Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [560].

2. Now, as we find, the conditions that may be given as hopeful or helpful for the body would be rather the aftereffects which have been produced in the system, and the manner in which these may be prevented from re-occurring in a more acute condition.

3. These disturbances, as we find, have had to do rather with the organs of elimination; though the effects have disturbed many portions of the body - which would necessarily arise from the very nature of the disturbance. [Incipient cancer? Family history of cancer.]

4. As has been sought for, as has been asked, how or why would there be a physical disturbance in a body that is lending its faculties, its capacities, in aiding and in bringing health vibrations to another? [As a member of A.R.E. Prayer Group]

5. The main disorder, then, is a basic condition, and the spending of energy in self not only aids in rectifying the condition but has prevented and will prevent recurrent reactions, and should be a portion of the physical and mental activity of the body - to prevent recurrent conditions. This will aid the body greater in the balancing of the energies for the system than the application of great quantities of material things from without.

6. And in the conditions that exist it is necessary that a balance be kept. For, when energy spiritual, mental or material is expended, it creates within itself a supply that will replace - through the body's exercise of rest - and replenish more than that which has been used.

7. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [560] we are speaking of, ..., Virginia.

8. There has been disturbance with the eliminating organs, especially in the kidneys and hepatic circulation and their relationships with the hepatic circulation. Hence the

560-2 Page 2

weakness and the temperature and the excruciating pains produced were from incoordination, and created an unbalancing in the metabolism of the system. Hence - and this is not to create fear, for fear should be the farthest from the body - the distress comes in the heart's activity and its relationship to the preventing of proper coagulations through the circulation of the body; that is, from the nature of the disturbance in the adrenal glands, with the kidney functions producing secretions that harden or solidify, there is caused such irritation in the hepatic circulation as to strain the changes between the arterial and venous circulation. This causes an extremity disorder or heaviness that, with quick or sudden or strained activity, produces a fullness or shortness in breath and a pain in the extremity portions where the circulations begin their return, rather than going from - that is rather hard upon the body.

9. The eliminations through the activity of the kidneys, combined with the liver, makes for a tendency of a poor circulation of the lymph and emunctory through the intestinal tract, and tends for an unbalanced peristaltic movement; causing a tendency for constipation or the reverse activity, or sudden changes respecting the eliminations and activities through the alimentary canal. The repressions in the kidney activity make for a creation of uremic poison accumulation which becomes hard on this changing circulation, creating blocks at times - unless the solvent that is acquired or created (which is necessary and is nominally created in the system) is sufficient to prevent such blocks in a circulation.

10. No organic disturbance in the heart's action, the respiratory system or in the upper portion of digestion, but the hepatic or the liver-kidney circulation has been disturbed.

11. How, then, to meet these in the present?

12. The activity that has been indicated in the mental body, of using energy in its self MENTALLY, will replace more of that in the physical than of much medication; though it is necessary that what is absorbed by the body through the digestive system is of such a nature as to replace or replenish without irritation to the body the correct properties and correct balance to create normalcy in the circulation. This should be more through the specific character of food values; such as carry iron, silicon and - ESPECIALLY - phosphorous and lithia. The phosphorous forming foods are principally carrots, lettuce (rather the leaf lettuce, which has more soporific activity than the

560-2 Page 3

head lettuce), shell fish, salsify, the PEELINGS of Irish potatoes (if they are not too large), and things of such natures; these activities are the most helpful. Not quantities of any MEATS, even though the fowl and wild game may be AT TIMES included, but not quantities of same. Citrus fruit juices, plenty of milk - the Bulgarian the better, or the fresh milk that is warm with the animal heat which carries more of the phosphorous and more of those activities that are less constipating, or acting more with the lacteals and the ducts of the liver, the kidneys and the bowels themselves.

13. The only properties internally we would take as medicine would be prepared in this manner or form, and only taken occasionally - but not quantities of same:

14. To 2 ounces of Simple Syrup, we would add: Tincture of Valerian...............1/2 ounce, Lactated Pepsin....................1/4 ounce, Tincture of Stillingia.............1/4 ounce, Essence of Wild Cherry Bark........1/4 ounce, Essence of Prickly Ash Bark.........20 minims, Essence of Capsici, or Tincture......2 minims, Oil of Sassafras.....................2 minims.

15. Shake the solution well together before a dose is taken, which would be half a teaspoonful whenever the body feels faint or when it is overtired; but not more than once or twice a day. Of course, it would not be harmful were large doses taken, but it wouldn't do any good. And what won't do any good is harmful, then, in producing too great an irritation to certain portions - that the active force of these properties are in the system.

16. Other medications we would not take.

17. When it is necessary for cleansing the alimentary canal, from too slow or too great an activity, we would do so with enemas.

18. Ready for questions.

19. (Q) Has the [urinary?] abscess, from which I recently suffered, gone back to its nothingness? (A) Drained.

20. (Q) Has the inflammation in the bladder cleared up? (A) Clearing up; though, as we have indicated, the irritations from the activity in the kidney - and especially the glands about same have been easily caused by such a nature of condition. Hence the precautions respecting this, to bring the normalcy in the body.

21. (Q) Is that why there is so much soreness? (A) That's why the soreness.

560-2 Page 4

22. (Q) Is there any pus in the kidneys at the present time? (A) Little or none. Merely strains, or - as may be called STRINGS of same.

