1. EC: [In undertone, when [394]'s name and address were given: "Traveling!" See 394-5, Par. B2.] Yes, we have the body here. General improvements, as we find, are being made in all portions of the body.
2. From the lack of the resistances, or the resistances that have been builded and the lack of poisons to work upon, there are periods when the body experiences weakness and dizziness, unsteadiness, and a tendency for portions of the structural portions to be somewhat stiff and screechy, as it were, in their activity.
3. We would keep much of the manipulative or massage or neuropathic administration, following the nerves from their various plexus center in the lumbar and lower areas of the body to the end of the limbs, see? Massage these thoroughly.
4. Also we would be very careful to keep up the ELIMINATIONS properly balanced by the diet and by the use of enemas when necessary, that we get rid of all this pus and the accumulations in all portions of the bowels and through the colon area; for the great tendency is to throw these poisons into this portion of the system for eliminations, and unless these are eliminated properly they tend to set up those portions or periods that make for a pressure through formation of gases or the formation of inflammatory AREAS in portions of the body. These may be detected very correctly by the body so making the applications, by finding cold and warm portions over the abdominal area. And a massage for this, over these areas, with or before or after or during whatever is necessary to remove such eliminations, either by enemas or by the general activity of properties given, see, will be beneficial in bringing these to a more normal condition.
5. We would also make a compound to massage into the lumbar, the sacral, along the sciatic nerves, and massage gently
394-5 Page 2
into the lower limbs - this as a solution, either before or just after the treatments as indicated are given, only massaging into same what the body will absorb. This may be done once a day for a little while; that is, for four or five days, and then it may be done every other day or every third day until there is sufficient strength in the limbs for the body not only to stand but to gradually begin to make steps, see? for it can walk, and it'll keep its equilibrium! Prepare the compound for massaging in this way:
6. To 1/2 pint of heated olive oil as a base (not boiling, but heated), add: Tincture of Myrrh...................2 tablespoonsful, stirred in, Russian White Oil.................1/2 ounce, Rub Alcohol.......................1/2 ounce, Tincture of Benzoin.................2 tablespoonsful, Oil of Sassafras....................5 minims. Shake this together each time it is to be used, THOROUGHLY; for this will tend to separate into three portions, but shake it thoroughly together. It is necessary that the olive oil and the tincture of myrrh be heated; the other ingredients, of course, may be added in their regular form and be shaken together. A small quantity would be poured into a saucer or open container, to be massaged into the portion of the body indicated.
7. Keep the diet in such a way and manner that we keep for rather an alkalinity in the body.
8. Keep these up, and we will find the general conditions are going to continue to improve.
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) Why do the legs appear crooked, and what should be done for them? (A) Massage them, as we have said. The appearance is rather the structural portion and lack of flesh on same.
11. (Q) How can it be told when the body should begin trying to walk? (A) The body will know when it can walk, and when it wants to try! This should begin as soon as the stiffness in the lumbar areas and in the locomotary areas has disappeared sufficiently that it does not cause pain to begin first to stand on feet. Pull up onto the feet, so that the knees and all will begin to MOVE, you see. Then, by holding to others, begin to first slide the feet along - or to rest first on one foot and then on the other; raising one foot

and bending the knee, see? And this may be begun by - well, a month from now, by the 15th of March; and by the 15th to 30th of June be walking!
12. We are through for the present. Copy to Daughter " " Ass'n file [GD's note: Dr. Grapes will no doubt be able to list an alkalin diet for you; if not, I'll be glad to send one.]
