it is begun at once after there is the perfect relaxation of the body from the hypnotics.

13. There should be given each day the CRC pellets; or colocynth, rhubarb and calomel combined, that the drosses and the excesses of drosses from those tendencies of the hypnotics and sedatives may be eliminated.

14. So, in six days - that is, from today - begin with the compound given.

15. After twenty-six days we would give further instructions.

16. Ready for questions.

17. (Q) Is there any hope of her mental condition getting better? (A) Provided there is prevented the destruction in self, or

387-1 Page 3

of the effects from indiscretion - either in the way of harm to self or exposure. This should leave as suddenly as it came on.

18. (Q) What caused this condition? (A) Mental worry, and - as given - poison accumulations in the system both from toxics and uremia. Neglect of self!

19. We are through for the present. Copy to [...] [husband] - Air Mail " " File
