Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:55 P. M. Eastern Daylight Savings Time. N.Y.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [611], present in this room.
2. Now, as we find, there are conditions of which the body should take warning. While these DISTURB the better physical functioning somewhat at the present time, the inclinations and the disturbances unless corrected will make for harder or greater disturbances later on. And these in the present may be easily corrected, thus bringing to the body the better physical force through which the mental and spiritual body may function.
3. These conditions, as we find, are the effect of scar tissue; or the adhesions in tissue in portions of the system that have lacked the proper amount of the nutriment necessary for normal functioning; affecting then the glands and locomotion and the centers from which much of this impulse in portions of the body receives its activity from the nerve and blood supply.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [611], we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY, there are indications in the metabolism of the system that the glands in a portion of the body are being disturbed by the activity of too full a flow and a lack of elements in the plasm of the hemoglobin of the blood itself. This is indicated in the character of the pulsation. While the pressure is near normal in the present, at other times we find there are periods when there is a suppression and at others an overexertion; causing tiredness in the whole system at times. The body may start out with the activities that make for exuberance or joyousness in the anticipations of that to be experienced, yet before the whole period has elapsed it has changed and is as "flat" to the body; and it is rather with exertion
611-1 Page 2
that the rest of activities may be carried on.
6. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM of the body we find, as from that indicated, there are plasms or plexus or ganglia that are under suppression. Hence the impingements or subluxations that exist in a portion of the cerebrospinal system show that there is not the proper coordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal. The greater portion of this is existent in the 4th lumbar plexus, where those reactions to the ganglia in this center receive the lack of activity from the pelvic actions, where those suppressions in the system from those cohesions and adhesions have made for this tendency of lack of the proper flow of impulse for circulation through the portion of the body. And it would be found by the hand being placed on the abdomen that there is a cold spot just beyond the umbilicii plexus and the left hip. This is the center from which the nerve reaction has made and does make for the indications of that which disturbs the body, producing those conditions in the lumbar area where the activities of the kidneys are disturbed, where the locomotions to the lower limbs are at times making for strains in the ends of the nerves in the sinew of the lower limbs, the feet at times giving distress as to the manner of activity when the whole system does not respond to the flow of the circulation to this portion of the body.
7. These, as we see, are effects; not causes - the effects in the body of specific disturbances that are minor in their nature in the present but allowed to remain must cause and produce in the activity of organs themselves disturbances such as to make for those conditions that would be harder to eradicate from the body, and thus causing greater distresses.
8. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves:
9. Brain forces and their impulses are very good. As indicated from the incoordination in certain areas of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal, the body at times has the experience of being unable to recall as quickly certain experiences as may be desired; an activity that is of a sympathetic nature.
10. In the functioning of the organs of the sensory system we find, as in eyes, ears, nose, throat, feelings, throughout the system, these at times are accentuated by the unbalancing of the circulation as to the impulses to the sympathetic forces of the body itself; and the vision, the hearing, all are accentuated at periods; not always, but at periods.
11. Throat, bronchi, lungs, larynx, here we find very good reaction throughout; yet at times, from the natural
611-1 Page 3
disturbances, we find there are reflex conditions causing some disorder.
12. Heart's action, as indicated from the manner of the distress to the metabolism of the system, is near normal at present in its activity; changes at others, though not an abnormal nor an organic disturbance, but sympathetic only.
13. In the digestive system, here we find at periods there are those reflexes when we have a nervous disturbance in the digestive activity of the body; for with the very nature of those disturbances in the lumbar area, this is a sympathetic condition, and the body finds that though it may feel desirous of food only a very little will at times suffice. At others there is the inordinate appetite for certain characters, or those things that appeal from the activity of the sensory system - from the vision or odor of same; while at other periods certain things become repulsive through the very same activity. Hence these are only indications of that being described or given here.
14. The gastric juices of the digestive system flow back or regurgitate in the duodenum at times. This is from the nature of the pressure in the 4th lumbar area, and in the pelvic or upper pelvic area of the adhesions that have been indicated.
15. The liver, spleen, pancreas, all show the tendency of the glands in the lacteals to be disturbed in their activity, producing an inordinate activity through the eliminations in the alimentary canal at times. As the body has those effects of too much of a blood flow at times, the activities through this portion of the system sometimes cause disorders.
16. In the activity of those things then that disturb the body, as we have indicated that disturb the lower portion of the hepatic circulation or the glands above the kidneys themselves, that leave or have those pressures from the ganglia area, here we find the seat or causes - in those plexus and areas in the 4th lumbar area.
