Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [572]; this we have had before. In some respects conditions are not so good as when we last had same. There have been some indiscretions not only in the diet but in the activities of the body. Fresh cold has made for the exciting more of the mucous membranes in the lung area; and those in the pleura itself cause a tightening, very shortness of breath, the inability to stir without it causing weakness and the return of not only coughing but hard breathing.

2. As we would find, the better would be in the present to have the fumes in the room of boiling equal parts of Oil of Pine with Tincture of Benzoin - equal parts in boiling water, you see. These will make for, in the present, not only healing but for an opening of the air passages and relaxing the walls of the pleura and strengthening the tissues.

3. We would also dissolve five grains of Calcidin in an ounce of distilled water. Keep hot or warm; not boiling, of course, but keep it warm with a cover on same - preferably not a paper cover but something so that the fumes of the iodine remain in. Every twenty minutes or the like, give a sip of this - half to a quarter teaspoonful. We would do this for periods of a day to two days, and then rest or leave off for a day.

4. Be mindful that the diet is of those things that make for body-building; as malted milk with egg and spirits frumenti, or better still use apple brandy with same - not very much, but just what is strengthening. Beef juices. Orange juices, lemon juices, pineapple juice, or the combination of any or all of these. Not greases, but broths of meats, any of these will be well, and especially if there is given the liver extracts or the like. Any that will strengthen.

5. Keep the fumes of those properties in the room for periods of two or three hours, or if it is kept a whole day

or night it is not too much. A spoonful of each of these in a quart of water should last for two to three hours, or in a croup cup or the like, or in a small teakettle or the like; just so the fumes come in the room.

6. Keep out of drafts. Keep the feet warm; basking the foot with mutton tallow, turpentine and camphor would be well. Rub the feet with same and put on a hot water bottle, or better still put them towards heat, see. This will be helpful to the body. It's losing its strength.

7. (Q) What can be done for the cough? (A) As has been indicated.

8. (Q) Why doesn't he improve faster in strength? (A) As indicated, indiscretions not only in the eating but in the mental attitude and exposure somewhat.

9. (Q) What causes him to be smothered? (A) The tightening about the lungs, as indicated. Do these things, as we have indicated here, and we will bring the better physical forces for this body, [572].
