Time of Reading ... Court, 11:20 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Brooklyn, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [577]. [In locating body, EC mentioned a street car stop, and called the address "Place, Center," instead of Court.]
2. Now, as we find, the conditions that have disturbed the body (in bringing these as effects in the system) arise from gland infection and, as we find, make many varied and different reflex activities. At times these have been taken to be the cause of conditions rather than seeking deeper for those things that are the causes.
3. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [577], ... Court (Place or Center), Brooklyn, New York:
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY varies. At times we find the tendency for there to be a lack of coagulations in the blood supply, yet with the next test or reaction there may be a tendency for too heavy a flow and a slowing up in the respiratory activity. These are the causes, you see, and effects are the activities that result in the manner in which acute pains are seen in varied portions of the body; making a dizziness, a heaviness to the activity, insomnia, melancholia, the tendency for the desire to be away from others; while at other times there is the seeking to go places and see things, when such reactions appear to be MENTAL activities. Again we will see these make for the inordinate desire at times in varied activities. Yet these are NOT from MENTAL conditions but PHYSICAL conditions that bear upon the system in such ways and manners as to make for reflex actions on the centers from which there is the contact for the mental and physical reactions.
5. There are then, as we find, in the NERVE SYSTEM subluxations existent in the lower end of the spine, in the coccyx area, where there is a subluxation in the 3rd and the 2nd and the 1st (now we are going backward from the end of the spine, you see), 3rd, 2nd and 1st coccyx segments; they
577-1 Page 2
are not vertebrae but more segments, you see, on the end. This has occurred from a condition that existed some times back in the body, and these reactions to the body bring GLAND troubles. This is rather unusual, but most any condition may arise from injury or swelling or plethora (as more of this is here) than from most any portion of the body, unless in the head or brain itself.
6. As to the activity of the ORGANS themselves:
7. There is no organic disturbance, as we find, other than sympathetically; and we may find at times most any portion of the system may become involved in the condition but in itself soon passing off. As in the soft tissue in the activity of the sensory organism, eye, ear, nose, throat, touch, feeling, sense of odors, all of these become involved. Hence they are the effect of the pressure on the glands. What glands? The effect to this of the pineal, in the brush end, and specifically in the coccyx area, makes for this diffusion of reflexes throughout the whole system, and making to the activities of the imaginative forces the greater reaction.
8. In meeting the needs of the condition, as we find, we may bring about a normal condition and a relief from all these - not hallucinations, not wholly neurotic conditions (as may sometimes be called); for the gland itself is affected, you see.
9. We would then, first, correct osteopathically the segments in the lower end of the spine. This will require from six to eight adjustments and GENERAL manipulations, as would make for the according of the activities through the cerebrospinal and sympathetic system in their axes and centers - especially in these areas, the lower lumbar, the 12th dorsal, the 9th dorsal, the 3rd and 4th dorsal, and the area from the 4th to the 1st cervical, you see; that these may make for the impulses through the nerves' reaction from gland secretions that affect the glands in the organs from which impulses are received from the ganglia along the whole of the cerebrospinal system, through the activities of these portions of the body itself. This should be done by the manipulations and massage, you see, but the corrections made in the coccyx area of this body, [577] we are speaking of.
10. Thus we will find we will bring the better conditions for the body.
11. At least once each week when the osteopathic treatment is given (and there should be given at least two each week, with the manipulations and corrections), use with same in the treatment the plain violet ray.
577-1 Page 3
12. Also we find that the use of the Radio-Active Appliance of evenings as the body rests will make for better coordination in the activities that are to be distributed by the manipulations. Apply this about thirty minutes each day, when the body rests in the afternoon or upon retiring in the evening. Make the connections first to the RIGHT wrist and then to the left ankle. The next day make the connection to the right ankle and to the left wrist; that is, making the connection at the ankle first, you see. In this way we will make the coordinations in a manner that will create an even balance mentally, physically, and give the spiritual reaction the better channel to function through.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Was this condition in the coccyx produced by an injury? (A) By an injury - fell on a dance floor - YEARS ago.
15. (Q) Any advice regarding diet? (A) More alkalin than acid. Other than that, a normal diet.
16. We are through with this reading. Copy to Dr. [...] " " Ass'n file (Letter was enclosed to Dr. Dobbins, who has had experience with following osteopathic treatments as prescribed in readings. Or, if you prefer another osteopath, you can use the same letter with the directions, in case you do not wish to show the whole reading. Also letter was enclosed to Mr. Reilly, of the Reilly Service, who distributes the Radio-Active Appliances. He would show you exactly how it should be applied, in case Mrs. [577] prefers using it at home to going for the treatment each afternoon. The Alkalin Forming diet list was enclosed which may have proven to be of help, as it seems Mrs. [577] should have a diet tending more to the Alkalin than acid. GD.)
