Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [432].
2. As we find, there are abnormal conditions in the general physical forces of the body that disturb or prevent the better physical functionings of the body. These have to do with specific conditions that have existed, in part do exist, and the effects that these have created or brought about in the physical functioning of the body, disturbing the equilibrium in varied manners, as we shall see.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [432], we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY, we find deficient as to quantity and quality, produced by disturbances that have affected the equilibrium in the nervous systems, and that prevent a distribution properly of that assimilated in the body. Yet these, as we find, may be aided to bring about a better condition through these supplies.
5. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM, here may be said to have been the beginning or the causes; for with the effection of the mucomembranes in varied portions of the body, through those activities that supply to the body the influences and forces that made for repressions in the activity to portions of the system - namely; through the muco-membranes in the lungs supply, as to exposures in varied portions of the body, particularly to feet, as to those that affected the digestive area, and affecting then ganglia in the
432-1 Page 2
cerebrospinal system, there has been produced such a disturbance in those portions in the system related to the centers from which the auditory forces receive their impulse of a circulation to remove used forces or drosses from the system, until the organs themselves have become affected by the general destructive forces in the specific centers and ganglia; as well as reducing the general vitality of the body itself. Through repression, through allowing those portions specifically in the blood supply, from the 3rd and 4th dorsal and the 3rd, 4th and 2nd cervical centers, to so disturb the circulation through the head and through the neck, through the portions of the forces that supply to the sympathetic and to the sensory organisms of the head, there have been made those conditions that exist.
6. Hence the condition that exists as related to the auditory forces is rather a specific, but its nature is a reflex condition; though the leading centers influencing the flow of circulation along the Eustachian tubes have allowed this portion (so necessary to the auditory influences) to produce first a falling, then gradually an obstruction, later a drying of those influences in the inner ear; which condition prevents an equilibrium being created in the activity to the auditory forces.
7. As we find, these are all reflex conditions yet present specific conditions to be met.
8. As to the ORGANS of the body themselves:
9. Brain forces are very good. The activities of the distribution of impulses from the brain centers to the activities of the system are well, considering the general condition even in the present; yet the specific conditions that have been indicated in the auditory forces in the ear proper, along the Eustachian tubes, the throat, all suffer under the general stress that does exist, not only from the specific condition but the general debilitation that was first caused that attacked the activity of the lymph or the water circulation between the active forces in the system itself.
10. These producing a drying effect do not affect the lungs proper, save as to the extent of their ability to so carbonize the system as to produce perfect clearness in the circulation itself; or not the deep breathing (which is scarcely possible under the pressure or repression that exists) as to harmonize the conditions of the body.
11. The bronchi and lungs, then, show the effects that exist from the first causes of repression, or from exposure, or from reflex reactions in the conditions that existed that brought about deterioration rather than keeping an
432-1 Page 3
equilibrium or balance for supplying the necessary influences through the body for the sustaining completely of a complete activity in the system.
12. As to the digestive area, the stomach itself is not wholly in position. This is rather from the general debilitation. Hence the position makes for an affectation to the digestive system, or the ability for all the elements necessary for the sustaining or for recreating the impulses necessary to function normal. Hence digestion is disturbed.
13. Yet, as we find, if there would be applied that which would make for a rehabilitation of those forces that would bring about a physical health, then we may bring about those reactions as to bring better conditions for the specifics that are existent also.
14. As to the activity of the pancreas, the liver, the spleen and the activity specifically of the ducts through which there is the activity of assimilation through the characterization of the food values as to their divisions that make for the necessary elements to produce functioning in the glands of the system, that supply to the body the greater impulse for the creating of the effluvia in the blood supply itself, we find that the ohms in their impulse for activity in blood creation to make for the proper distribution of the sustaining and resuscitating influences in a body are deficient. From what? Pressures that have existed in those centers in the cerebrospinal areas through which the system receives its nerve impulse for activity to near normalcy in a living organism.
15. The activity of the kidneys and the hepatic circulation as related to the liver and its activity we find cold, or below normal in its circulation. This makes for not a disturbance other than reflex in the kidneys; for with disturbance in pancreas reaction, in the liver, and specifically in the lacteal ducts, we find there is produced at times a scarcity of reaction. Hence influences to carry into the system poisons that should be eliminated. Hence there has been the activity to produce a more reaction. Hence at other periods we find an excess, until at times engorgements occur in those ducts that lead to activity of the liver from the glands as related to same, such as to produce irritation in the character of elimination. Hence at times irritation is caused in the bladder; reflex in its nature, but an indicator of the character of conditions that disturb the better equilibrium.
16. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions for this body, we find it would be necessary that there be added to the activities of the system first that which may build a
432-1 Page 4
better reaction in the ABILITIES of the system to meet resistances in the body. And as the system is rebuilded, then there may be made the corrections and changes in impulses from the varied centers or ganglia in the cerebrospinal system where repressions have been produced, or the conditions that have disturbed specific centers in the activity of the organs. And we may build for not wholly a perfect condition, for that which has become atrophied or deadened may not be wholly enlivened, but the activity may be increased until - instead of a four to six percent normalcy in reaction through the auditory nerves - there will be a forty to fifty percent reaction through these.
17. Begin, then, in this manner:
18. First we would take into the system those properties of the Animated or Carbon Ash, one-eighth grain every other day. Do not take the Ash in capsule, but pour the powder on tongue and wash down with half a glass of water.
19. Thirty minutes after each dosage of the Ash is taken, treat the body over the area of the secondary cardiac plexus, or the 4th dorsal to 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th dorsal area, with the ultra-violet light. This is to release for activity the oxygen from the Ash, through the expansion created in the lungs by its activity within the body itself; hence revivifying the blood stream.
20. At the same time, or during the same period of the above treatments, take in the system those properties that will aid the digestive system, the organs of digestion, the activities of the food values (that should be a portion of the activity for recuperative forces to be created), as to keep an ALKALINITY in the system; as in alternated doses of Milk of Bismuth and Milk of Magnesia, in small quantities, each day reversing; or taking one one day and one the next day. These should work well with the change that may be made through the character of foods that would be taken.
21. While the activities have been well at times for replenishing or rebuilding the system, these should be - as we find - more in accord with that which would supply to the body more nerve and blood energy; thus building a resistance in the energies and activities of the body. To be sure, this may be altered somewhat; but this would be a principal outline for the food values.
22. Mornings - citrus fruit juices; occasionally the yolk of egg (not the white of same) and crisp bacon, with a cereal drink.
23. Do not eat cereal AND citrus fruits at the same meal; though cereals may be used at times provided they are those that supply nutriment to the digestive forces.
432-1 Page 5
24. Noons, or the meals between the main meals of the day - would be of strong beef juices, or the active forces from vegetable juices that are strong in their activity toward supplying the elements that create for the body blood and nerve plasm (which are the iron and salts of vegetables and fruits that make for REPLENISHING to the system).
25. Evenings - a well balanced vegetable diet of all those that supply the greater amount of weight to the digestive system to make for the activity through same.
26. Then, when these have BEGUN to make for the changes, at the end of the third to the fourth week of such treatments (that is, the Ash, Light, the Diet, the Properties that work with the diet), compound as a stimuli to the activities of the impulses through the system these properties:
27. To 1 and 1/2 gallons of distilled water, add: Sarsaparilla Root........................1 1/2 ounces, Wild Cherry Bark.........................1 1/2 ounces, Mandrake Root................................2 grains, Buchu leaves.................................1 dram, Cincho [Cinchona] Bark.......................1 ounce, Elder Flower.................................2 ounces. Simmer in an earthen or enamel container, rather than aluminum, until the whole quantity is reduced to 1 quart. Strain while warm and add 2 ounces of alcohol with 3 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in same.
28. The dose would be a teaspoonful 4 times each day, before meals and before retiring.
29. This, to be sure, is only as a tonic. The active principles in these properties are for the activity of the organs that have become sluggish through the deteriorating forces in such a low blood supply.
30. We would begin later with the corrections for the auditory forces, but this should be started in the system before these are begun, so that the impulses that will be created in the body may make for the stimulation to the disturbed centers in the head, the neck, in the upper dorsal, throughout the cervical area; stimulating the Eustachian tubes, particularly, with a breaking up of the conditions that exist there in the falling of the tube itself, revivifying the activity of the centers that supply the activity to the head, the neck, the organs of the sensory system, with the low electrical vibration that may be had in the wet appliance battery, attaching the anodes of same to the 3rd dorsal plexus and to the 1st cervical plexus for a period of twenty minutes each day. This would not
432-1 Page 6
begin until at least thirty to forty days after the first outline is followed for the body.
31. With the massage, with the breaking up of the conditions where the Eustachian tubes have fallen, where they have closed in part, will aid in bringing back to the body its health and a greater percent - at least - of the hearing.
32. Ready for questions.
33. (Q) What should the dosage of Milk of Bismuth and Milk of Magnesia be? (A) A dessertspoonful in a glass of water.
34. (Q) What doctor in New York could give the necessary ear treatments the best? (A) Any acquainted with the methods of finger surgery.
35. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time? (A) Be persistent, be patient, be consistent with that which has been outlined, and receive the results. They will come!
36. We are through for the present. [GD's note: As I remember it, Major [432] was an elderly man who had been almost totally deaf for many years. He sought the reading for this ailment, because no hope was offered for it by medical science. However, the reading seemed to indicate other very serious health problems. The reading had been a test case before the Society, and no charge was made for it.] Two copies to American Psychical Institute (one for Major Copy to Ass'n file [432])
