Time of Reading 3:25 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. (Body and enquiring mind of [391], present in this room, in regard to his health, his work, and personal affairs. You will answer the questions which he will submit, as I ask them.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [391]; this we have had before.

2. In the physical forces of the body, these we find in the general are very good at the present time. As has been indicated, there are those tendencies - from the varied conditions that have been outlined - for weakness in portions of the body, through outside influences or strains and the effect same has upon portions of the body. But if there are the proper precautions taken respecting the activities, the diet, and the like, we will find that the general condition will remain very near to normal.

3. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to stop smoking altogether? (A) As has been indicated or said about other stations in life, [I Cor. 7:38 in re marriage?] he that smokes doeth well, he that smokes not doeth better. But in moderation, this is not harmful to the body. In excess, harmful to ANY body.

5. (Q) Would it be advisable to stay here all the year round for my health? (A) When the general conditions are considered from this standpoint alone, taking all things that have been given into consideration respecting the general climatic conditions respecting health and as related to this body. This would be very well. And, as we find, there may be made those connections, those associations or relations that would make this a satisfactory arrangement for the body.

6. (Q) Will the two stands I have in mind, the lot on 26th St. & cor. of Atlantic Ave., and the stand between 21st & 22nd St. on Atlantic Ave., be a paying proposition this summer? (A) To be sure, many things are to be considered in such an

391-7 Page 2

undertaking. As we would find in such an arrangement, it would be very much better for the efforts of the body to be concentrated in one than having the mind and the abilities separated - unless there are those associations wherein there may be the absolute confidence in the abilities of those who conduct or handle same. For, when there is a division there is necessarily more worriment than there is from the one undertaking. Not that individuals should not take advantage of situations and expand as conditions justify, but when there is considered those things that have arisen when there were the closer associations and where the body itself was looking after the conditions about such an undertaking, it is seen that these might tend to lead to more trouble than there would be advantage made from such a division of opportunities or possibilities in such division. Then, the one between 21st and 22nd would be the preferable, when all things are considered, if the efforts are to be put into the one. If there are to be those associations where there are the connections that make for each individual looking after his own interests as well as the other's, then both of these may be considered as good propositions.

7. (Q) Is it best that I have one or more partners for the two places? (A) Have one; don't have more than one!

8. (Q) Which of the following would be preferable? Sol Tepper, T. Neville or Boo Hawkins? (A) Sol Tepper.

9. (Q) How much money should I put into the building of a place on 26th St. lot to make it attractive enough to draw the business required to make it a success? (A) Not over seventy-five or a hundred dollars.

10. (Q) Do you think that a skating rink would be a success here at the Beach during the summer season or even all the year round? (A) Would be well for such in the latter portion of the season, and in the fall and a portion of the winter. And ALL the summer would not be so good. If such is begun in the middle or latter portion of July (this is even after what is termed the big day), through August - latter part of July, August and September, October, November, be well. Then, when opened in the early portion of the year, in February and March of next year be very good.

11. (Q) What location would be advisable for it, if so? (A) Recreation Hall at the southernmost portion or south portion of the Beach, 14th to 13th, 16th Street.

12. (Q) How can that be obtained? (A) Leased.

13. (Q) From whom? (A) Owners!

14. (Q) How much rent could I afford to pay? (A) This is one of the things that it would be well to consider as for the time or the season, and this would be better made at that period of the year when such a lease would run from $35 to $50 per month.

15. (Q) Is there any suggestion you can give me as to how I can get into some business of my own or partnership that would be successful in the next two or three years? (A) There has been given the body that information concerning how and in what lines of endeavor the body might meet and act to make for the best associations for self; as in the recreations for the young and old alike. Such an undertaking here, in the form that would eventually mean the organization of a Y.M.C.A. would be the character of organization that would be well for the body to consider; for with the beginning of such as the skating rink, with those that own the buildings that have been vacant or not used for other than a few months of the season, there could be builded into those very surroundings that which would make for a recreation place for basket ball, outdoor handball, for the skating rinks, and for such - though do not include pool tables or games of chance in such, but that that may appeal to both sexes in such a way and manner as to make for the centralization of those that need such; and you'll find you'll have a good business!

16. (Q) What were my association with [R...] [See 3/1928 ltr. under 391-1, etc.] in my former appearances, and which ones? (A) We find rather in the Grecian activities, and those associations were as ones that aided each in close associations in the games, sports and the like, of that era, age or period.

17. (Q) Would a marriage between us be a success and best for most everyone concerned? (A) Be very much in the same relations that existed - made a success then!

18. (Q) Working together in the games and sports as associates, or as husband and wife? (A) Husband and wife, and worked together.

19. (Q) Would that be the way it should work out now? (A) Be very well in the same way and channel!

391-7 Page 4

20. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to marry within the next year or two, or wait until I am financially independent? (A) If you wait until you're financially independent, you may be too old! Working it out together, where there are those associations and activities that are aidful one to another, would make for the better economical, the better material, physical and mental associations for all concerned!

21. (Q) Are there any suggestions that you can offer as to the above associations that would be of help to either of us? (A) Much might be given as to the associations in those periods as outlined. As to that which might be the most helpful, when the ideals and purposes and desires of all concerned in such relationships or such activity are in accord and in keeping with that that is in the heart and soul of each, these may be better worked for one another. For in this sphere of activity it is as of SOUL development for each, and thus is SELF-development. That individuals thus associated or thus united in material endeavors may work together for that which is a stimuli one for the other in such soul development is that to be most desired, and makes for such unions that make what is termed the happy home.

22. (Q) When would be the best time for us to marry? (A) This spring year.

23. (Q) This spring of the present year? (A) Or next, either one, whichever makes for the better associations of that as may be undertaken together.
