Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [499], present in this room.
2. In the general conditions of the physical body we do not find a great deal of disturbing factors. There are some conditions that if corrected, or precautions taken regarding them, would prevent disorders or distresses later on.
3. These, then, are the conditions physically as we find them with this body, [499] we are speaking of, present in this room.
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY shows a normal, nominal reaction. There is a normal respiration, normal reaction in the activities of the hemoglobin. The balance between the red blood supply and the white blood supply is near normal. There are tendencies at times for the leucocyte balance, or bodies, to be less active than nominal; yet these vary according to the necessities of the body.
5. Hence we find the greater portion of the glandular system in the body functioning in a nominal way and manner. These make for less in some reactions than others, but for the body - in its structural portion and the activities of same - these function near normal. The impulse as given in the activity from inception is maintained in the present relationships in their actions throughout the system.
6. As to those portions of the reaction in the relation to the ORGANS themselves, we find these are very good in the whole of their relations.
7. In the NERVE FORCES of the body, sympathetic and cerebrospinal, here we find there have existed some disorders that if corrected - or precautions taken concerning in the present - will prevent some changes and some reactions that would not be well for the body.
8. For, in the upper cervical area - where, through changes
499-1 Page 2
in some activity of the body, there is not perfect alignment - subluxations in the 3rd and 4th have made for periods when there is a strain to the activities of the sensory organisms; so that the eyes at times give not trouble in vision but a little irritation, if there is the continued reaction especially in the activities of the body as related to its actions. In the same relationships we find there have been the infectious forces in the body that made for reactions in the muco-membranes' reaction to the soft tissue in the face, the antrums and the nasal cavities at times making for an unpleasantness rather than for specific disorder. Yet these corrected in this present condition, as we find, would make for a more perfect flow of a good circulation that would absorb much of that which has disturbed the body in the nasal reactions and in the conditions in some portions of the structural body to such an extent as to bring much better reactions, or much better conditions for the body and for the body's reactions.
9. These, as we find, we would have corrected preferably through the osteopathic manipulative forces, where they may be made to coordinate with the other centers where SYMPATHETICALLY at times the disturbances arise in organs as related to the reactions in the body. For, from the 3rd and 4th cervical axis we have a sympathetic cardiac reaction in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal area. Hence just the corrections only that may be had through adjustments would not alleviate or coordinate the reactions between the connections in the sympathetic and cerebrospinal forces of the body in the areas indicated.
10. As to the general ORGANS of the body themselves and their activities:
11. Brain forces are very good.
12. The discernments (as we shall find in those reactions from the development of the mental forces of the body) are unusual; much worth while. The discernments, then, are very good, and the abilities for coordinating the mental and material activities in self - in others; always a good judge of self and self's abilities.
13. In the sensory organism, as indicated, a correction needs to be made in the cervical area, which will make for a much better reaction to the soft tissue of throat, of the face, and to those portions of the body where both injury and reaction to those from the actions of outside influences in bacilli have existed, and will aid in bringing a much more normal condition to the body.
14. As to the bronchi, lungs - these, as we find, from the circulatory forces, are very good in their reactions; and
499-1 Page 3
the more the body keeps in the open, the more oxygen that may be had, the better it will be for the general reactions of the forces that may be applied for aid.
15. Heart's action, normal.
16. Digestive forces disturbed only through sympathetic conditions at times. The organs of assimilation function near normal, though there are tendencies at times for an acidity; from the MANNER of diet rather than the character of diet, for when the body takes thought as to its diet and what it is for such detrimental reactions disappear from the body's make-up, while when the body is overanxious or overtaxed it allows self to become reactory to conditions.
17. Hence these at times have a sympathetic reaction, yet in GENERAL the digestive forces are very good.
18. Then, in making the corrections for the better forces, that we have indicated would make the better reactory forces, the better physical forces that may give for the body-physical, the body-mental, the better channel to function through.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Have I any organic abnormality? (A) None.
21. (Q) Is there inefficiency on the part of some element in my body? (A) Rather, as indicated, there are some conditions the correction of which will make for the better flow of circulation through certain portions where disorders and disturbances have arisen, but otherwise the reactions are very good. Keeping a balance in the elements as to diet, so as to make for the proper relationships between the acid and the alkalin, the potashes and the iodines, will keep - as we find - the normal reaction that exists almost in toto in the present, as we have indicated.
22. (Q) What foods poison me? (A) The foods that are most harmful are those that make for too great a quantity of the potashes in the system, as those that are of too high an acidity - as condiments, as those that are of too great stimulation to the pancreas in their reactions, and such; that is, too large a quantity of hydrochlorics or too large quantity of proteins. Of course, starches need to be balanced with the protein and hydrochloric reactions.
23. (Q) What foods should I make a point of eating? (A) Those that keep a normal balance in iodine and potash content.

24. (Q) What is the limit to my athletic possibilities? What sports are good for me? (A) As indicated, all those that may keep the body in its activity in the open. As riding, golfing, swimming - all of these are the better for the body.
25. (Q) What causes me back-ache? Have I a weak back? (A) If there are those coordinations made in the upper cervical area as indicated, and coordinated with the centers in the locomotions of the body - as in the upper dorsal and in the lumbar area, where the axes of activity make for the perfect flow of energy and of blood supply, we will find this will disappear. It is a reflex condition, NOT a disturbance in this particular area. This may be determined by the body in this manner: When there is the intenseness, or the tenseness as to the need for the abilities of the body in its activity, the first reaction is to that portion in the 3rd and 4th cervical area; then the tiredness comes a little later, whether to eyes or to hands, or to limbs.
26. (Q) Does constipation come from nerves? How may I remedy it? (A) It is from nerves, sympathetically. But the better remedy would be the correction of repressions in the cervical, and sympathetic reactions in dorsal and lumbar, that will make for a better flow of all forces through the system; with the diet being less acid and more alkalin.
27. (Q) How best may I arrange my life for greatest body efficiency? (A) By keeping a normal balance between the physical and the mental activities of the body. Any physical body, mentally or materially, that makes for a strain in any one direction must eventually meet those conditions in the application of the abilities in self. Hence, keeping coordination - or taking time to play as well as to think, as to read - will make for the better conditions for a body, ESPECIALLY of one of such a temperament as is indicated from the activities of THIS body.
28. (Q) Will you please explain the cause of the terrific stomach disturbance last night? (A) There was first a mental upset, as was indicated by the reactions in the body to certain conditions or influences about the body. With the reactions from those conditions indicated, these caused the less flow of the necessary gastric forces through the areas for the completion of the digestion before the food values passed into the duodenum and the first portions of digestion. Hence we had an intenseness that caused disorders and unpleasantness.
499-1 Page 5
The correcting of these and keeping an even balance will prevent such reactions. Not that the body is not to be enthusiastic over this, that or the other as it chooses - but keep balanced.
29. (Q) Is it wise that the body refrain from eating when emotionally upset? (A) To be sure. Very little if anything, for it acts with too much of hydrochlorics in the body, as indicated by the feelings that come on afterwards. For, as may be termed in a sort of parlance, if the ire is aroused in the system for reaction there are those stimuli from the gastric forces that produce in the fluids in digestive system a stimulation to carry OUT same. Hence digestion is hard. And there should be the refraining from ANY eating, or very light - and that only easily assimilated. Make these corrections, as we find, and bring for the body the normal reaction from all portions of the system; taking self well in hand as respecting the influences that may disturb from the sympathetic reaction, or from the emotions of the body through the activity of the sympathetic system, and we will find the abilities will not be increased - but the ability to carry OUT those forces necessary in the activities will be increased.
