1. GC: You will tell us the physical condition at the present time, with especial reference to the burn on his leg, and you will answer the questions regarding same that I will ask you.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see.
3. Now, we find the body physically shows some improvements in the physical condition as respecting the burn on the leg. The eliminations and the conditions as respecting the general physical health are very good in many respects, but the eliminations are hardly sufficient for the needs of the general condition to bring about a normal development, a normal condition for the body, for with the present conditions increased as to the number of destroyed cells to be eliminated, and the poisons to be eliminated from the system, this elimination, while it should not be caused to become overtaxed in the numbers of the mucus or cell producing, or the juices or serums of the body, to the excess as to cause irritation in the system, this stimulation should be kept at as high a point as will not be detrimental to the body. The liver needs more awakening, for the taxation in eliminations in the present are being thrown too heavily on the lower portion of the hepatic circulation, and kidneys are overactive for the system, for through this condition we are producing too strenuous a condition on the glands about the kidneys, and the kidneys themselves. Hence small quantities of calomel, or of Alophen, or of some laxative that will act direct with the excretory functionings of the liver, should be given. Phenolax would be very good, see? followed - FOLLOWED with broken doses Castoria, or of Nujol, or oils, for the system needs these conditions kept in a normal manner to eliminate those properties as are used, and many are being thrown into the system, as is seen from broken tissue, and necessarily healing properties must be given to the system that this may heal in the proper form and manner. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Are the dressings we are using for the leg in the

proper way and manner, or is there something more or better we could use? (A) Use that as has been given - the oil at the edge, and extending this gradually over all that portion that shows any hardening, for this will increase the area of the new skin formation, and the application of the oil to the hardened portions, or that where any scab or any skin shows as covering, will be better to be oiled, so that the NORMAL secretions are aided by the food properties in the oil, and healing properties in the Camphor, see? Nothing better than that as is applied in the oils as are being used in the dressing.
5. (Q) Continue to keep the Unguentine plaster? (A) Continue to keep the Unguentine plasters, covering same heavy, you see, so there is as little sticking as possible.
6. (Q) Should this be dressed every day now? (A) Every other day would be better, provided the coating as is put on is HEAVY, see? Prepare dressing in such a way, such a thickness, that it excludes the air and receives the beneficial properties from the dressing proper, see?
7. (Q) Have we been using it thick enough? (A) In most places, yes.
8. (Q) Is one grain of calomel at night sufficient? (A) One grain sufficient. The Alophen or the Phenolphtalein would be better than the calomel, IN the present condition, provided the diet is such as to make same active. Phenolax is better than either, under present conditions, see? for this carries the Phenolphtalein, also the stimulation. Well that at times those properties as have been given in the small pellets be given, see? Alophen is very good, for this carries with its combination some stimulation to the circulation. What we need a more stimulant for at present, though, is the liver. Hence the Phenolphtalein as suggested.
9. (Q) In dressing the burn, should we use the Bichloride water each time? (A) Certainly. Each time.
10. (Q) Cleanse the entire surface? (A) Cleanse the entire surface. This is another reason why the eliminations must be kept, see? but this is necessary to prevent any infection, either from within or without. Hence the infection from the dilatory action of functioning organs must be heeded, as is being warned, more than the burn proper, see?
11. (Q) Am I (the mother) using the right proportions? (A) Very good. One tablet to a gallon of water.
12. (Q) What diet should I give him at the present time?
487-9 Page 3
(A) Much fruits as the body may easily assimilate, except of apples, unless these are cooked. As much of the cereal and of the gruels, whole wheats, as possible. Little meats - meats though that carry a great deal of the juice. Beef, chicken, fish, and any of the vegetables that carry plenty of iron - like greens of any nature, see? As much milk as the body can assimilate. Not too much sugars or sweets.
13. That is all the questions.
14. We are through with this reading.
