1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [487]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions. These are rather of the acute nature from infectious forces, as combined with cold.
4. The effect to the thyroids is disturbing, naturally, from the cold, in combination with the activity of eliminations as related to kidneys.
5. Thus, with the infection of measles combined with the disturbances of cold to throat, bronchi and larynx, we find that the areas to be warned about most are the lungs, throat and kidneys.
6. The precautions will be required, then, to set up proper eliminations in order to eradicate the effects of the infection upon the whole circulatory system. Also there should be precautions that there may not be the after effects to those areas as we have indicated that disturb the body.
7. Then - we would keep rather quiet; that is, so that there may not be taken more cold.
8. Begin with small doses of Castoria. Take about half a teaspoonful every thirty minutes until there are the thorough eliminations, or until there are the tendencies for elimination. To be sure, there is little to be discharged, yet the activity of the system needs the effect from the properties in this compound, especially upon the liver and kidneys.
9. When this has begun to act or to work through the system, take a saline to flush the system, see? such as ENO or Sal Hepatica.
10. In the evening, or as soon as the appetite requires, begin with the easily digested foods; as soups, oatmeal,

cereals, fruits of any kind that are palatable to the body.
11. Over the small of the back massage with the equal combination of Mutton Tallow, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. Then almost saturate a flannel with this compound and put over the area; applying heat. This as we find will not be necessary other than through today. For, with these eliminations set up, and with some foods, we should have the temperatures allayed and the greater effects of the poisons eliminated.
12. But be sure not to expose self in activity, or in the air, until two to three days.
13. For the irritation from the cold, or the cough, make a compound with a small quantity of an anaesthesia - such as might be prepared best by the physician, for it would be necessary with the use of same, you see - such as a small quantity of chloroform. Obtain same from Woodhouse, [Robt. W. Woodhouse, M. D.] see - just explain what is desired, and he will give the prescription for same, which will include other properties, of course, such as horehound and the like.
14. This, of course, with the Castoria, will make the tendency for sleep and for drowsiness. This is well.
15. Do not take the cough syrup too often, but about every two to three hours or farther. Do not take it oftener, unless there are the spasms of coughing and irritation - when it would be necessary; for this hard coughing tends to strain or to irritate the membranes in the bronchi and larynx, and the forming of such scar tissue by such strains would make the body subject to irritation where effects might be bad.
16. Do that.
17. Ready for questions.
18. The Saffron Tea is very well as an intestinal antiseptic; but these two areas or conditions indicated are those respecting which the body is to be warned.
19. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file
