Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [610], present in this room, in regard to the problems in her life at the present time, and her desire to communicate with her husband, [...], who passed from this earth plane on March 27, 1933. If possible, we seek to make this contact. You will give any advice and guidance that will be helpful to her, answering the questions that may be asked.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [610], present in this room, with the problems and the conditions that confront and disturb this body at this time.
3. While it is possible for the body, to receive communication from [...], this should be rather through self than ANY other channel. While he, [...], is present with the body, [610], now, for the communications that he would give it is best that these be their very own; for these are rather as they have been during the experience of their sojourn in the earth. To use this channel here would be to lessen the abilities in many directions. There may be received much respecting that which may be given from the universal sources, rather than individual. For, each soul should know, because the body has laid aside the shell, because the soul has been released from those bonds, those taxations of the material things, this has not changed the problems of any soul. They are - as knowledge, as truth, as understanding - a GROWTH in those things that have and do become problems for the mental body of any entity.
4. In this, then, if the body seeks for those things that may be given from that source, well. If it seeks the individual, then we would advise choosing other channels.
5. GC: We seek through the universal forces for further information.
6. EC: That the problems in the experience of the body, [610], in the present that which makes for worries, is rather of the MENTAL than of the physical or material
610-1 Page 2
things; yet, as is seen and experienced by all, the MENTAL or mind is ever the builder, and the physical results are the activities of the individual - or individuals - as related to the expressions of themselves and their own personality in a material world. The individuality of each soul is set aside in such a way that only in emergencies do others oft see that expression of same in material things.
7. Then, if the body will look into those experiences it will be seen that these are the conditions that exist with the varied problems in her own experience, and that by precept alone these may not be altered to any great extent. Yet these may be met if there is the activity of that which has been so often pointed out, and at one period in the experience of the body was almost grasped in its entirety; to meet the disturbing factors with as much joyousness as if they were bringing pleasure in the material sight, will alter - as it did - much in the heart and mind of the seeker. For that which is is a result of the thinking of individuals as related one to another. What an individual then does in its own self and ITS relationships is to make first itself in accord, in attune, with that which may be the ideal. Not idealistic, not merely spiritualistic, not merely as a set rule; for Life itself is that which each soul worships as its God. For God IS a LIVING expression to each and every soul, every entity, and in its various expressions does the soul accord itself with that, knowing that in SELF may be accorded that which is the necessary force for the maintaining of an equilibrium in its relationships to that which is Life, or God, or Ideal. And this in the living, in the speaking, in the meeting those conditions in the experience of others will only enable THEM also to meet their problems with a much nearer accord to the IDEAL life, IDEAL experience.
8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) Please guide me in my problem with my son, [S...] and his wife [H...]. (A) That their lives in the expression at present are not compatible with thine own or with one another is evidenced in the activities of each in their relationships one to another, and in their activity and relationships with self. As to meeting them, know - just as has been given - there is an ideal. Not that THOU would become a preacher or an exhorter, or that thou would find fault with that they do. Has God found fault with thee? Hast thou spoken with Him concerning the activities of their lives? He is very near unto thee. He is the Giver of all good and perfect gifts.
610-1 Page 3
In speaking with each, ASK each for just a moment with thee in presenting their problems to their God and to thy God. Here all meet on one common basis, for they each recognize in themselves - whether or not they defy their own lives, their own associations - that all must pass under the rod of experience in Him; and here they will each find much not to be antagonistic about but more in common. For their love - that give expression in that association which has drawn them together - is not altogether of earth earthy. Yet, if this fails, know that He - with that seeking - will point out the way, not only to each of them but to you.
