Time of Reading 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York, N.Y.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [417], who is at [417]'s Shoe Store, ..., Long Island, N.Y. and who seeks advice, counsel and guidance, as to his mental affairs and material associations. You will answer the questions which he has submitted concerning these:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [417] - this we have had before. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Is it advisable to purchase half interest in the new patented two piece flush-ell? (A) This, as we find, offers a real opportunity for some financial gains, when the patents are entirely cleared from any of the holdings of those that have aided in preparing the necessary conditions for filing and construction of same. We would not advise buying entanglements, even though the product offers an opportunity for large returns. If the body is insured that these conditions are entirely cleared, and there is the sole right in and with the patent to the purchasers of the use and distribution of same, then we would.

4. (Q) How may he be assured there is no entanglement? (A) The regular channels that we go through with these. These have to be shown and presented, see, from those who now already have the interest, and who have been instrumental in making the preparations for the manufacture and distribution of same.

5. (Q) What is the possibility of advancement financially, and what are the merits of this patent? (A) These are easily seen in the fittings these are to be used with, in the various usages that such is made. The abilities for their quick change, the abilities for the replacement when they are used, or the activities are such that these products are replaceable where heretofore the same character of fittings - that is, the old style of fitting, single piece or the like, these were not as possible; for, as we will find, while the refittings or

417-5 Page 2

resales do not reach the proportions as may be seen in the first, when these are thoroughly understood - and there has become the more common use and the necessity of same in the various usages to which it will be put, in the form of clearances for the various usages - these will be seen, with the amount as invested, to make more sanitary in use, more effective in the activity to the fittings to which they may be joined - whether in direct current, steam lines or what not, see?

6. (Q) Is it advisable to sell the patent outright at the present time? (A) If the body is assured of the clearance of same, and there is the ability for the connections with the same ones who have been making the preparations (Newark Tool and Pipe Works), we would make the arrangements with these for the manufacture, until there is sufficient time that there may be started the plant for self, or self and associates, for the manufacture and distribution, see? Wouldn't sell it, then!

7. (Q) It would be best not to sell it outright? (A) If these are cleared, and there may be made the preparations for distribution.

8. (Q) Would it be more profitable to manufacture this item myself? (A) As given, as soon as conditions are cleared sufficient that this may be accomplished, would be better. Otherwise, UNTIL this is cleared - that is, until the circumstances surrounding the activity of the body allows the self to give sufficient time to same, see - then we would have it done under the supervision of the same ones who have been making preparations for same.

9. (Q) Name the best concern and location to buy machinery for the manufacture of this item. (A) As given, we would first make it through those who have already been making the preparations, see? Then, as these are developed into the usages and activities, we would change; for it is practically a perfected article in its present state! Only the usages to which it may be put, and some minor changes for the various usages would be necessary. Hence, especially while these developments are going on, we would continue under the same direction; but do not allow self to be led off to greater usages than there is the necessity for, to produce or cause an expenditure of sums of money for interests that would act in the capacity of perfecting that which is already perfected, see? Then, know what IS necessary - see? by the practical use and distribution, before undertaking to make arrangements for purchasing of machinery. Know the game, as it were, and the

417-5 Page 3

distribution and manufacture, before you commence!

10. (Q) Is it advisable to discontinue my interest in one of my present businesses and entertain this proposition? (A) As given, when the conditions are perfected - and when it is arranged so there may be given more time - it would require the relief of the activities in this field; and, as we find, the better would be the retail, though it has at some periods offered the greatest opportunities, yet with the conditions that will arise, with the readjustments, as has been given, the manufacture should be the one that should increase the greater. Then, after conditions are perfected - not before - we would make arrangements for the disposal of the retail business.

11. (Q) Would the flush-ell be as profitable a business, and is it worth consideration? (A) As we find, when these are presented in their proper fields, these would be profitable - VERY profitable; not only locally, but the exports of same would be well also.

12. (Q) If such a machine is purchased, is it advisable to have machine installed in the factory of the G & B Mfg. Co., or would it be best to rent an individual loft? (A) We would have at first the same manufacturers for the preparation for distribution as have been had. Then, when there is an understanding within self, or the body itself has gained sufficient experience, with the associations, needs and requirements for the manufacture and distribution, see, where the time is to be given to same, THEN we would make those purchases for the machine to manufacture same, and do it under its own supervision! Until then, make it WHERE they are being made. When machine is purchased, have it under its OWN supervision - or those of its associates, to be sure, or in its own loft.

13. (Q) Is the Pipe and Tube Corp. of Newark, N.J., manufacturing this patented flush-ell for any other concern? (A) That must be found out! for, as has been given, these should be cleared! and for the preparations, and for the work that has been done, there have been PROMISED concessions see? Now, these must be cleared before we would purchase an interest in same!

