Time of Reading ... Place, 10:50 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [459].

2. As we find, the conditions in the present are acute; arising from cold and congestion, and affectation of the glands of the throat.

3. Because of the involvement of the glands that have to do with the production of assimilating forces, this causes the high temperature.

4. It is not necessarily of an infectious but affectious influence.

5. Then, as we find:

6. First, put the feet in very hot mustard water. This do, bathing at least to the knees, once or twice during the day.

7. Bandage about the throat a flannel saturated in an equal combination of Mutton Suet, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. (Precautions will be necessary, of course, that there is not excess heat about this portion while the bandage is being used; that is, heat other than thrown off from the body.)

8. About every two or three hours gargle the throat, one time with the Glyco-Thymoline and the next time with Listerine; both full strength.

9. Take an eliminant of a vegetable nature or basis, such as an equal combination of Fletcher's Castoria and Syrup of Figs; about half a teaspoonful of each, you see, every hour until there are full eliminations.

10. Unless the condition becomes localized it would not necessitate hospitalization, or other activities.

11. Do these, though, as we find for the present.

12. Ready for questions.

13. (Q) What is the infection in throat? (A) As indicated, cold affecting the glands. Hence the high temperature.

14. (Q) Is there anything to be alarmed about because of temperature? (A) Not unless it becomes localized, as has been indicated.

459-8 Page 2

Hence those things outlined to be done for increasing the circulation and making for eliminations, to care for the temperature. Do that.

15. (Q) What foods should she take? (A) Those that are easily assimilated; not acid-producing foods. Of course, lemon and orange juice combined, grape fruit - all of these are well. Stay away from the acid foods such as starches, heavy meats or sweets. As a stimulation, use chicken broth or the like - this would be very well.

16. (Q) What about her general condition? (A) From the easy affection to the glands about the throat, there are the natural indications that there is not as much resistance in the general system as there should be. Hence, as we find, Codiron would build up the system properly; this only begun after the acute condition has been allayed, to be sure. The thyroids, of course, is what makes the high temperature - and the affectation of this through the assimilating system. Do these.

17. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file " " Mr. [257] - Phoned also (Codiron tablets come in $1 bottles and are manufactured by Lawrence Laboratories, Chicago, Ill.)
