Time of Reading At home in 11:20 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Ala. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [579].

2. Now, as we find, there are conditions - physical that disturb the body, and these are in the eliminations of the system - and in the effects produced upon the physical functioning of organs and their reaction to these conditions. Hence there is something of a complication, as we find.

3. In making administrations for the relief of the body, to make applications only for the conditions that are APPARENT will make only palliatives; yet there may be included with same the corrections - or additions and subtractions to the general physical forces disturbed - such as to bring the more helpful conditions for the body and the more lasting effects.

4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [579] we are speaking of, at home in ..., Alabama:

5. We find the BLOOD SUPPLY very heavy and charged, as it were, with toxic forces both as related to the upper and lower hepatic circulation. This toxemia has its effect upon the system in producing in the locomotary centers and in the extremities of the body not only excruciating pain at times but contraction in the muscular forces even; causing bad taste in the mouth, the color that is indicated, the hot and cold flushes, the inability of assimilations in portions of the system, the swelling at times in extremity and especially in the trunk portion in the abdominal area.

6. The NERVE SYSTEM is very good, considering the general reactions in the body. To be sure, the contraction in the muscular forces and in the activities of the body is produced from pressures; not only in the areas of the right portion of the body but from the toxic forces in other portions as they extend throughout the system.

7. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves: In the sensory reactions - that is, the eyes, ears, nose, throat,

579-1 Page 2

feeling, smell, speech and those reactions that disturb - all of these are purely REFLEX conditions. Then, to be sure, the age and those activities that have ensued in the body and its reaction to the poisons that have accumulated have their effect, and have produced definite reactions; for the body has, as it were, assumed these disorders and attempted to adjust itself, thus cutting off some of the reaction in these portions of the body.

8. As to the throat, bronchi and lungs, in the secondary forces of the throat and bronchi - especially through the voice box - we find a contraction produced by engorgement, produced by poisons' reaction in the upper portion or the cardiac and secondary cardiac plexus of the stomach itself, producing in the larynx and the upper portion of the throat a swelling there. This is a reflex condition, yet in many respects has the appearance of causes; yet these have segregated themselves to a great extent and thus have set up inflammations of their own.

9. The heart's action is disturbed, for the katabolism of the system is disturbed through the disturbances in the liver and in the kidneys or through the hepatic circulation; though there is no ORGANIC disorder.

10. The digestive system shows reactions of a regurgitation, and is in more of an acid than an alkalin reaction.

11. As we find, the main disturbances have arisen from the activities in the liver and the inactivity of the gall ducts; and these secretions and the activities there have tended to form gallstones in the gall bladder, yet this is an EFFECT rather than the greater specific cause - but makes for the conditions in the regurgitation and the activity of the liver and spleen as related to the excretory forces and secretive forces of the body.

12. In the ascending and transverse colon do we find the seat or the basis of the conditions that make this pressure or engorgement in the bladder, causing irritations in the bladder and the slow activity and low hepatic circulation - especially through the kidneys themselves. These make for the infection or reaction in the kidneys, of the swelling in the extremities, and the neuritis that occurs in the extremities of the body - as well as those conditions in the greater portion of the system's activity.

13. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions as we find them for this body, [579] we are speaking of:

14. First, we would begin with the use of Castor Oil packs over the liver area, extending same down to the caecum area - or the whole right side, from the lower portion of the rib area to the upper portion of the hip. We would apply these

579-1 Page 3

for at least one whole day, or for eight to twelve hours, you see; dipping a threefold or three-ply of flannel in hot Castor Oil and applying as warm as the body can bear, wringing out the cloths and applying directly to the body itself every twenty to thirty minutes, for eight to twelve hours, you see.

15. Then we would take a high enema, using a colon tube; and in at least a gallon to two gallons of tepid water use a level tablespoonful of common salt (well dissolved, of course) and a HEAPING tablespoonful of baking soda. After the evacuation, in the rinse water, to a quart and a half of the water add a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline as an intestinal antiseptic. Of course, the first enema may not be very high - not passing farther than the half portion of the transverse colon; but gradually the tube may be injected farther.

16. Then let the body rest, only taking the Everlasting Tea or the Yellow Saffron and those activities that come from the use of FRESH elm bark; that is, put a pinch of the ground elm in each glass of cool water; only prepare it a few minutes before it is to be taken. Drink all the water the body can each day.

17. Let the diets be preferably of the citrus fruit juices; such as oranges, lemons or grapefruit. Take these preferably to other food values; though once or twice each day there may be given junket or blancmange or such an activity. These will only tend to make for easy digestion. Coffee or tea may be taken in moderation, but coffee without milk or cream and tea preferably with lemon instead of cream, as a stimulant.

18. After the second day, begin with the Epsom Salts packs across the abdomen, extending down the LEFT side of the body, over the colon area. Dip heavy crash towels in Epsom Salts saturated solution (as much Salts dissolved in the water as possible) and apply as hot as the body can bear.

19. Across the spine, especially in the lumbar and brachial area (lower part of back and between shoulders) but the whole of the spine, massage the body with equal parts of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh; heating the Oil to add the Myrrh. This should be done each evening before the body is ready to rest.

20. And we will find we will bring much nearer normal conditions for this body.

21. After the periods of the Epsom Salts packs over the transverse and descending colon for a day, take small quantities of Olive Oil internally; not over a quarter teaspoonful to half a teaspoonful every two hours - until

579-1 Page 4

there is the full elimination from these activities.

22. Following same it would be well to take another high enema, which would be on the fourth or fifth day. This may be extended very much higher (the colon tube), using the same properties as we have outlined.

23. And we will have the body in a much easier condition, with the abilities to move about very much improved.

24. Ready for questions.

25. (Q) For how long a period should these treatments be kept up? (A) Two to three periods or rounds; that is, the Castor Oil with the Epsom Salts, and allowing at least two to three days between each period of treatments. After these have been given for the second or third round, then the diet may be altered to soups, fruit juices, vegetable juices, but not a great quantity of solid foods for at least ten days, you see; that is, there may be gradually added buttermilk, or milk to which there is added the Bulgarian tablets; then gradually chicken broths or the like. Do these and we will bring the better conditions for this body.

26. We are through for the present. Copy to Son [3983] " " Ass'n file