23. (Q) Where was the abscess located, and what caused the swelling on the outside? (A) Located at the head of the bladder entry to the kidney, or drainage from same - see?

24. (Q) What caused the swelling on the outside? (A) Inflammation!

25. (Q) After my recent illness, please tell me just what my system lacks now to ward off any further trouble? (A) As indicated in those properties outlined, and the character of food values that should be taken.

26. (Q) What is causing my restless nights, when the mental and physical bodies are so in need of rest? (A) The irritations to the metabolism of the system, or the nervous reaction from same. Hence the properties as indicated, through the activity of the Valerian and Stillingia as combined with the other properties, taken once or twice each day - half a teaspoonful. We only want the IMPULSE created in the functionings of the organs themselves, that will MAINTAIN a balance provided the IMPULSE is through the nerve plexus carried for same; as will some of these properties work with the creating of a balance between the upper and lower circulation through the hepatics.

27. (Q) What caused the extreme nervousness which I have recently experienced, and what can be done to overcome this condition? (A) As indicated, this is from the disturbance in the metabolism of the system.

28. (Q) What can be done to overcome this condition? (A) We have been trying to describe it!

29. (Q) Desiring to manifest health in the physical and mental bodies, why have I not been able to demonstrate same? (A) It was given in the beginning as to why. A weakness exists, see? If this had not been demonstrated, well - the body would not have stood it! It has been MORE than demonstrated!

30. (Q) Have I been trying to overdo, or should I continue as I have been? (A) Should continue as has been given, as has been outlined. If we will follow these suggestions, the body will build itself up properly. Should there continue to be the tendencies for insomnia or restlessness, the application of the electrically driven

560-2 Page 5

vibrator over the areas of the 4th lumbar, 9th dorsal and base of head will quiet the body. These are only superficial activities; and should be used for only a few minutes, but will aid in quieting the metabolism of the system. Do that.

31. (Q) Should I use Bicarbonate of Soda to relieve severe attacks of indigestion at times? (A) If the properties as outlined are taken, we should have little or no trouble with such attacks. If they come from acid, use Bicarbonate of Soda. If they come from regurgitation, or from the tendency of the system to create greater disturbances in the extremities - as the blood is taken away - Bicarbonate of Soda is not so well. Preferably small quantities of Milk of Bismuth with Lactated Pepsin.

32. (Q) What is lacking in my system that is causing my hair to gray, and what can I do to prevent it? (A) Eat more potatoes; that is, the skins of same, and we will find it'll change the color back more. The PEEL, not the pulp!

33. (Q) What is best to use on my hair at this time? (A) Any of those influences or forces that we have indicated are well for same. Nothing better than White Vaseline and a WEAK solution of alcohol; but grain alcohol, NOT that which has been denatured.

34. (Q) How should the potatoes be cooked with the peelings? (A) Either baked or boiled.

35. (Q) What can I do to strengthen my eyes? (A) These are natural conditions with the eyes from a poor circulation. With the increased activity in the directions indicated, these will be much improved; but - from the general physical condition it is necessary that there be aid for the vision.

36. (Q) Are my teeth in a number one condition? (A) After the general reaction, it will be necessary that there be some precautions taken respecting these in local attention; for with a disturbed circulation and metabolism there is a chalkening that affects the nerves in the activities of this portion of the body.

37. (Q) Any further advice or counsel for the body at this time? (A) If we will follow in these directions, in a consistent and systematic manner, we will find that there will be - as we have indicated - the recuperation and the preventing of any further disturbances in these directions. Overcome the anxiety by being more anxious for others and the spending of self in that direction.

38. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (5/26/34 GD's note: Letter was enclosed to Snyder's Pharmacy: Principal foods carrying elements suggested in reading: [Quoted from SCIENTIFIC WEIGHT CONTROL booklet, Continental Scale Works, Chicago, 1925.] IRON - Beets, whole wheat, whole barley, lettuce, spinach, lentils, peas, green peas, red cabbage, carrots, asparagus, yellow corn, ripe olives, unpolished rice, onions, blackberries, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, pears, loganberries, gooseberries, peaches, raisins, apples, concord grapes, rare beef, calf's liver, raw egg yolk, walnuts, almonds, beechnuts, rye, currants, cucumbers. (In your case, leave out the rare beef for the present and use only meats outlined in reading.) SILICON - Steel cut oats, spinach, apples, barley, egg yolk, strawberries, peas, figs, goat's milk, beechnuts, grapes, almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, carrots, shredded wheat, unpolished rice, rye, peaches, cherries, whole wheat, asparagus, cabbage, gooseberries, cucumbers, endive. PHOSPHOROUS - Raw egg yolk, whole wheat, almonds, walnuts, fish, barley, rye, peas, lentils, raw cabbage, milk, steel cut oats, etc. (see reading). LITHIA - I could not find a list of foods under this element, but in a recent reading for a child it was given that a fourth of a lithia tablet be taken in a glass of water each day, to keep the eliminations through the alimentary canal as related to the activities of the kidneys. If you haven't an electrically driven vibrator, you might borrow one - or get one from a drug house at a small price. The Milk of Bismuth for the indigestion, when necessary, would be taken a teaspoonful at a dose - in which there would be put three to five drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin. See Hair directions in April 1933 Bulletin. [Quoted from 275-31, 10-A--12-A.]
