Time of Reading ... Bldg., 11:00 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the Metropolitan Oil Royalty Co. of 1776 Broadway, New York City, the owners of a plot of ground known as Sections 4 and 5, Block 26, Public School Lands, Winkler County, Texas. Please describe this property and inform us whether it contains deposits of oil, gas or minerals in paying quantities; the location to make for the drilling of oil, and give us the various formations we will encounter at varying depths to locate the pool of oil. You will then answer all questions pertaining to same, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. In giving information respecting the deposits for the production of oil, mineral or gas, we find that there should be given or indicated the designated location as to stratum or formation - rather than in sections or blocks.

4. Hence the information here will be rather that of the GENERAL nature. Then, if more specific seeking is made - as to activities in an INDICATED hole or place - this may be given in a manner as to be used or abused.

5. As is seen from the general contour, this area is in that portion where there have been and are indications for traps or pools were oil might be indicated. Yet it is close to those areas where great faults to the west make this rather treacherous in its way of developments.

6. The fields of production to the south and a bit to the east have been satisfactory in many ways, AS a shallow and as a good grade for SOME usages in oil.

7. Greater production, and in most instances better gravity for general use, may be had in the midland field to the west.

8. In both of these fields - that to the east and that to the south - there have been some very badly handled properties. Yet so long as there were the flush and busy activities, these proved to be great speculative fields.

9. As they have settled to the nominal or normal production, these for the activities of pipe line and producing companies have become rather satisfactory and SLOW fields.

10. As to the area in Sections 4 and 5, in Block 26, in Winkler County - we find, as has been indicated by the productions that have been in a general direction towards these areas, there may be places not so deep as to be prohibitive in not GREAT quantities of oil or gas, as to make same prohibitive for commercial activity.

11. And the same would be true in these particular areas; for seventeen sixty to eighteen seventy to twenty-two hundred (1760 to 1870 to 2200) would be the greater depths to which any of these would be worth while.

12. It is true that both fresh and salt waters in these areas are to be in some specific locations encountered, as has been the experience in other fields.

13. These as we find then may be made to be not only speculative fields but as for royalties, as for production, an area in which gas (which is provided for in some of the fields for long pipe lines), and oil, may be obtained in such manners that the use of same to make the casing head, - gas as combined with others - might be made a profitable condition or experience.

14. As to giving specific locations, specific areas - these must be determined by those seeking and exploring same; and THEN that as may be presented here on any specific location chosen may be helpful.

15. We are through for the present. Two copies to Mr. [437] Copy to Ass'n file file