14. (Q) Is any concern infringing at the present time or contemplating infringing? (A) Not as we find. Be sure there is understood, however, in this direction, how MUCH of a basic patent is covered in that granted, see? As to how much there may be used something similar that would not be infringing, but would be able to be used by those desiring to obtain as near the same results as possible without the whole flush-ell as it is in

417-5 Page 4

this pattern.

15. (Q) Would Mr. Albertus of N.Y. be the right man to handle the export of this item? or who would the Forces suggest to handle same? (A) As we find, he would be very good to consider in this direction.

16. (Q) How should the entity apply himself to make this business a success? State how and what to do. (A) Study to know the usages, advantages, costivity, replacement of - or study to know the usages of the whole connection, not only the advantage but the disadvantage of the old mode or manner in which they are put into the same use. This may be studied by the consideration of the various usages to which this flush-ell may be used, for they are many - and they cover several different fields, to be sure. In this way may the body make not only a success, but a large success, and make for that activity that would be most gratifying; for the production or productive field - as has been given for the body - is that which is the greater field for advancement, or the manufacturing end.

17. (Q) How many flush-ells are used a year for replacement purposes, and how many in the potteries for N.Y? (A) That depends upon the character of the business, or the connection in which these are used, see? These will be found, that this is an advantage it will be spoken of by those not using same as a disadvantage, see? These are about a sixteen percent that may be replacements, after this has been thoroughly demonstrated as to the advantage of such. That's a year. One in sixteen, see?

18. (Q) How many in the potteries for N.Y? (A) These would run a great deal higher - about thirty percent higher.

19. (Q) Are there any suggestions and advice for the advancement and betterment of this product and business? (A) As given, this is almost a perfected product. Only in the various usages, various fields, see, will there be found that there will be some alterations or change, but these are covered by that which has been granted - though there are those considerations first and foremost of what has been promised, in the fields or directions where the developments have come, by those who have been working on same.

20. (Q) Name concern that would supply brass tubing at the best prices and best deliveries. (A) Any of those, as we find - the Newark gas fittings, or brass fittings connections are well, and these are as cheap and the deliveries are such that these would be satisfactory, as it would also for the vitreograph companies

417-5 Page 5

that would supply some other portions of same as advancement comes along. These are all of Newark.

21. (Q) Should the manufacture of this item be given my full time and attention? (A) When it becomes necessary, we would.

22. (Q) Should a corporation be formed now, and what would be a suitable name for this item and company? (A) When these conditions are cleared, and there is the decision that this is to be accepted or rejected. If it is accepted, then we would form the corporation, and the name of the organization should be along the line of that in which, of which, this is to supply the needs to the people - or Flush-Ell Corporation is well.

23. (Q) Would the Continental Bank of N.Y. assist in the financing of this business? (A) When these conditions all are clarified, as we find, they would be interested.

24. (Q) Would it be best to take in as a third partner one with financial backing? or can this business be carried on with small capital? (A) It can be carried on with a small capital, but there may be - if all conditions are cleared properly - that it would be more advantageous to have that to allow the carrying on of same in a larger scale, for larger expansion, for this will be in a little while that of mass production business, see?

25. (Q) How can this business be best financed? (A) Through one or the other of these channels. One that may be a party to same for an interest, with only their working capital representing their interest in the undertaking, or through the finance corporations that are interested in the perfecting of such conditions - as the Continental Bank.

26. (Q) If sold outright, how much money should this patent bring? (A) Be more effective, or more worthwhile, NOT sold outright; provided these things and these considerations as given are taken thoroughly into consideration. Go over this information here. Lay aside those questions that would be asked. Have these verified in every direction, see? and be insured, by those that are representing the owners of the holders of the patent, that there IS no come-back from any individual, corporation or the like, from promises made in any direction for the perfecting of same. Then begin with these in the way and manner outlined. First, until there is the thorough understanding by the self (who is to handle the needs, the possibilities, the abilities, the faults, the advantages, the disadvantages of the situations presented by

417-5 Page 6

the use of the article in the various fields that may be outlined for same), have these made in and through the same channels as they have been, for the first three to six months, until these things are thoroughly understood - see? Then, perfect self as to the needs of the things (in its mind, mentally), then make the arrangements for the machine to be used in the own plant, factory or loft.

27. (Q) Is the body right in his judgement to expect a large income yearly on this patent? (A) As mass production increases, he may.

28. (Q) Any other advice for this body at this time? (A) Go thoroughly over or into this situation. First, as we have been giving, acquaint self with the whole facts - then act! and the act doesn't mean to go ahead and do it irrespective, but use common sense and judgement!

29. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " File
