1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [557], present in this room.

2. As we find, there are conditions in the physical forces of the body the correction of which would make for a much better reaction, relieving the distresses that at times occur - or the strain under which the body oftentimes functions.

3. These may be said to be complications, though the complication in this particular case is rather that the reactions occurring are often construed to be causes when the causes are somewhat hidden.

4. Then, these are the conditions and their reactions that we find with this body, [557] we are speaking of, present in this room:

5. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY, we find this somewhat deficient; that is, in quantity, though - through the ministrations that have been at times - the quality has been kept fairly well balanced. Yet anemia in a manner is indicated in the red blood supply, making for a metabolism that is disturbed at times; hence causes those conditions in the circulation and heart's action that show a form of disturbance, though not organic.

6. In the NERVE SYSTEM, and systems, here we find not so much causes but conditions at times that reflect or indicate nerve pressure; and a great deal of the disturbance is either reactory or arises from irritations in the nerve system, to be sure. And, as we find, this is a portion of that which must be seriously considered, if there would be brought PERMANENT relief for the disturbances that are shown in the body.

7. The pressures indicated, where inflammation arises to the nerve reflexes, are from the assimilating system - or the activity in the gall duct area, and the lacteals specifically; for here do we find the basis or seat of much

557-1 Page 2

of the disorder, and the reflexes to other portions of the organs show there is the cause.

8. Then, the activities or pressures in the nerve system arise from the lower dorsal and the upper cervical area, but - as indicated - arise from pressures in other portions.

9. As to the functioning of the ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find:

10. Brain forces are good; the reactory forces from same are good.

11. As to the sensory organism, or the impulse through same, here we find reflexes that at times make for disturbances. This is rather through circulation than through pressures in the organs themselves.

12. The indications seen in lungs, bronchi and larynx, are from those things principally that arise from impoverishment and the inability of the blood supply to be wholly oxidized or carbonized when passing through this for the clarification. And these make pressures and call for conditions where there must be the precautions taken for the system, and the necessity that there be applied to the digestive forces that which will keep the system built up and stimulated. For they arise rather from the ducts or glands about the lacteals, where there has been such an impoverishment as to cause these disorders that first or formerly existed - and pressures that were indicated in the organs of the pelvis itself. These, then, in their reaction, make for the distresses for the body.

13. Heart's action is indicated through the distress in the sympathetic reaction, rather than being organic.

14. In the digestive system and through the stomach itself, naturally there has arisen - and does arise at times - disorders. There is the inability of proper assimilation, or different forms of indigestion have at times arisen - but these are rather from the tendency for not atrophy but first a plethora and then an inactivity in the glands about the lacteals; hence disturbing the liver, duodenum, pancreas, spleen in their activity, at various times forming the tendencies of the reactions through the eliminating portions of body and reactions to the blood supply - as the indications have been seen.

15. The conditions in the alimentary canal have not been satisfactory, nor the organs in the activity of same through the pelvic areas. These have been specific, and reactions - or the reflected activity of a disturbance - in those areas indicated. This condition in the lacteals arose from a disturbance that was had in the body something like three and a half to five years ago, from a repression that was brought about by a subjugation of the activities of the body

557-1 Page 3

both sympathetically and externally.

16. The repressions in the organs of the pelvis are sympathetic and, as indicated, specific.

17. While adhesions or cohesions exist, these may be corrected and aid brought to this body; through the proper corrections in the cerebrospinal system and the addition to the body of those properties that will aid in purifying the blood (as related to its circulation) and stimulating - in the proper proportions of added elements in the system - the lacteals and the ducts of the liver, spleen, pancreas activity.

18. Then, in meeting the conditions in the present, we would find the application or use of these would be the most preferable way and manner to make for a normalcy for the body:

19. First we would begin with the use of the Animated Ash taken internally, one-eighth grain twice each week. Empty the powder from the capsule onto tongue and wash down with water.

20. Five to ten minutes after the Ash has been taken, we would use the VIOLET ray hand machine (preferable to the ultra- violet) over the area of the sternum; that is, the breast bone here in front, you see; and over the back in the area of the 3rd and 4th cervical to the 4th and 5th dorsal area, for three to five minutes - or two and a half minutes in either portion of the system, that there may be that aid to the lung and to the respiratory system to form through the superficial circulation the activity the Ash has upon the body supply, you see.

