Time of Reading 12:40 to 1:05 P. M. Eastern Daylight Savings Time. N.Y.C. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [613], present in this room.

2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body. These have to do with the digestive forces of the body, and the effects that have been produced by the disturbances in the system. However, there are - as we find - specific conditions that are the basis for these disturbances that have affected, do affect, the nervous system of the body; and the results have been the more often treated - or the administrations have been for effects rather than causes in this body, [613] we are speaking of.

3. In the BLOOD SUPPLY we find the effects of an overacidity in the system, this affecting the hepatic circulation, producing at times poisons in the system that are not only toxic but at times have been uremic in their nature; hence, with the pressure that is produced, disturbing the metabolism as well as the katabolism of the system. These effects are indicated in many varied ways in the system. The loss of vitality; tendency for headaches; burning eyes; heaviness in the feet and lower portions of the body; with the shortness of breath even with a great deal of exertion, this being affected through the respiratory system and to the pulsations, naturally, of the body itself.

4. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM, or systems, as we find, has been the basis or cause of the disorders in the body, though the results that have been produced by the disorders have the more often been attributed as the cause of the disturbance. But in some period there has been a subluxation in the 7th and 8th dorsal area, that first made for the inefficiency of the system to supply the proper amount of nerve energy for the digestive forces of the body; thus not only producing the disturbance to the cardiac portion - from the very

613-1 Page 2

nature or position - but the pyloric portion also. Hence we have had the acidity through nerve strain, using up of the vitality, that is tended to make for a contributory cause to the condition. With the overacidity and regurgitation of the hydrochloric acid in the duodenum and those portions of the pylorus, we have lacerations; not ulcerations, neither the thickening of the tissue as yet, but unless there are changes in the condition these must eventually form either scar tissue or thickened tissue that may at any time - with the overtaxation and not being corrected in the impulses for blood supply and the activity of the lymph to the body - form ulcerations that would be the more severe to the body. These DO NOT exist in the present, but LACERATIONS have existed. These are better than they have been in some time past.

5. The effect of this nerve plexus, that shows the subluxation in the area which produces the pressure upon the ganglia in the portions indicated, is that there is produced the tendency for the acidity to be increased, making for hardships upon the activity of the pancreas, the spleen, the activity of the gall duct or bile duct. Hence constipation has been a former activity that aided in keeping the drosses in system. As seen, these are effects; not causes but effects, but ARE the cause of that which has become the disturbing force in the condition of this body, [613], we are speaking of.

6. As to the ORGANS of the body themselves:

7. Brain forces are very good. Discernments and discriminations are good. There has been the tendency of the body-mind at times to be rather of the too conservative nature; but this is rather a virtue than a fault.

8. In the sensory system we find that for some periods there has been a pressure; not a whole subluxation, rather a pressure or a lesion, in the 3rd and 4th cervical and the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, where the disturbing forces to the sensory organisms have made for impairment at times in the organs of the senses; as the taste at times, the ability in the discernment of colors, the hearing, the speech, the eyesight having at times disturbing conditions. And with the removal of those things in the 8th dorsal, 7th and 8th dorsal plexus area, and corrections or alignments in the upper cervical and upper dorsal, we will find there will be a material aid in the activity of the whole sensory system.

9. Lungs, bronchi, larynx, considering the disturbance that has existed in the circulation, these are very good.

10. Heart's action; not of any organic nature, rather the sympathetic disturbances.

613-1 Page 3

11. Digestive system, as indicated, shows those disturbances that have existed, do exist, from both the subluxations in the system in the area indicated and from the effect produced upon the organs of blood producing. The assimilating system, the pancreas, the spleen, the liver, especially in the area of the lacteal ducts, these all show the AFFECTS - and have at times appeared to be ORGANICALLY involved; but this is rather the localization of the effects of those disturbances as we have given.

12. With the effect upon the upper portion of hepatic circulation, or in the activities of the lacteal ducts, the liver itself and the liver ducts, there has been produced the disturbing forces for the activity of the kidneys and the activity of the bladder, but are reflex and not organic in their nature.

