At the [489] Time of Reading home, ..., 10:30 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. L.I., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, here, [587], at the [489] home.
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbances in the physical functioning of this body, [587]; yet if these were corrected in the present the inclinations that become apparent would be removed from the system and prevent much greater distress that would arise without the correction - that is, if conditions were allowed to continue because they do not cause at all times great distress. For, if segregations should begin and the poisons be allowed to accumulate by the use of palliative measures or applications for effects rather than the removal of causes that are hidden somewhat in the present, the after effects would not be so good. But with the correction now we may find a great deal more comfort and a much better physical body for the mental and spiritual to manifest through.
3. These, then, are the physical conditions as we find them with this body, [587] we are speaking of:
4. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY, we find there are indications of toxic forces affecting the system. These are indicated through the pressure that is produced in the respiratory system, the character of the pulsations of the body (for in the present it is eighty-two and should be nearer seventy-two), and the manner in which these toxic forces effect the organs of the body; which, with the general changes that are being affected in the body, make for a nervous tension and periods when the body so easily tires from exertion whether physical or mental - and periods when there are restless nights, and other periods when there is not the feeling of being wholly recuperated from an evening or night of rest.
5. These, to be sure, are effects of disturbing influences. To use stimulants only to give, as it were, "pep" or tone to
587-1 Page 2
the system - either to the nervous system or to be continually using laxatives that will affect the activity of the alimentary canal in such a way as to, for the time being, eliminate the poisons from the system - is only to give palliatives, allowing the causes of the distresses to continue to affect the organs so that the blood supply becomes more and more involved. And without the fresh, full recuperative blood stream there CANNOT be perfect functioning or organs; nor the reaction between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic or mental responses of the body physically and mentally be up to normal or par.
6. As to the effect this creates, we find the lower hepatic circulation being involved - as indicated by the tendencies of fullness about the eyes at times, that strained condition as related to the activity of the kidneys and the liver in its torpidity.
7. As naturally the results in the NERVE supply and in the NERVOUS SYSTEM are to produce periods when there is the effect of a nervous digestion. Foods at times FILL the stomach when there has been only a little taken; forming gases and the constipation after same, rather in the form of a nervous indigestion, with a tendency for the engorging of the colon, especially in the turn at the transverse and ascending colon.
8. Hence there have been periods when there has been the uneasiness and the heaviness in the caecum and the right side of the body; in the torso portions; heaviness in the extremities, feet and limbs, and the tiredness that comes from same.
9. In this nerve reflex we find that ganglia along the cerebrospinal system have become involved. Not so much as to say these are lesions, but more as the bursae and the coverings of the ganglia themselves have become inflamed. Not inflamed as to where there is soreness, except at the periods when there is heaviness across the lower dorsal area, or just at the small of the back; those periods when lower we have - in the lumbar and sacral - rather the inclination for the fullness, as the dilation in the right portion at times.
10. These produce reflexes in the sympathetics to the head, throat and neck, a poor activity through the glands of the throat or thyroid to the soft tissue in the face at times, and the involving of the auditory forces as well as the sense of smell. These are inclinations and, as is seen, the EFFECTS are being treated - or applications made for same - such that the requirements necessary to make for normalcy in the body are not met.

11. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves (It's pretty hair!):
12. Brain forces are very good.
13. The activity to the sensory forces, or to the eye, ear, nose, throat, sense of smell, the sense of touch - all these become exaggerated at times, and at others are subnormal.
14. The lungs and the heart's action only at periods when, as has been indicated by the character Of the pulsation in the body, do these become involved in the very nature of the conditions themselves.
15. As we find, then, the seat of the trouble is in the ducts and the glands of the digestive system; or the activity in the glands makes for the torpidity in the liver, the torpidity in the liver making for a cold circulation, or the low hepatic circulation involves or throws off or causes toxic forces to be accumulated through an overactivity or an underactivity (for both occur) in the kidneys themselves.
16. Strain on the organs of the kidneys, the bladder and the like, produces some irritation at times. This makes for the heaviness in the lower portion of the lumbar area, and a condition in the lacteal ducts - where they are at times as if seared, which is poor lymph circulation; and hence the peristaltic movement of the whole intestinal system becomes involved.
17. In meeting the needs of the conditions of this body, as we find:
18. We would first take the deep manipulations osteopathically given, for about six to ten treatments. However, these would be dispersed over a period of four to six weeks; a GENERAL massage over the whole system, about one each week.
19. Each day when the bath is taken, there should be the thorough massage with COLD water along the spine, with a BRISK rubdown following same, to stimulate all the centers along the cerebrospinal system such as to make for activities in the bursae or in the ganglia themselves and overcome the tendency for accumulation of nerve tension in the system.
20. Following same we would massage along the spine, from the base of brain to the end of spine, with equal parts of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh; just what the body would absorb, preparing just sufficient each time, about a tablespoonful of each; heating the oil and adding the myrrh. This would be done each day following the cold rubdown.
21. We would take at least for three days, after each meal, a quarter teaspoonful of AL-CAROID; about thirty minutes after each meal for three days. Then leave off for three
587-1 Page 4
days. Then repeat again for three days. Do this until there has been the reduction of the FULLNESS that is felt in the stomach after meals, and the eliminations have been increased.
22. After the second round of taking the AL-CAROID, it would be well that the high enemas be used for one or two periods to cleanse the whole of the colon and to reduce the tendency for lack of activity throughout the alimentary canal. The high enemas; not just to EMPTY the lower portion of the colon, but the high enemas when necessary to reduce the poisons in the system.
23. Be mindful that the diet is kept more alkalin than acid; that is, a reduction in the quantity of red meats and carbohydrates. This, as you see, will tend to reduce the acidity; and with the AL-CAROID will make for more of the lacteal activity in the digestive system.
24. This, as we find, consistently kept, should overcome these tendencies and so set up drainages in the system as to prevent accumulations, removing the pressures in the sensory system and bringing general aid and help to this body, [587].