10. (Q) What can I do to adjust myself to that situation? (A) This, with each, will aid self in adjusting self. Not that any soul that seeks for the revelation from the Spirit-God into their own lives would become long-faced nor one that mopes or gropes about; for who should be the happiest people in the earth? They that walk and talk with Life day by day! What is Life? God in expression in the earth! For that which has been termed death of the body is but the releasing of the soul, the image of the God in every entity, to find expression and to come closer to that which is Life. So, in preparing self to meet the situations, to counsel with each, draw near to them and they will draw nearer to thee. Draw nearer to the life in thy Maker and He will draw nigh to thee. What has been the promise? "If ye will be my people, I will be your God." What is the first promise in all? "Honor thy Father, thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." Honor, then, thy Father-God. For, if ye would have God to be nigh unto thee, draw THOU nigh unto Him. Be a savior, a god, to thy fellow man. What may thou do in the earth? What is the standard the Father has set? "Love the Lord, thy God, with all thine heart, thine soul, and thine body, and thy neighbor as thyself." This is the whole law and gospel; there is no other. "Inasmuch as ye do it unto the least of my brethren, of my children, ye do it unto me." This alone, this purpose, this desire, in the heart of any soul, ONLY may bring peace when others falter, bring harmony when others become panicky, bring joy when others are afraid. For, "As ye do it unto others, so ye do it unto me." As He has given, first find thine self in this relationship to thy Maker. Then ye may meet with each of these, thy problems; and THEIR problems will become not only thy problems in a material way but ye all may lay them at the foot of the
610-1 Page 4
Throne of Grace. For His mercies are sufficient unto those that will put their trust in Him. THIS approach, and ye will know Him. Has the Father changed? Has the promise faltered? For He has promised to meet ALL after the pattern in the mount. What is this? That thou knowest well; for it was given that ye "Draw nigh unto me," and that the thoughts in the mind - as the desires in the heart - be spiritualized in thine purpose towards thy GOD, towards thy God in thy fellow man. For no man may hurt thee, wilt thou but know thy soul is of God. For what may be done to the body passeth away, but that which is a mark upon the soul endureth. Then, what art thou doing with THY soul as toward thy Maker?
11. (Q) Just what should be my attitude? (A) That as thou wouldst have them have toward thee if the conditions and the positions were reversed. Put thyself in the place of each. What would thou have them do to thee? That should be THY attitude toward them. But in the light that each soul is the image of thy God; for the SOUL was made in the image, NOT the physical body.
12. (Q) What can I do to get some happiness in the world? (A) Would thou be happy? Then make someone else happy! Would thou be that thou would seek? THAT ye find! Knock and it shall be opened. Cry aloud and all stand in awe; but the still small voice from within brings joy and peace - as ye do it unto others.
13. (Q) Please advise me and give me such guidance necessary to protect my present investments, and warnings to prevent possible errors in the future. (A) Again would we give the greater basis that that which may be given as warning that this will rise and that will fall. God ever gives the increase. For, when the purposes in life - and the desires of the heart and the mind, soul and body - are made in accord, "all these things shall be added unto you." What was the variation in that Abraham gave from the rest of the world? That the Lord thy God is One? The Lord thy God is ONE in thee! Thy mind, thy soul, thy body being one in purpose, in aim, in desire, He will lead thee in the ways that He will open - even the oneness of heaven, to pour into thine understanding that which will bring the greatest development of thy soul. Put not thy trust in things that are of the earth earthy, but rather in the promises that are sure, that He gives that necessary day by day; and as to whether ye shall sell or invest, whether ye shall trade or whether ye shall gather more and more, this will be shown thee - for thou art sensitive in thine self! Ye have received them rather as hunches, but "Inasmuch
610-1 Page 5
as ye do it unto the least, ye do it unto me." And He will show thee the way.
14. (Q) What is the future for the Sarnoff-Irving business [Sarnoff-Irving, Inc., real estate?], one of my investments? (A) As we find, there are some individuals in the inner circle of this association that are becoming somewhat panicky in themselves. Stabilize them by thine stabilizing of thine own self, in thine counsel; for these will make for greater expansions and greater activity in all the lines of same, if the word from self will aid them who have - just faltered.
15. (Q) In what way can I, through advice or guidance to the firm, aid in improving or increasing the business? (A) Just as given. Give them encouragement. They need it, as thou dost. For oft when there have been those hardships in their own experiences, in meeting this, that or the other in the various associations and connections necessary one with another, a cheery word here and there will work wonders - and if this is given each day (Here's a test for thee!) - Give this each day for fifteen days even, and watch a twenty percent change - in fifteen days - INCREASE!