13. Then, in meeting the conditions and the needs of same, as we find them, and in making those applications that would make not only for the correction but enable the body-physical to resuscitate from the disturbing forces that have been produced, we would advise as follows:

14. First, there must be those precautions - that have been outlined, and that may be given in somewhat a different form here - for the diets of the body. These are precautions, as well as the ability to add through the diet that which will make for the efficiency of that assimilated to create in the system the necessary forces for not only resuscitation but for the storing of the vitality to make a much more active force in the mental and physical activities of the body, [613]. This, then, would be an outline:

15. Mornings - preferably the grapefruit juices; this preferable to the orange, though lemons may at times be added to same; with coddled egg, but using no white - only the yolk being taken. Rice cakes or brown bread or the like, with either a cereal drink or a dried or hydrated milk. These would be the preferable. Changes may be made as to the fruits or cereals, but do not use these during the same meal; that is, do not use citrus fruit juices AND cereals at the same meal. Or stewed fruits may be used at times.

16. Noons - preferably whole vegetable juices, or the green or fresh vegetables all RAW. These are preferable, though the fruit juices and the vegetable juices may be taken at other periods if so desired.

17. Evenings - a vegetable diet; preferably two or three ABOVE the ground to one under the ground. Not a great quantity of sweets, nor starches, nor hydrochlorics; but there must be kept a balance in all these to supply

613-1 Page 4

sufficient of the energies of the carbons, of the hydrates, of all the necessary forces in protein matter or the calories necessary for the energies that are used up by the activities of the body physically and mentally.

18. We would find it also very helpful to use after each meal a small quantity - teaspoonful - of Milk of Magnesia and Milk of Bismuth, alternately, you see; and in the Milk of Bismuth add three to five minims of Lactated Pepsin.

19. Keep those activities in the physical in a general manner.

20. Have the corrections made in the cerebrospinal system, specifically in the 8th and 7th dorsal, coordinating the upper dorsal and cervical area with the corrections that are made. These we would do osteopathically, for they make for - with that manipulation - the coordinating of the organic activity with the rest of the system.

21. In sixty days we would through these channels give the change as to the activities, for there should be near that period not only a change in the diet (though this is given very broad, of course) but in the general activities of the body.

22. The corrective measures osteopathically we would give twice each week.

23. Ready for questions.

24. (Q) In giving the Milk of Bismuth and Magnesia, is it meant that one should be given one day and one the next, or alternate after each meal? (A) One would be given one day and one the next, but with the Milk of Bismuth add the Lactated Pepsin.

25. (Q) What is the best of the hydrated milks to use? (A) Those that are of the nature given; any of those that are of the nature given.

26. (Q) Should he take coffee at all? If so, should cream be taken in it? (A) When coffee is taken, if milk or cream is used in same it is NOT a food. Without milk or cream it IS a food to the body. For this body, LITTLE of coffee; rather a cereal drink is preferable.

27. (Q) What doctor best to give the osteopathic treatments? (A) Anyone that will give those corrections that have been indicated. Daly [Daley - Dailey?], or Dobbins, or Kraus - any of those.

28. (Q) What exercise can the body take, considering all conditions? (A) As just indicated. Read that given. This is given in consideration of the general exercise that is taken. Just don't overdo self! And remember the vitality of the system is being used up. The strain nervously and the poor

613-1 Page 5

assimilation makes for using the energies of the body. Hence don't overstrain. But use consistency! Be consistent; be persistent; in everything!

29. (Q) Should the Bismuth and Magnesia be taken for periods at a time, or regularly? (A) It should be taken for periods at a time; a week to ten days, or until there are seen changes in not only the eliminations through the alimentary canal but that the RESPIRATIONS, the headaches, the tiredness, do not exist as they have.

30. (Q) Should he give up any of the present treatments he is taking? (A) These suggestions are given for the corrections; these are not considering other treatments, only the activities.

31. (Q) What will aid the body mentally to relax? (A) To be well physically! Do as we have outlined for this body, [613], and we will bring normal conditions to this body.

32. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (A letter [was enclosed] with directions for your osteopath, so that you need not show him the whole reading unless you so desire. The rest of the treatment, I presume, may be carried out at home. GD.)
