Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [390], those conditions physically that disturb the body and those mental and material conditions that surround the body.

2. In the physical forces we find there are specific conditions that disturb the body at times. While these, as we find, do not always give such distressing reactions as to cause incapacity, there are few times that the body is not aware of their effects in the system.

3. These conditions of the specific nature, as we find, may be termed from the effects of mal-nourishment, especially to portions of the system; and the effects of this being in the system now, with the developing and the changes coming about, find their expression in varied manners. Particularly the extremities of the body are affected in the present, through the manner in which there is the incoordination of nerve supply, and - necessarily, then - the blood supply is lacking in the flow or coordination through the portions of the system. These find expression in the arm, the hand, and in the lower limbs and feet, where (in the feet particularly) - through the strains that have existed, with the poor circulation and the impoverishment of the body as related to the well-balance in the diets that would have meant for the supplying in the system of elements for complete development - there has been made those conditions in the burses, and in the portions of the body, as to cause distress - and great distress at times, especially when the activities require a great deal of standing, moving, or activity of the body.

4. In their reflexes to the other portions, or extremities, these then make for specific conditions that exist in locomotory centers, or an impoverishment in the nerve and muscle supply; specifically in the 4th lumbar plexus and in the 2nd dorsal plexus, or the brachial plexus. These are the specific conditions.

5. To meet the needs of these conditions in the present would require that there be both local and internal applications for these affected portions of the system, or first a cleansing of the system in a nature and manner as to allow the glands - or the secreting portions of the system, that supply elements for the resuscitation and for the coordinating of impulses through the system - to act in an excessive or a normal way and manner.

6. First we would cleanse the system as related to the alimentary canal, preparing this as a dose - and at least three of these we would take, allowing a day between each dose: Podophyllum............1/4 grain, Leptandrin.............1/2 grain, Sanguinaria............1/2 grain, Senna..................1/4 grain.

7. These may be put in capsule and taken. Drink plenty of water; at least six to eight glasses taken each day, especially during the period that these are to be taken.

8. When the body has rested from this for three days, begin with small doses of Atomidine; three to five drops twice each day - before the breakfast of morning (or on arising) and just before retiring in the evening.

9. For the specific or local applications, we would massage the lower limbs and the feet with a combination of these properties: To 1/2 pint of Russian White Oil, add: Witchhazel...............1 ounce, Oil of Cedar...........1/2 ounce, Oil of Mustard.........1/4 ounce.

10. Shake these together, and each evening when ready for retiring use in a massage all along the route of the sciatic nerve, from the hips to the feet; then massage feet thoroughly with same, rubbing in all that the body - or the flesh - will absorb.

11. We will find that these will remove those troublesome conditions.

12. It would be well, after the beginning of the applications, that there be the massage with the electrically driven vibrator, specifically in the lumbar area and the upper dorsal area.

13. Keep the diet, then, well-balanced; but with a tendency more towards the alkaline; less meats, save those of fowl or of lamb.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) What can be done for left arm?

(A) We have just given it!

16. (Q) What should be put on scalp before washing? (A) With the change of the vibrations - that will be created by the massage to portions of the body - we will find a change in the activities of the blood supply, and there will not be those continual disturbances - even in scalp; but, for the local application, it would be well that there be massaged into same - at least once a week - first that of Crude Oil (very small quantity), and then cleansed with a weak alcohol solution one to twenty; that is, one drop of GRAIN alcohol (not rub alcohol, but GRAIN alcohol) to twenty drops of water - that proportion, or one ounce to twenty ounces of water, see? This could be kept to be used in cleansing the oil and the hair. When any soap is used, that which has a tar base is well - or that which is in such a category basis for soaps. With these preparations, however, this would NOT be necessary TOO often.

17. (Q) Regarding mental and material welfare: Should I get married or stay single? (A) Under the existent general conditions, the associations or relations that are seen for the body, and the indecisions as related to individuals both in the present surroundings and the land of nativity, it would be well for the time being that the body remain single. Then, when the PHYSICAL body is in better shape, as well as circumstances, conditions, and the mental attitude towards individuals with, by and through the surroundings that will come about, it would be well for marriage; for - as we see - for most individuals (not all) the making of the home is the ideal condition.

18. (Q) If I should get married, is the right man here or in Germany? (A) As we have given, let's get the physical condition and the mental attitudes in better shape before these are considered.

19. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " File
