1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [555]; this we have had before.
2. The general conditions indicate that there has not been the elimination from the system of the poisons and accumulations that have been indicated at various periods of the bodily disturbances for the body.
3. In some respects we find conditions not so good, in others somewhat improved. But as we find in the present there needs to be the proper precautions and specific applications for the general as well as specific helpful forces for the body. For these disturbances are in such a way and manner as to cause a great deal that would be hard to combat later.
4. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [555], in the present:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, in this we find there are the indications of the very poor eliminations, and engorgements in portions of the colon area itself. The local applications that have arisen at times for specific disturbances have been only temporary relief. And as we find a course or a specific reaction should be carried on through these activities as to build that to produce in the blood supply a purification. These as we find need to be specific actions or reactions to the blood supply as related to the liver, the kidneys, and the whole of the hepatic circulation; as well as to relieve these strains through the alimentary canal, removing the pressures from the cerebrospinal system, thus relieving those tendencies for the nervous forces to cause the anxieties through portions of the body; overcoming these tendencies for the cold and hot sensations, the nervous reaction, the insomnia, and all of those disturbing forces in the nervous system that are contributory to those effects as we find there.
6. IN THE NERVOUS FORCES OF THE BODY, these as we find are the effects of those disturbances in the circulation, in the
555-11 Page 2
alimentary canal, in the pressures produced in the whole of the bodily functioning itself.
7. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain forces are very good.
8. The organs of the sensory system come under stress and strain through cold and congestion, as arise also from toxic forces. Hence we find periods when the nasal passages, the throat, the ears, even the whole of the general system responding to the pressures produced in same.
9. Throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx show this toxic force through the blood supply as well as those effects produced upon the heart's activity itself; the tendency for the body to feel smothered at times and necessary for the body to stand or to walk about and become overanxious as to the disturbances. Not an organic condition but sympathetic, and a functional disturbance in the upper hepatic circulation.
10. The digestive forces of the body we find produce a great deal of disturbance by toxic forces and those activities to same. And the kidneys as combined with the activities of the disturbance in the gall duct and gall bladder area make for hardships upon the system, as combined with this tendency for a plethora in a portion of the colon area itself.
11. IN MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE CONDITIONS WITH THIS BODY IN THE PRESENT, THEN, as we find, first we would be mindful as to the diets. Do not have fried foods of any kind. Do not make whole meals of bread, potatoes, spaghetti or great quantities of starches; but rather a combination of these in their proper order. Have three vegetables above the ground to one below the ground, or that ratio; and one of pod to two of leafy vegetables. These we find will make for a better combination for the body.
12. The taking of Olive Oil in small quantities will be helpful. This taken once, twice, three times a day will aid in creating - as we find, with those other properties that would be indicated - helpful influences for the body-functioning. Do not take more than half a teaspoonful at a time. Should there come from same, before adjustments are made throughout the whole system, the tendency to belch - then cut down the quantity but keep on taking it in smaller doses. For this is a food to the whole of the digestive system, that as we find will prove most helpful and most beneficial.
13. We would begin with Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic. Do not take a great spoonful of this, but if one teaspoonful is taken three times each day it would be better - and then every third day take Bromo-Laxative Quinine. This will act upon the system and should be taken as the best eliminant
555-11 Page 3
for the body. Then follow same with two teaspoonfuls or a tablespoonful of either the Syrup of Figs or the Castoria; for the basis of the Figs is the senna, and the combination in the Castoria is from the gourd and pumpkin seed that is much of the same reaction; or those as we find changeable or interchangeable would be the more effective.
14. We would continue with the use of the manipulative measures rather than medicants. For medicants or hypodermics for the pressures will not work with those properties that are being maintained or given for the body.
15. When it is necessary to alleviate the disturbances through the lower portion of the body-eliminating channel, or through the rectum, use the solutions that have been given. But the manipulations osteopathically once or twice a week, with the other combinations, should make for the better reactions for the body. And use the Tim in the high injections after each stool; not great quantities, but this is an astringent, a healer and an antiseptic all combined, and makes for better conditions than many another of such ointments' activities.