17. Then, as we find, these would bring about those activities that would make for correcting the conditions in this body, [611].
18. First we would begin by the application of those forces in the diathermy, that would produce for the body the opening of the flow of effluvia - or of the blood supply and the lymph circulation - through those portions above the liver area and the kidneys and lumbar plexus. This we would take for ten to fifteen minutes about three times each week.
19. FOLLOWING such treatments we would have first CORRECTIVE measures in the lumbar and the lower dorsal area, also
611-1 Page 4
COORDINATING the corrections or manipulations throughout the upper dorsal and cervical area.
20. Take internally about twice each week, twice each day on those days taken, three to five drops of Atomidine in a glass of water.
21. These, as we find, taken consistently, persistently, all of these suggested forces for the body as given, will bring the corrections for this body.
22. In the diet we would be mindful there is not too much of those things that tend to make for acidity in the system, or those things of the starch and hydrochlorics that COMBINE to produce the alcohol reaction in digestion that forms fermentations in the body. Hence there would not be too much sweets nor too much starches.
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) Should the corrections be given along with the diathermy treatments, or after the diathermy treatments have been taken? (A) As indicated, the days that the diathermy treatment is taken - AFTER the diathermy treatment there would be taken the corrections and manipulations, osteopathically.
25. (Q) What physician would be recommended to give these treatments? (A) Dobbins.
26. (Q) What effect did osteopathic treatments some years ago have upon the present condition, if any? (A) The applications of osteopathy, as well as of other modes, must be made for that which is disturbing in the body. Most of these made at that time were from the 4th dorsal to the upper cervicals of the body, and thus had nothing to do with the condition that disturbs, except to increase nausea in the lower portion of the circulation in the hepatics.
27. (Q) Do my physicians thoroughly understand my condition? (A) Partially, only.
28. (Q) Was my operation necessary? (A) This is rather an unfair question, for we would have to retrace much of that which has been produced in the body. The effects of this, as indicated from that given, cause much of the disturbance in the present, and could have been eliminated without the operation - as we find. Yet the operation AT THE TIME aided. The after effects not so well. But if these treatments will be applied as given, the conditions will be met and overcome. The diathermy is for the activity of the lymph and emunctory circulation, especially in the areas indicated.
611-1 Page 5
The manipulations and corrections are to set up drainages in the body such as to eliminate, and cause the flow of the creative forces in the blood supply to resuscitate those portions where adhesions and lesions do cause the pressures. And the activities of those properties in the system are as elements to cause the activity of glands to function in a normal manner, thus producing the greater benefits for this body, [611]. Do these.
29. (Q) Any specific directions regarding the application of the diathermy treatment? (A) As indicated for those specific areas, you see, that the FLOW through those ganglia and those areas above the kidneys - that connect with the hepatic circulation - may be cleansed.
30. (Q) Would Dobbins be able to give all this treatment? (A) Or arrange for same. Dobbins will be able to give the treatments, or arrange for same.
31. (Q) What is causing the constant pain in my left side? (A) This is just where the area was indicated where you will find that it will be cold! This is from the adhesion there. Lack of flow of the blood supply through the area indicated. Just as it would be if there were pain from any portion of the circulation being corded.
32. (Q) What is causing the numbness and stiff sensation in a part of my body? (A) Through the same lack of flow of nerve impulse and blood circulation. Do these things as we have outlined, and we will make the corrections for those disturbing forces; for, as we have given, the specific condition exists in the 4th LUMBAR area, and those ganglia in this portion of the body. The rest are SYMPATHETIC conditions. For, with tissue - where this has adhered and thickened, unless removed, will cause distress later and produce organic disturbance.
33. (Q) Is there a pressure at present on my spine? (A) Pressure in the ganglia area, as indicated.
34. (Q) Has my dropped stomach any relation to the nervous disorder? (A) This is sympathetic to the condition, to be sure, but with these applications we will find this will be corrected too, to the extent where it will not be necessary even to wear the support or those things that tend to make for the proper position of same. Well, during the periods of correction, that the support be worn - see?
611-1 Page 6
35. (Q) Have my weak arches any relation to the nerve disorder? (A) They are the RESULT of those conditions in the lumbar area. Do these, and overcome this condition!
36. (Q) Will I receive any benefit from the inoculations? (A) These are more harmful than a benefit.
