Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [424].
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the functioning of the body which make for dis-ease and distress. And these, as we find, may be materially aided. These have to do with specific conditions in the extremities and in the locomotaries, as well as the effects produced in the general nerve system.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [424] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. As to the BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find rather slow in the internal circulation and heavy with those forces or influences that should be eliminated through their normal channels; and are - then - affecting the body in various ways and manners, as pressures.
5. Hence sleeplessness, or insomnia, is an effect of the poisons that are not eliminated from the general circulations of the body.
6. In the NERVE SYSTEM we find there are such impingements by the effect of inflammation to the ganglia in various portions of the cerebrospinal system, and where strains have existed in extremities from injuries; as in the knees, as in the feet, as in the lumbar and sacral areas; that make for the acute pains which require the necessity of the use of bromides or hypnotics to produce or induce rest for the body. These naturally in themselves produce the extra amount of drosses that the system has to eliminate. They also slow up the circulation and tend to make for the contributory causes. While these will be found to be necessary at times, for there must be physical rest to the body, they may be gradually diminished as the conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body are eliminated.
7. As to the functioning of the ORGANS THEMSELVES:
424-1 Page 2
8. All show the effect of the distresses that arise from, and are contributory to, the general disorders that have been and are in the system.
9. There are also those conditions existent in the colon, specifically, that make for this greater tendency for the accumulations of poisons in the body; from auto-intoxication, from the lack of proper circulation and the building up of these distresses that add to those strains that have occurred in the body.
10. These, then, as we find, would be the better manners to bring about the greater relief; not only as palliatives but as constructive influences in the activity of the general physical force, that will not only bring ease but the activities of the general system to a more near normal reaction when all conditions are considered.
11. First, then, we would prepare a tonic to be taken internally, as an aide to creating the proper coordinating balance in the organs of digestion and elimination:
12. To 1 gallon and 1/2 of distilled water, add: Wild Cherry Bark.................2 ounces, Sarsaparilla Root................2 ounces, Cincho Bark....................1/2 ounce, Prickly Ash Bark...............1/2 ounce, Mandrake Root....................3 grains, Buchu Leaves...................1/2 dram. Reduce this by slow boiling to 1 quart. Strain while warm and add Balsam of Tolu 1 dram cut in 2 ounces of pure grain alcohol.
13. Shake the solution together before the dose is taken, and the dose would be a teaspoonful 4 times each day, before meals and before retiring.
14. As to the applications for the physical conditions in the body, we would massage the lumbar area and the lower limbs (especially the knee, where disorders have existed and the strains have still continued to be reactory in the system), and the feet also, with a compound prepared in this manner:
15. To 1 quart of straight gasoline, add: Camphor Gum....................1/2 ounce, Oil of Mustard.................1/4 ounce, Oil of Cedar...................1/4 ounce.
16. Shake this solution together, only using sufficient to massage; or dip hands in a small quantity that may be poured out and massage once each day, preferably before retiring,
424-1 Page 3
across the lumbar and sacral area, the small of the back, the head of the hips, the knees and the feet, using only sufficient that may be massaged so as to strike in to the tendons, muscles and tissues in the body.
17. We would also use enemas for the alleviation of the distresses and engorgements that exist in the colon. These should be taken about once each week, or oftener if necessary - high enemas. This will cause some little pain the first time these are used, and will make for a tendency of a weakness the first or second time. After that there will be little inconvenience, but a great deal of ease will be experienced from these eliminations and evacuations from the system of those influences that have so long caused distresses.
18. As to the matter of diet:
19. Be very mindful that the diets are kept in more of an alkalin state, little of the acids; for all forms of those that act as sedatives for the system are acid in their reaction through the digestive area. Hence, this would be given as an out line; though it may be altered to suit the tastes of the body:
20. Mornings - citrus fruit juices, those in combination or those as single. At other periods fruits or stewed fruits, with whole wheat or rye breads rather than white breads; and a stimuli either of coffee or any cereal drink.
21. Noons - preferably whole green vegetables; as lettuce, celery, carrots, peas, beans that have been partially but not wholly cooked but that may be added to the salad separately and not with the juices in which they have been cooked; and fruits.
22. Evenings - well balanced leafy vegetables, and at least two that grow above the ground to one that grows under ground. Meat juices may be included, or broths, or the like.
23. This would only be an outline.
24. Follow these treatments until the whole quantity of the first compound is taken, and following out the lines of those applications given, and we will find relief. Then we may give further instructions.
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) Will the body be able to sleep after taking this treatment? (A) As given, it is necessary for these sedatives to be taken in the present. As the conditions are improved there will be gradually the return to normalcy in the ability to sleep and to rest. The body does not only not rest, but the body is in misery most of the time unless under the influence of something of the narcotics or hypnotics, see?
424-1 Page 4
For the sleeplessness, after these treatments have been followed for a week to ten days, we would add the use of the plain Radio-Active Appliance - and this will make the body sleep.
27. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time? (A) There is too much reaction in the system for other than these as we have given at the present, see? The massage should be thorough, to be sure; not as adjustments, not as treatments; but as a massage only in the present. The others may be necessary later. Do these.
28. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " File (10/30/33 GD's note: Get tonic prescription filled, and the massage ingredients, from: Wickersham Apothecary, 133 East 58th St., N.Y.C., recommended by Mrs. [337], a relative or friend.