16. Do these and as we find we will bring the body to the much nearer normal conditions.
17. Take the Tonic until two or three bottles of same have been taken.
18. To be sure, not so much of the Laxative Quinine will be taken, but as these properties are taken - every two, three, four days to keep up the eliminations - take same in this manner:
19. Two pellets after the morning meal, about an hour. Two pellets taken in the afternoon after the noon meal, about an hour. Two pellets taken almost immediately after the evening meal (which should be the greater meal). Then when ready for retiring take the two teaspoonfuls of Castoria or the Syrup of Figs.
20. While these will tend to make for great eliminations, these should be kept up until we alleviate those disturbances in the hepatic circulation, relieving the pressures and taking off the excesses of poisons being left in the body.
21. The manipulations should be general, and specific in the LUMBAR and coccyx area; coordinating the central dorsal area, the upper dorsal and cervical. Work up with this body rather than down, creating eliminations or absorptions through the drainages throughout the bodily functions.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) Are there still blood clots in the body or have these been removed?
555-11 Page 4
(A) In the main, removed. Those tendencies for the segregations or for the filling up of lymph ducts because of the poor eliminations or drosses tend to make for the cold and hot spots over the body.
24. (Q) What is the cause and relief for the secretion that flows from the rectum through the skin and other parts of the body? (A) This as we have indicated is a part of the eliminations, and the attempt of the body to eradicate through the perspiratory system those poisons. Hence the necessity of this course of a tonic, a stimulant to the eliminating and respiratory and perspiratory system.
25. (Q) Should the Russian Oil and the Tincture of Benzoin be used now in the rectum? (A) Only when necessary.
26. (Q) Why is it that I cannot sleep in bed, but must sleep in a chair? (A) As has been indicated, the nervous conditions that produce the smothery condition around the heart and the lower portion of the lung area. Pressures! Nerve pressures!
27. (Q) What is the cause and relief for the peculiar feeling, followed by sweats that come over the body? (A) As has been indicated.
28. (Q) What is the reason that beard does not grow on several spots on my face? (A) The activity of the cuticle and the lack of the activity of glands in the system. This has nothing to do with the health, save as to the indications of this non-activity of the thyroids. The cleansing of the system should aid; but this has nothing to do with the health.
29. (Q) What is the original cause of the present condition? (A) As has been indicated, those disturbances in the gall duct area and hepatic circulation and the refusal forces of the body not being eliminated, producing greater toxic forces in the body.
30. (Q) Is honey the best sweet for the body? (A) The best sweet for the body, and not too much of that!
31. (Q) Does my mental attitude have anything to do with my present physical condition? (A) The present physical condition rather produces the mental attitudes! For one whose liver and kidneys are disturbing him is rather "sour" upon the material and physical forces of the body-surroundings!
32. (Q) Are the nervous spells caused by the treatments given by the doctors? (A) Nervous spells are rather those reactions, and if the
555-11 Page 5
osteopathic treatments are given in the manner indicated and not combined with too great an influence in other directions but given in the MANNER indicated, these will make for a much better condition and QUIET the body rather than produce irritation!
33. (Q) What drinking water would be best for my body? (A) That in the normal surroundings of the body is very good.
34. (Q) Is my work too strenuous for my body? (A) Work is too strenuous when there is this general depleted condition! but the environs may be made to become or make for helpful forces as well as satisfying.
35. (Q) Am I smoking too much? (A) In moderation it is not harmful, but never smoke more than ten in one day.
36. (Q) What brand of tobacco or cigarette should I use? (A) Whatever is chosen. As we find, as long as those conditions exist, there will necessarily be changes from time to time.
37. (Q) Is vinegar or pickle good for the physical body? (A) Very HARMFUL for the body!
38. (Q) Which bakery in Norfolk bakes the best whole wheat and rye bread for the physical body? (A) Choose that for the self. Bonds, as we find, is the better.
39. (Q) Please give an affirmation that will help me? (A) LET THE BODY, THE MIND, BE SO IN ACCORD WITH THE DIVINE, THAT MAY FIND EXPRESSION THROUGH ME, THAT THERE MAY COME INTO MY EXPERIENCE AND MY ASSOCIATIONS WITH MY FELLOW MAN THAT WHICH IS IN KEEPING WITH THAT PURPOSE THOU, O LORD, HAST FOR ME TO DO! IN THE NAME OF THE SON, I SEEK!
