Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Enquiring mind, reg. radio skits, etc.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, [454], present in this room; her work and the information that has been given respecting same.

2. In the information that has been given, these - as seen - are worth while, are meritorious in their service, yet that which has been given respecting same apparently has not produced those results or made for the associations or connections in such a manner as to warrant the acceptance or production of that which has been given would, should, make such connections, such associations.

3. The causes, as we find, are varied. These, to be sure, may be questioned even as that which has been given, as to who, how, to whom the approach and through what channels the approach should be made. Yet the changes that have come in the associations of individuals that have been attempting to aid in the connection for the acceptance have been such, with their change, as to make for hindrances rather than helps.

4. Yet, as we find, through those same associations, NOW, and their connections with the varied activities, there may be found that which would be the more helpful, the more assuring of the acceptance, of the presenting, of those that have been prepared, and those that MAY be prepared.

5. True, in many of the arrangements for such an association these have been changed as to their connections, yet through that association with the National Broadcasting Company, that John Knight can make, would be the channel through which such associations SHOULD be made.

6. While the activity of the entity, of the body Knight in the present, is somewhat allayed or set aside, as would appear, yet his connections, his associations, would be the better, or those people who handle that which Knight and associates use in their own work (though he in the present

prepares or presents more himself than that which he acts upon).

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Where can we find John Knight? (A) Through the National Broadcasting Company associations.

9. (Q) What is his position with them? (A) As indicated, he in the PRESENT is more of a WRITER himself, though he has acted in the capacity of an interpreter or an actor in presenting skits. He is at present more of a writer, but through his associations, through his connections, as we find, would be the better and the surer channel through which these may be presented by or for [454], that would make a success of the undertaking.

10. (Q) How do you spell Knight? (A) K-n-i-g-h-t.

11. (Q) What advertiser going on air would use my scripts? (A) This would be making almost too broad a statement. There is character advertising in many varied fields. But, as we find, these may be found BETTER by the association of, or connection with, one that is associated with this body that would be able to present to the correct or to the proper ones seeking scripts for the presenting of their program.

12. (Q) What are suggestions for pushing them? (A) We would first make the contact directly. Then make an appointment at HOME with the body, presenting what is to be presented of that in hand; knowing or finding the associations and the connections of the body Knight with those that present; for he represents, with his writing, those agencies who market or present or assist in preparing such scripts for such special programs.

13. (Q) What should I do, supposing Knight insists on appointment in his office? (A) Don't have it in his office; call him to your home!

14. (Q) Will he come if it's approached in this way? (A) He will come if approached in this way; as to the purposes, as to what is to be presented.

15. (Q) Would it be advisable to present scripts without pay? (A) We do not find it should be, or that it would be NECESSARY; but let it be handled through this organization.

16. (Q) Will scripts called Tina Mina be pushed in the same way? (A) Through the same association and connection, yes.

17. (Q) Can you suggest any way of improving these scripts? (A) The only improvement or only change, as we find, would be in fitting same for whatever special program, or who chooses the program, to fit their immediate needs. No other change, as we find.

18. (Q) Can you suggest materials for scripts on program for future successful commercial programs? (A) Many might be suggested. Better, as we would find, that that in hand at present be begun, that there may be the connection and association which makes for the arousing within self of those abilities that are latent and active in these directions, and that might be made more helpful, more of universal appeal, than even might be given - unless for some special program through such channels.

19. (Q) If it is difficult, how can Knight be induced to make appointment at home? (A) To be sure, it must be approached not on a social basis; but as a social business basis, and with that character of association or appeal there will not be any difficulty in making the appointment in the home. This would be preferable to the office appointment, with the personality of the body presenting same and the personality of Knight.

20. (Q) Is Lord & Thomas the correct agency to handle this? (A) In making the appointment or the association, or making for the connection, Lord & Thomas are very good. As WE find, it can be made on the basis as outlined, direct; but do not confuse them. Either use the one channel or the other, and don't bring confusion - as has been in some of those associations heretofore, where there was overlapping in the activity of individuals in their anxiety to bring about those associations and connections, which defeated the very purposes that were being attempted to be done!

21. (Q) Is it advisable to go directly to National, rather than to Lord & Thomas? as the scripts are now at Lord & Thomas? (A) As we would find, it would be better through Lord & Thomas, under the existent circumstances.

22. (Q) Should the advice given here be mentioned to Lord & Thomas, regarding Knight? (A) If presented properly; that is, in the way of not too serious, not too much of a banter, not too much of an anxiety, that will appeal not only to Lord & Thomas but to Knight most.

23. (Q) Is there anyone in the National Broadcasting Co. who can help in making the contact with Knight? (A) As we find, this may be perfected through this channel as given.

24. (Q) Should she write or telephone to Knight? (A) If it is chosen to go direct, then it may be first by writing, that the appointment may be made by telephone. If it is to be carried through by Lord & Thomas, then leave it in their hands; not overstep it.

25. (Q) Can you suggest any agency for short stories? (A) This would depend upon the characterization of the stories, but these may be carried through any of the many agencies, or they may go direct to the agencies that supply the various characterizations of syndicated work in any of these fields.

26. (Q) Is Grace Morse a good person? (A) For certain characters of work, very good.

27. (Q) What type or character should she handle? (A) That which may be of the syndicated character.

28. (Q) Could Bert Green be of any assistance, of W O R, in radio presentation? (A) May be very helpful in suggesting to or through whom, or what agencies that these may be presented in their associations for presenting of the script.

29. (Q) Would her contact with W O R assist in pushing the connection with Knight? (A) It could! And Knight's associations!

30. (Q) Are there any other suggestions for the body's work at this time? (A) As we find, the body should not become impatient, nor over-anxious about that being presented or prepared, for with the patience and with the persistance, as is found, there will become the connections and the associations that will be MOST satisfactory.

31. (Q) What time can this approach to Knight be made the best? (A) As is understood, there are regular bookings for programs to last certain periods. The approach to Knight may be made in the very near future, or between now and the fifteenth or twentieth of December. The bookings begin most with either the last weeks of December or the first weeks of January, for periods and periods. The twenty-eighth day of this month would be the better day to have all the guns ready to shoot.
