Time of Reading 11:20 to 12:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Body and enquiring mind, and the information which has been given him through this channel; upon which he seeks expansion, clarification and further information, advice and guidance, as to how he may further his development and make material advancement in the direction as indicated heretofore. You will answer the questions he submits, as I ask them.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [416], present in this room; also the information that has been given respecting the body-physical, mental, and the material developments.
2. As we find in the body-physical, these conditions are in the present very good. However, there are those disturbing conditions that arise at times; and there are not the full or complete coordinations between the sensory forces and the physical reactions in the body - vision's activity. Still, these show great improvements.
3. Precautions should be taken by the body in respect to accidents during the next two or three months, respecting the eyes especially; for these come at this time under adverse influences from the astrological aspects in the percepts of the individual. [See 416-1 and 416-2, Par. 13-A, 14-A.]
4. In the material association and the mental development, and the material gains and progress, we find that - as has been indicated for the body - there are those material changes that will come and are coming about, especially in those relationships or associations as to the activities in a national and international way, and the communicative services. And in these channels, through these efforts that are being made within self for the preparation of such an activity, we find that there may be the greater expression, the greater activity. These channels are the manners, as we find, for the consideration of the entity in its progress.
5. As we have indicated, the preparation is to be through
416-8 Page 2
the present associations; but with the mental development along those lines of the radio engineering - and the activities that are to be installed or determined by some changes that will naturally come about with the expansions in the fields of development; as those investigations that are in progress in a manner in the present are determined for a change.
6. So, during these periods of the expressions, investments in such expansions would be well for self or those that may be associated with same who are seeking a manner for investments. And these are the channels for the work of the entity.
7. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Should I become associated with R.C.A.? [See 416-7, Par. 9.] (A) Rather, as we find, as has been indicated and has been imminent in the manners and ways of seeking for a GROUPING of individuals' expressions in the communicative line, the International Tel & Tel, and the R.C.A., and the Western Union, and the other communicative lines. These will eventually come to be known more in a field of activity of the R.C.A., as it OWNS many of the manners and ways of communications that have been under dispute. But these are the channels and the associations and the connections that would be the longer lasting and of the greater advantage for the associations of the entity.
9. (Q) When and how should I become definitely associated with the organization through which advancement may come in the communication field? (A) As we have indicated, these (the communicative lines) are naturally growths, that will be of a nature or an expansion to become all-inclusive, see? Then, the sooner the body prepares itself the better. For those that prepare themselves for activities in these fields of communication lines will make for the greater progress. As to how soon, let this be rather that self PREPARES - through its studies, through its associations - and sets itself in order and in line, by the making of it known. Not so much as a direct application for separation of self's own activities in the present, but let it be known through those channels that self is in that line of activity in which, when there is the need of such an one, it may be ready for those associations and connections then.
10. (Q) What department of communications? engineering, accounting, transmission, or what? (A) The engineering, or it may be termed as the engineering
416-8 Page 3
of transmission, should be the line in which the entity finds self greatly interested. Or it may be set in this form: In these three divisions of the communication line activities, one or the other becomes to the entity more APPEALING; or there is something in same that answers to something within self, as to its abilities or its interests or its desires in those directions. And as we find, as indicated, the engineering COMMUNICATIVE organizations offer to the entity the greater interest.
11. (Q) If this is the proper time, I should like to make proper connection within another year. Would it be possible, and what preparation is necessary other than pursuit of the studies as suggested in previous readings? (A) We would keep in line with those studies that have been suggested; and - as indicated - not so much make direct application for changes, but rather let it be one that enrolls in the order so that there may be the proper consideration as the communicative commission gradually increases or becomes more and more unified - and the entity would be in the position for the consideration, see?
12. (Q) What is the reason for my seeming lack of interest or ambition in continuing the radio engineering course I started? (A) Rather, as just indicated, the entity finds - while many various factors enter into the interest of the body itself - by natural eliminations the entity's interests become more and more centralized or localized in this or that division. Yet, as is known by the entity, by the very activities through which it has passed in reaching the present status in its activities, as to the various needs of the associations of such communications, there are the needs, the necessities for individuals that would be placed in COMMAND of any divisions to have the knowledge of that very portion which has become as a laggard in the purposes of the entity's activities - for all these portions have bean necessary, as a part of the development. And it will be found, as conditions progress, that such training has been very much worth while. Then, do not consider that - because there is now the lack of interest - such has not been necessary; for this training will not be lacking, and there will be the needs for same as the advancement comes and as conditions and activities progress.
416-8 Page 4
13. (Q) Can you give me some advice as to how I can begin anew and follow through - in my preparation? (A) As we find, follow through on those divisions of same that become more and more appealing - in the operative forces of the communications. And it will be found that all of these become dependent upon at least a working knowledge of the engineering features in all departments of same. For more and more will there become the activities in the radio-engineering activities; though the actual service in the divisions to which the body may be assigned, or the actual operative forces, will depend upon a knowledge or an understanding of same without the actual operative forces in that field or division. See?
14. (Q) Regarding the school in Baltimore mentioned in previous reading: Am I to attend that school, and when? (A) As we find, there may be the preparations without the actual attending of same - until there has been such an advancement and such a progress in the work of the entity in those fields in which the choice has become made, that there may be taken what may be termed an advance course in same.
