Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., N.Y.
1. GC: You will have before you the enquiring mind of [428], ... Ave., West ..., N.Y., in regard to the piece of property she would like to sell - Lot 1, Block B, Grymes Hill Estates, Hillcrest Rd., Staten Island, N.Y., a map of which I hold in my hand. Considering that we paid $8,000 for it, and that there is now more than $1,000 due for 6 1/2 tax arrears, you will advise the entity just what steps should take at this time to dispose of the property advantageously. You will answer the questions she submits, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, all conditions that exist should be taken into consideration, and not a great deal of time is apparent. However, this is a condition where - as we find - the greater success or attainment may be had by the body HANDLING the situation itself.
4. If the body would go to those in authority of the Catholic institute there, and state just the conditions, the negotiations that were once begun may be brought to a satisfactory conclusion. State the whole situation. For, this is the manner in which due consideration can be obtained from those who have the authority to purchase same for this institution.
5. DO NOT handle same through agents, but DO this at once; and we will find this will have consideration.
6. Attempting to carry it through others would hinder from there being sufficient time for the sale to be consummated. And with the assurance that this is to change hands there may be given consideration from the back tax assessment against property. Let this be handled by the body, with those in authority in the institution. This is the manner in which it may be handled, and the amount will equal that first offered sometime ago when there were hindrances by others who disturbed or brought about the blocking of the sale of same.
7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Does this mean I should go to their lawyer, Mr. Widdecombe? (A) Those in authority. Mr. Widdecombe is in authority, but go directly to the lawyer the self - (Mrs. [428]) and with Mr. Widdecombe go before the Board, see? For this means there must be haste. Do not hesitate to state the whole situation to the Board, and you will have more consideration than if there were the attempt to carry it through others or to NOT tell the whole situation. Other considerations do not take. This is the opportunity to sell.
9. We are through for the present.
