Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will have before you the entity, [585], present in this room, who seeks a mental and spiritual reading, with information, advice and guidance as to God's purpose for her at this time. She approaches the throne of grace with this prayer: "Here am I, O Lord. Use me in the way and manner thou seest I am best fitted for." Shall I leave town with my patient or stay in Norfolk? If I can be of greater service by staying, what work must I undertake? You will answer the questions that may be asked.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [585].

3. In giving advice or counsel, with the attitude as indicated, little may be added for such an one; save the admonition to keep attuned to those convictions, those ideals that have been set in Him, who is the way, the truth and the light.

4. In the choosing of ways and means and manners of carrying out such in the experience, if there is the whole trust in Him rather should the entity be guided BY that inmost purpose.

5. For, when there are those choosings that there is consideration given to self, or to circumstance of any material nature, these become as self-centered directions and NOT "Here am I, use me."

6. But keeping that attitude as pronounced, let thy yeas be yea, thy nays be nay. Follow closely in those purposes that arise in thy daily meditations. For, in judgements of self, that as He has given should ever be that pattern, that measurement by which judgements of self, of others, of conditions, of circumstance is to be drawn: "If ye love me ye will keep my commandments. My commandments are not grievous, but that ye love one another, even as I have loved you." And He thought it not robbery to make self equal with the Father.

7. Thus as ye approach the throne of mercy, of grace, seeking guidance, seeking direction in the choices of

activity or purpose day by day, know - as He hath promised - if ye will keep His ways, His promise is to abide with thee always, to direct thee ever, to keep thy faith, thy hand safe in the way and in directing that as may bring the greater blessing, the greater joy in thine own experience.

8. As we find, it would be most advisable to stay with the patient. And in that attitude and in that manner as He hath given, "I will go with thee all the way."

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) Should I register with the Red Cross? (A) If that is desirable for self, very well. All of such activities should be choices made in self, AFTER deep thought, deep meditation; seeking, asking for guidance. For, the answer must ever be within SELF as to the direction ye SHOULD choose, rather than ever being swayed by other influences. For, as He hath given, His way is not past finding out. Search, seek - and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto thee. For He hath promised, "Where thou needest, I AM - I AM!" And oft may there be that direction, "It is I, fear not - be not afraid."

11. (Q) What should be my attitude and activity, as a member of the Ass'n, in regard to the war scare and probably evacuation of Norfolk? (A) Here, too, direction should be from day to day, rather than that of other than the ideal being set before thee. For, if there is the belief, if there is the faith - as has been given - "the FATHER knoweth what ye have need of, day by day." And thus may ye be directed - if ye approach Him in that manner as indicated.

12. (Q) I am considering sending [308] next year to Madison College in Harrisonburg, Va., to take up a pre-nursing course. Would this be in keeping with the preparation needed for her life work in the government and diplomatic service? [See daughter's rdg. 308-9, Par. 15-A, on 6/18/42.] (A) This should be correlated with the directions that have been given, and if there is the answer in self that this is in keeping with those counsels needed for the preparation, do so.

13. (Q) Please explain the significance of the flame colored light that [308] and I saw last Wednesday as we were watching the sky. (A) In the experience of those who have put their trust in Him, there has ever been those significant indications of an answer that he is mindful. Then, as was indicated, let it be an assurance that He knows, He understands, He hears, He IS aware.

14. (Q) Considering my physical condition, have I had sufficient osteopathic treatments? (A) For the moment, yes. As to whether activities or circumstances will alter this in the daily activities may not be given here. But be mindful of the assurances, of the warnings, of the general expressions as to manner of conduct in relation to such; and act in that way and direction. And if others be needed, have same. Keep thy heart, thy mind, thy purposes, attuned to that voice within; knowing that thy body is indeed the temple of the living God. There is thy altar. There He has promised to meet thee. Be mindful of the service, of the assurance, of the manner of offering ye make there to Him. That is how and why, as He has given, "As the man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Not that thinking takes place in the heart. For thinking is of the mind. Yet the flow, the impulse, the emotions in material things are activative through impulse of nature, of character of purpose, of will. Then, as the heart is the seat of life, it is an expression then of a mystical nature, yet very much in the way of the perfect understanding - if it is interpreted aright and not attempted to be seen JUST literal, but physical, mental and spiritual. For as the body is that temple, as it is the earthly shadow of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, so are the ideals, the purposes, the activities in thy daily expression, that indicating what takes place in the heart of an entity. Study then to show thyself approved unto God, in Jesus the Christ; rightly stressing each phase of thy life; not to that only of spirit, nor of mind, nor of matter, but each consistent with the other, that ye present thy body holy and acceptable as a gift unto Him, who hath NEED of love, even as thou hast need of love and care.