15. (Q) About when may we expect the merger of the communication systems? (A) In '37 and 8!
16. (Q) Regarding investments: What communication stocks would be the best to invest in at the present time? (A) Tel & Tel, as has just been indicated!
17. (Q) What are the prospects for Norfolk-Southern stocks at the present levels, and what is the future of this company? (A) There has been for some time the consideration by the operative companies that OWN the greater portion of this stock of merging same more and more with activity through the Western and the Pennsylvania lines, that own the greater portion of the activities. See, there has existed for a time a PERMIT (That isn't what it is called we will find it here -); or there has been allowed by the State the right of way for two communicative lines that have been in part a portion of the activities of this very organization, in its basic line - the Southern, see; Norfolk-Southern. These communications or these periods END in '38, see? Hence, there has not been the advancement or the caring for the rights, the ways, nor for the communicative lines or activities, owing to the very activities of the larger organizations holding stock.
416-8 Page 5
Hence, as we find, if it is possible for one to INVEST in such stocks - lay them away and forget you have 'em, as it were; it would be very well. For in three to four years we will find these will be taken up, and new issues that would be from three to ten times as valuable as they are in their present prices.
18. (Q) How can I increase the Norfolk-Southern business at the present time, in my capacity? (A) This, of course, is in a manner OUT of the body's own activities. But as there are more and more considerations given for those increases in the activities and the interests along those lines of the Norfolk-Southern, then the proper consideration of the entity is to consider the needs for those whom the line serves in all its various divisions of activities. And in making those suggestions to those in authority as superintendents of the various divisions, the body may not only increase its knowledge of the needs of same but make for advantage in advancement and in the KNOWLEDGE that self IS making the preparations in self for further and further advancements.
19. (Q) How much longer should I be connected with the Norfolk-Southern? (A) This depends, to be sure, upon the preparations for self for other fields of activity, or in the communicative lines, or in the general divisions of influence or force in those directions. We would find that in '37 or '38 the changes would come about.
20. (Q) Will the Railroad Retirement Act be declared constitutional? (A) Too many influences enter into this for it to be determined from the present. For these, as we find, have to do with many things that are as political influences as well as the Interstate Commerce, as well as the general activities. These cannot be determined in the present.
21. (Q) Regarding the sale of my lots on 54th St., Va. Beach: Should I still dispose of them in April or May? If so, at what price and through what individual - or individuals? (A) As we find, that will be a time for such consideration. For as there are increased activities through the various agencies that are allowing for developments, these lots will become more and more valuable; and there should be at least from fifty to a hundred percent advance from the price paid - also consideration of all that has been put out in the development. As to what channel for disposal, use those channels that are active in the distribution of such properties in that particular area or territory. Masury. [Arthur Masury]

22. (Q) What should I do with the net profits? (A) Either invest in the communication lines or in Southern!
23. (Q) Regarding numerology: Is there any special significance to the fact that #13 appears so frequently in my work? If so, what? (A) Thirteen numerologically becomes very much in the same position as Saturn does astrologically - or Uranus. These become either very good or very bad. But, as we have indicated respecting numerological or astrological or environmental or hereditary influences in the activities of an individual, they are rather signs; and should be used as same rather than DEPENDED upon as being that which BRINGS this or that into the experience! Rather does number thirteen indicate that such and such changes are ever within the reach of the entity, or that opportunities are constantly presenting themselves; and they must be weighed in the balance of that which is set within the mental self as a standard - from the moral, the mental and the spiritual aspects of the entity's activities.
24. (Q) Regarding marital relations; as indicated in my Life Reading [416-1, Par. 44-A], should occur this year. Is there any change in this, or does it still appear that such will occur this year? (A) These, as we have indicated, appear rather as opportunities; or these are rather the periods when such relationships may be consummated - or when such relationships may be formed that may later be consummated. And such influences, as we find, and as given, are present; will be present, we might say, throughout the whole period of this year for the entity. As to whether such a relationship is accepted, or the other way is taken that this will be placated by activities in other directions, remains as the choice for the entity.
25. (Q) If so, with whom - and when? (A) This again depends upon that choice made by the entity. For such an individual will be found within the experience, and - as given - one that is in the periods of the astrological or numerological survey of the associates for the entity would be the better choice.
26. (Q) Please give me any advice regarding this that may be necessary, or helpful. (A) As indicated for the entity, and as is the experience of the entity, there are duties, obligations, choices, relationships ever present that are the natural consequence of associations and relations for the entity.
416-8 Page 7
Considerations from the purely mercenary or physical standard are also ever present; such that if there are greater obligations taken, or if there are other conditions set up, these might become more and more those that would work one against another in these relationships. These contradictory influences are ever to be considered. But, as we have indicated from those choices that are to be made, from the material angle two to three years will see great changes in the POSSIBILITIES, in the probabilities of the entity's activities in a material and in a financial way and manner. Yet, if such opportunities in the relationships of the body, the heart, the mind, are allowed to be passed by, then these will be rather as those things that will be looked back upon. So, the choice must be made within self. As with every obligation, every duty, there come those conditions wherein justification of self through the very choice made must ever be the guiding factor. But in such justification let the STANDARD of self not be overridden in any way or manner. [See 416-9, Par. 38-A on 7/30/36.]
