Time of Reading 4:15 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Tenn. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. Not so good in some respects. Lost some ground by contraction of fresh cold and the inabilities to make for resistances sufficient in the body to meet the needs in the circulation; tending to make - by the slow activity of the liver, by the upset in digestive area - for strept, and this in the blood itself produces much more severe pains in the lungs themselves.

2. Do not be unduly alarmed as yet from the coughing or from the amount of phlegm that is expectorated. Do not be so mindful of taking the temperature; better keep that away for the while, for this works psychopathically on the body.

3. And if we will use these things, we will find that the strength will be brought back to the body:

4. First it will be necessary for the changing of the inhalant; that is, the brandies, for these were not so good in the first, and they have deteriorated to where they are not as good as they should be. In using same at present, or until there can be some changes made, get a fresh supply of brandy, see - a pint will be sufficient just now. When there is the tendency for coughing, choking up, or the heaviness, pour about a tablespoonful of the brandy into a pint of boiling water and let the body inhale the fumes from this, by putting a cover over the head even, you see, and let the steam, the fumes, be breathed into the nostrils and deep into the lungs, see?

5. As to the matter of diet, prepare all the BEEF juice (not broth, but beef JUICE) that the body may take, and do not have any fats in the meat when the juice is prepared - and cook it DONE, the meat, you see, for an hour and a half to two or three hours; then strain off, but don't eat the meat - it isn't good for a dog even! Take the juice in very small quantities. If it is given every thirty minutes, a teaspoonful or so, so much the better. At regular meal

times, take the yolk of egg, coddled or boiled, and toast, liver Broiled, not fried), the broths and meat of WILD game - and all the milk the body may well assimilate; if possible, have the milk warm from the animal heat of the cow - but be sure the cow is free from any infectious forces, see? Have the milk tested before it is used for the body. There's been some taken that hasn't been so well!

6. Keep the eliminations by the use of oil enemas for the evacuation of the colon, where there's been the tendency for the accumulation - and that makes for bad conditions in the digestive system, upsetting the stomach sometimes back - because there was some food taken that was not just as fresh as it should have been; but use the enemas in this way and manner:

7. In the first quart and a half of water used, put a level teaspoonful of salt (put this in first) and a heaping teaspoonful of baking soda. Dissolve this.

8. After the evacuation, in the last pint of water, put the Russian White Oil. This will float, to be sure, but it will enter the colon also, if it's used in the proper way and manner. Keep it stirred as it is used, that there may be the prevention of any forces that would produce irritation or cohesion in the intestinal tract.

9. Do not overtax self, and be mindful that the body is kept warm.

10. When there is any real irritation in the throat, hard breathing, rub rather the lower limbs and the feet with a compound made in this manner:

11. To 2 heaping tablespoonsful of melted mutton suet, add 1/2 teaspoonful spirits of turpentine and 1 level teaspoonful spirits of camphor.

12. Massage this in the knees and in the lower limbs, and ESPECIALLY the bottoms of the feet. And when it is massaged in the bottoms of the feet, either toast them before the fire or heat flannels and wrap the feet in same. This will make for the circulation changing sufficiently.

13. And if there are the proper amounts of the beef juices taken, and the liver juices, and the foods that are blood building, we will build up resistances to this body. Do not use too much sugar, but stick to the blood building foods.

14. If GOOD apple brandy is obtained, to 1/2 pint of brandy add 2 tablespoonsful of strained honey (real honey; this doesn't mean made from that selected from other quantities; preferably take the honeycomb and sling it, because there isn't any such thing as making the honeycomb with imitation honey in it!).

15. Then, to 2 ounces of Horehound add 4 ounces of water.

Let it stand, and what will be strained off and squeezed out may be put in the brandy and honey solution. Shake it together and take as an expectorant and as a stimuli. Don't take large quantities of it, but just SIP a little bit of it; that is, a teaspoonful at a time. This may be taken every two, three or four hours.

16. The inhalant will be the stronger for the relief. It'll get rid of the cold.

17. Do that.

18. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file " " Miss [243] (Directions were enclosed for making beef juice.)