21. We would also begin with small quantities of Atomidine taken internally. Begin with only two minims twice each day, taken in a whole glass of water - at least that much water taken at the time, you see. Every other day increase the quantity one minim at each dose, until there is being taken five minims twice each day. Then leave it off for two days. Then begin again with the two minims twice each day, and so on.

22. After there has been taken at least one round of the Atomidine, we would begin with the manipulations osteopathically that will make for those corrections - that will make for those corrections - that should be made from the right side (in making the alignment), in the area specifically of the 7th, 8th, 6th and 5th dorsal, being more specific - you see - in the 5th and 6th dorsal area, with the GENERAL massage - of course - for the hypogastric and pneumogastric activity.

23. As to the matter of the diet, this should continue to be

557-1 Page 4

rather of the blood and nerve building nature. Not so much a SPECIFIC diet, as that there be kept more of an alkalin than acid reaction for the body.

24. Ready for questions.

25. (Q) What is the cause of the pain in the abdomen; persistent but not constant? (A) The tendency for the nerve reaction from that indicated as an adhesion or cohesion in the abdominal area, as reflected from those disturbances in the lacteal duct. See, this occurs more to the left side - or across the left and then to the right at times - than in other area. It is on the left portion where the cohesion or adhesion is, rather than a lesion.

26. (Q) Is it functional or partly organic? (A) As indicated, the organs are under distress; but it is functional in its inception - though the glands and the ducts about the hepatic circulation, or the lacteal ducts, are the cause - or the RISE of same, you see.

27. (Q) Is my liver organically impaired or just sluggish? (A) As indicated, this is impaired, where there are the tendencies for such an activity in the lacteal ducts and where the gall duct, spleen and pancreas are impaired by the circulation and by the character of disturbance in the ducts themselves. But the properties that we have outlined should be effective; for they act as follows: The Ash, to be sure, is for the circulatory system, RELEASING oxygen in the system so that the blood may be clarified and that the activity of the respiratory system - as related to the eliminations - will be stimulated. The Atomidine (atomic iodine) taken into the system in such a manner that it may be assimilated by the body itself is not to overstimulate or to produce irritation in an area where the disturbances have arisen, and from which they do arise, but to gradually build for the ducts of the body - in the ductless glands specifically, as indicated in the ducts or glands about the liver secretion, both excretory and secretive functioning, as related particularly to the lacteal ducts and glands. Hence, with this stimulation (and this brought about so that the BODY ITSELF responds) this will be overcome. The osteopathic manipulations are to keep the glands and organs COORDINATING in their distribution of eliminating and body-BUILDING materials as they are carried on in the system. And if this is done, we will find we will bring the

557-1 Page 5

near normal condition for this body.

28. (Q) What is the best way to cure insomnia and control intense nervousness and disturbing thoughts? (A) As indicated from conditions in this body, as we have given, the nerve reactions - both from the central portion of the body and from the imaginative system or the sensory organism - are disturbed by influences that arise from FUNCTIONAL disorders, and naturally reflect in the activities of the mental forces in the body. Not of the mentalities, but PHYSICAL disorders that disturb the whole body. With the applications of these properties, with the taking of those applications that will keep the eliminations and the stimulations coordinated, we will find these effects will soon disappear.

29. (Q) Have I sinus trouble? I have constant catarrh back of nose which runs down throat. (A) This is a natural condition from poor circulation in the lymph and emunctory activities of throat and head. It is because of the CHARACTER of this catarrhal condition that we have suggested the use of the violet ray hand machine rather than the ultra-violet, that the superficial circulation may be clarified by the cleansing and revivifying of the conditions. This is a secondary condition, but at times will necessitate local applications; and there will not be found any better than the use of the Atomidine - provided one part Atomidine to twenty parts water is used as a spray.

30. (Q) The left arm and leg go to sleep so much. (A) This arises, as we have indicated, from the poor circulation, and as indicated also - when the central nervous system, especially from the 4th, 5th, 6th dorsal area is disturbed, this attacks from one portion of a body. More on the left portion. Hence, as indicated, the pressure should be removed from the RIGHT side, you see; for the circulation crisscrosses over the body. When the pressure is on the right, the disturbance is on the left. See?

31. (Q) Will you recommend an osteopath in Philadelphia? (A) Soden. [C. Haddon Soden, D.O.]

32. (Q) Any other advice or counsel for the body at this time? (A) Do these, and - as we find, and as has been indicated - we will find these conditions soon clearing, and the mental and physical reactions will be WELL for the body.
